๐ธ GIRLS' BRIGADE SUNDAY 2026 ๐ธ
St Paul's Anglican Church, Onitsha.
"The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom." โ Proverbs 9:10
Today, we joyfully celebrate Girls' Brigade Sunday, giving thanks to God for the vision, ministry, and enduring impact of the Girls' Brigade in nurturing young girls to become godly women of faith, discipline, purity, and selfless service.
In his goodwill message, The Rt. Rev. Dr. Owen Chiedozie Nwokolo, Bishop on the Niger, reminded every Girl Brigader that true wisdom begins with the fear of the Lord. He encouraged them to wear their uniform not merely as a badge of membership, but as a symbol of unwavering commitment to Christ. He further charged them to live lives marked by holiness, humility, integrity, kindness, obedience, and faithful service, becoming shining lights in a world filled with moral confusion and ungodly influences.
Our sermon, "THE WARNING," delivered by Rev. Charles Okpalaeke, echoed this call to holy living with a solemn reminder that heaven is real, and hell is real. We were urged never to take the Gospel for granted, never to become a stumbling block to others, and to remember that our lives are a trust from God for which we shall one day give an account.
As we celebrate this special day, may every Girl Brigader remain steadfast in Christ, grow daily in wisdom and grace, and continue to be a positive influence in the Church, the home, and society. May we all live with eternity in view, reflecting Christ in our words, actions, and character.
Happy Girls' Brigade Sunday!
"So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God." โ Romans 14:12
