St. Christopher Junior Seminary Makes History Again!

To the glory of God, St. Christopher Junior Seminary, 3-3, Onitsha, has once again written her name in gold.

Today, 18th May 2026, our students were honoured at the Episcopal Award Ceremony held at the Bishop’s Court. The event, presided over by our Lord Bishop, Rt. Rev. Dr. Owen Chiedozie Nwokolo JP, Bishop of the Diocese on the Niger, is a cherished annual tradition aimed at encouraging academic excellence across the Diocese.

At the ceremony, certificates and gifts were presented to 58 awardees who scored 270 and above in the 2026 JAMB UTME.

By God’s grace and through the discipline and hard work of our students and staff, St. Christopher Junior Seminary emerged:
- 1st Overall in the Diocese on the Niger with a score of 335
- 2nd Overall across all participating schools with a score of 326

This outstanding achievement is a clear testament to the serious academic work, moral discipline, and God-centered formation that define our school.

Good morning brothers. The die is cast and the deed would be done today.

Attached below, is the final candidate list of the candidates eligible to be voted for, at today's election.

A lot of persons have requested for an electronic voting option to be adopted. The electoral committee is well-ready for that option too, but considering what we plan to achieve - which is the physical turn-out of our members to this first-ever Old Boys meeting with the widest acceptance across majority of the Alumni sets; we are sustaining our earlier resolve for a physical election.

The electoral committee is well-ready to see this process to a logical and credible end, as we midwife this process to get a team of leaders that would drive on progress, growth and development for the SCJS Old Boys Association.

Let us vote leaders that we can trust. Let us vote credibility.

We also at this juncture, specially thank every member of this great association for the support and trust you reposed on us to drive this process. We're grateful.

To the set leaders who did well by supporting us and letting us into their platforms to ensure a smooth progress of our electoral processes, we are sure that history adn posterity will never forget this great support of yours. After today, our officers would exit your platforms.

May God bless SCJS as we continue to grow in wisdom and stature, in favour with God and man.

GENERAL NOTICE FROM THE SCJS ELECTORAL COMMITTEE

The SCJS OLD BOYS NATIONAL GENERAL ELECTIONS will take place as follows:

Date: Saturday, 31st December 2022

Venue: Olive Guest House, inside Sharon House, Ozalla road, GRA Onitsha.
Time: (during the meeting)

The offices available for contest are:
1. President
2. Vice President
3. General Secretary
4. Assistant Secretary
5. Treasurer
6. Financial Secretary
7. Publicity Secretary
8. Legal Adviser

According to the constitution, the additional position still remaining is:
(9) Class Set Coordinators

The committee has recommended that the existing Class Set Presidents get adopted automatically into the National Executive Committee as "Class Set Coordinators" - for continuity sake, and in the future, would be presented by the individual class sets after their internal elections.

2. Only accredited members will be eligible to contest and/or be voted for. The process for accreditation would be unveiled and would run from 17th to 19th December 2022.

3. The accredited names would make up the voters register that would be adopted for the elections, which would also undergo screening by the respective set representatives and adoption by the General Set Representatives' platform.

4. A candidate for an elective post shall be nominated by a member through an electronic process which would also be unveiled in due course. The nominees would be contacted to either accept or decline their nominations to qualify to undergo the screening process by the Electoral Committee.

5. The election would be physical and officers selected by a simple majority head-count Vote system, at the SCJS Old Boys Meeting slated for 31st December 2022.

6. Tenure of service would be two years

(1) Announcement and display of election calendar: Friday 16 Dec
(2) Accreditation of voters: 17 - 19 Dec
(3) Nomination of candidates: 20 - 21 Dec
(4) Manifesto presentation: 22 - 24 Dec
(5) Elections: 31 Dec
(6) Presentation of newly-elected leaders: 1 Jan 2023
(7) Swearing-in. Certificate of return Tue 10 Jan 2023 (tentatively-scheduled)

Please, as we the old boys of SCJS are planning for our 2022 meeting, the general body of this association has agreed to build an association that will be an enviable association, whose aims and objectives will be:

- To unite every old boy of our great alma mater together through their set levels to the general body.

- To elect formidable leaders who will be out to ensure that the aims and objective of the association will be achieved through team work and dedication.

- To familiarize ourselves with each other through yearly meeting of ourselves every 31st December and some other days as the leaders of the association may consider for the interest of the association.

- To see ways of helping our members to meet up with the societal need in the country and in the world at large.

- To find out how we as an association, can help bring out the image of our school SCJS to the world bearing in mind the need of education in the world.

- To find out the needs of our alma mater and to render possible solutions to them.

- To find out how to help make the students of our great alma mater to understand the societal need of the world and to be able to queue in through seminars, conferences, workshop.

- To always partner with the school management in meeting the needs of our academic staff and non-academic staff.

With the above stated points, it is of our collective work to ensure that we make this year's gathering a memorable one through the creation of awareness to the world by using this our insignia attached to this post
