BEGINNING THE WEEK IN JESUS WITH PASTOR LAZARUS MUOKA
Week 7: Monday, February 10, 2020
Public Notice: At Rephidim, the Children of Israel made an overwhelming demand on Moses. However, by reason of God's presence, Moses smote the rock in Horeb and the rock produced water for the congregation of Israel.
Chosen People, this same God that was with Moses is with you. This week, this year, whatsoever be the demand placed on you, God will provide the solution and you shall break records in Jesus name.
Exodus 17: 6; Job 41: 22; John 15 : 5: further reading: John 8:29; Jeremiah 32:;27; Exodus 17: 1-6; Roman's 8: 31; Philipians 4 : 13; Psalm 121; Psalm 20: 7;
17 : 6 Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel.
41 : 22 In his neck remaineth strength, and sorrow is turned into joy before him.
15 : 5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abides in me and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.
Further to the above scriptural references, every day in life we face varying challenges from different sources or origins. These challenges are tests of character. It is in the face of serious challenges that the true strength of a man is revealed. The Bible makes this assertion clearly in Proverbs 24: 10. Is your strength rested on God Almighty or is your strength dependent upon the persons you know?
Let us consider the main character in our focal scripture, Moses the Prophet of God. Of a truth, Moses life from birth had been laced with different challenges. He succeeded in breaking forth the Children of Israel out of Egypt. Moses even triumphed over the Red Sea and the Children of Israel sang praises to God and celebrated Moses. Even the bitter waters of Marah were made sweet for the Children of Israel to drink by the hand of Moses. It is pertinent to recognise that in all of these challenges, Moses relied on God. It is thereby confirmed that the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob is the God of Moses.
Consequently, when the Israelites became restless and uncontrollable at Rephidim, at that instance all the testimonies of Moses faded away in apparent hopelessness. Moses has seen the Lord do wonders in the past, but this particular challenge was of a different nature. The Children of Israel will not entertain excuses. When Moses attempted to explain away the situation, the Children of Israel prepared to stone him.
My Brother, my Sister, the world will not accept excuses from you. The only language that the world will submit to is the language of power demonstration. The scriptures illustrates this in 1 Corinthians 4: 20.
Moses retained the presence of God by obedience and humility. When he therefore sought for solution, the Lord provided same.
The Lord stood upon the rock and the rock answered to Moses.
If that rock of a problem standing before you is not yielding, it might be because the Lord has not been invited to that situation. It is possible you have not made the Lord your all in all and you are supporting your Christian life with herbalists and native doctors.
Beloved, life is not by struggle. If you will be victorious, then you have to invite Jesus early enough even today as tomorrow may be to late.
Are you visiting herbalists and native doctors for support? Are you using fraud and 419 to meet up with your peers? You are only prolonging the evil day. Are you selling your body for money or you are surrendering your body for lustful pleasures? The rock will not answer to you.
Amend your ways. You must repent of your sins and promise God that you will never return to them.
Accept Jesus Christ today as your Lord and personal Saviour. As you do so, that problem in your life and family shall bow to Jesus.
Let us pray:
1. God of Chosen, you are the wonder working God. We thank you for the numerous demonstrations of signs and wonders in the recently concluded "from sorrow to joy" programme. We return all glory and praises unto your holy name in Jesus Christ name. Amen.
2. Most glorious and everlasting Redeemer. Thank you for the great joy you granted our Beloved Daddy and Mummy in the Lord and their family. May this joy be multiplied all through the year in Jesus Christ name. Amen.
3. You see you, you cannot serve this God and fail. Whatsoever be the scenario that is mocking God in your life is today changed to your testimony in Jesus name. Amen.
I have dominion in Christ Jesus. Amen.
