Our Saviour Lives!
Happy Easter to all.
It is hearty warming that Jesus Christ was betrayed, arrested, tried and condemned to death. He suffered the most shameful death for you and I. He was crucified. In our time, that could be like being shot at the stakes or being hanged. All for you and I.
He wore a crown of thorns so that I can wear a crown of live.
Prophet Isaiah aptly described the suffering of Christ in Isaiah 53:1-12, saying:
[1]Who hath believed our report? and to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed?
[2]For he shall grow up before him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground: he hath no form nor comeliness; and when we shall see him, there is no beauty that we should desire him.
[3]He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not.
[4]Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted.
[5]But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
[6]All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.
[7]He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth.
[8]He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
[9]And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth.
[10]Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.
[11]He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities.
[12]Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
Jesus Christ bore our iniquities, yours and mine. This is so that you will not bear the consequences of your sins anymore. He tasted death for you! He took over the rightful wages you earned as a sinner.
Romans 3:23
[23]For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Romans 6:23
[23]For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
Jesus Christ took your place so that you can receive the gift of God, which is eternal life. Hallelujah.
Romans 8:34
[34]Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Romans 8:1-2,34
[1]There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
[2]For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
[34]Who is he that condemneth? It is Christ that died, yea rather, that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God, who also maketh intercession for us.
Romans 8:1-2,31-33
[1]There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
[2]For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.
[31]What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?
[32]He that spared not his own Son, but delivered him up for us all, how shall he not with him also freely give us all things?
[33]Who shall lay any thing to the charge of God's elect? It is God that justifieth.
Romans 5:1-2
[1]Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
[2]By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Apostle Paul give a clear understanding of the substitutionary death of Christ. He took our place and was condemned so that we can be justified (Rom 5:1-2).
He paid the debt He did not owe, which we owed but could not pay! Therefore, we are justified from all guilts. What a depth of love!
Thank you Lord Jesus Christ. Christ did not come to preach or teach morals. He came to give life. John 10:10 says
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
Will you accept His offer of forgiveness and life? Do it now, tomorrow will be too late.
Ecclesiastes 9:10
[10]Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.
Happy Easter. Please be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ.
