This is how one should regard us, as servants of Christ and stewards of the mysteries of God. Moreover, it is required of stewards to be found trustworthy (1 Cor. 4:1-2). Lord, make us worthy in our unworthiness.

Who shall climb the mountain of the Lord? Who shall stand in his holy place? The clean of hands and pure of heart, whose soul is not set on vain things (Ps. 24:3-4). Lord have mercy on your people and let our supplications come before your presence.

Truth is bitter
Jesus told the Jews at Nazareth the bitter truth: God loves everyone equally. Stop thinking that you deserve the blessing of God because you are holy, and others are "pagans". Many windows were in Israel but God chose the widow of Zarephath, the "good-for-nothing pagan" to be blessed by Elijah, and there were many lepers in Israel, but God decided to choose Naaman, the "worthless-pagan", for healing (Lk. 4:24-27). Don't put God into your fight with people and your hatred for people. God will not hate anyone for you. Go and solve your issues. Bitter truth can generate anger and it led the people to attempt to murder Jesus, but nobody can kill the wind. Jesus passed through their midst and went away (Lk. 4:28-30). Dear people of God, righteousness exalts a nation. As you go to work, be determined to do what is right. May God bless you with courage to do so through Christ our Lord. Amen. Happy new day to you.

"O Lord, you have deceived me, and I was deceived," (Jer. 20:7).

Can God deceive us? No. What really is happening to Jeremiah in this passage? Recently, I read about a pastor and also a Catholic priest who abandoned their pastoral duties and returned to the traditional religion, becoming diviners (Babalawo). They had their reasons best known to them. However, I can say that they were disillusioned along the line. This is exactly what happened to Jeremiah. Although Jeremiah didn't abandon his prophetic ministry, he probably had no option that we have today.

Notwithstanding, most people think being a pastor or priest or prophet is a gateway to a life of comfort. They jumped into it without counting the cost. When the challenges dawn on them, which can come from the people they pastor, colleagues, political class, or their superiors, they become disillusioned and forget their fundamental options. They accuse God of deceiving them, but in reality they deceived themselves by trying to seek the easy way out of life.

Dear people of God, for what reason exactly did you become a Christian? Have you really asked yourself this question? Try to give yourself an honest answer before you begin to blame everyone and God because of a difficulty that is merely a stepping stone to glory. Happy Sunday to you.

What type of dance can make someone drunk to the extent of giving a blank cheque? Just thinking about John the Baptist and Herod. Happy new day.

"Truly, truly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat falls into the earth and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it bears much fruit," says the Lord ((John 12:24). Saint Lawrence, pray for us. Happy feast day to me.
