THE PACE SETTER, OUR OWN FATHER.
Today, we celebrate more than a birthday. We celebrate a father, a teacher, a leader, and a gift to us.
You have counselled us with wisdom, corrected us with love, prayed for us, supported us, and stood by us through different seasons of our lives. In moments when some of us did not know what to do or where to turn, you were there. You have laboured over us, not just in words, but in prayers, sacrifice, guidance, and genuine concern for our growth.
You have taught us discipline. You have challenged us to become better. You have constantly called us higher and refused to let us settle for less than what God has called us to be.
You have not only taught us about Christ; you have shown us what it means to live for Him. Your life has taught us that Christianity is not just what we say, but what we become. You have shown us what it means for a man to truly live, and not just exist.
Your light has helped many of us find light.
Many of us are better because you said yes to God and chose to pour yourself into us. Many of us have found direction because you took the time to guide us. Many have found strength because you prayed. Many have become more intentional because you refused to allow us to remain where you met us.
You have fathered us well.
You have taught us well.
You have led us well.
You have loved us well.
Thank you for for yielding.
We are grateful for you, Dad.
May the Lord strengthen you, preserve you, increase you in wisdom and grace, and cause the light He has placed in you to shine even brighter.
