TOPIC:
Built His House Upon the Sand

Memorise:
And the rain descended and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house: and it fell: and great was the fall of it. Matthew 7:27

Please read: Matthew 7: 24-29

EXPOSITION:
Our passage reveals the importance of one living his or her life in total belief in the word of God. It also shows the danger of not living one's life based on the word of God. Hearing (or studying) and practicing the word of God must go together. This has a strong advantage. A person who lives his or her life
based on the word of God is likened to a wise fellow who builds his house upon a rock. Rain, floods, and winds will not have a devastating effect on the house. The wise builder will not suffer shipwreck. In contrast, a person who hears the word of God and does not practice it is likened to a foolish man who builds his house upon the sand. Rain, floods, and winds will have a devastating effect on it, and the shipwreck will be great. This metaphor is clear. Whosoever practices the word of God will never make a shipwreck of his life or faith. Therefore, he is wise. But whosoever does not practice the word of God will definitely make a shipwreck of his life or faith. Hence, he is foolish. Practicing the word of God daily is
tantamount to obeying God. This is what we are called to do.

Prayer point:
Father, help me to practice your word daily, to be a wise builder in your vineyard.

TÉMOIGNAGE APOSTOLIQUE
Église Apostolique du Christ

Dimanche 17 Mai 2026

SUJET :

Who Is A Wise Man?

Memorise:
Who is a wise man and endued with knowledge among you? Let him shew out of a good conversation his works with meekness of wisdom. James 3:13

Please read: James 3: 13 – 18

EXPOSITION:
Apostle James asks a pertinent question that is begging for an answer. One who can bridle his tongue and is qualified to teach others (v.13). True wisdom is always accompanied by gentleness and meekness. Proud, overbearing, and disdainful men may pass as Scholars and have learning, but not true wisdom. James listed eight characteristics of false wisdom, which are as follows: bitter envying, strife in the heart, glory in profession, earthly, having this life on in veins, sensual, living only to satisfy the animal appetites, devilish, inspired by demons, confusion, and every evil work (v.
14 – 16). If you have this condition of the heart, you have no true wisdom. Even if you defend religion, you are false in your profession and lie against the truth (v.14). He further list eight characteristics of divine wisdom which are pure (chaste, holy and clean), peaceable, gentle, (meek, modest and kind), easily entreated (not stubborn or obstinate, but yielding to others), full of mercy (always forgiving and performing acts of kindness), full of good fruits, with partially (having no respect of persons), without hypocrisy (open, honest, genuine and true) (v.17). And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace of them that make peace (v.18). In other words, peacemakers are continually recommending this divine wisdom to others. Dear friend, who
are you? - a wise man endued with knowledge? With the condition of the heart, what type of wisdom do you have? True or false wisdom? True wisdom is from above. False wisdom is not from above.

Prayer point:
Father, recreate a new heart within me and endue me with wisdom from above.

Divine Visitor.

Memorise:
And he lift up his eyes and looked, an lo, three men stood by him: and when saw them, he ran to meet them from the tent door, and bowed
himself towards the ground. Gen 18:2.

Please read: Genesis 18:1-15.

EXPOSITION:
Abraham had been living in the plains of Mamre since the time of Gen. 13:18, and continued here until he journeyed from thence. It was customary to sit under the door-flap for shade and to rest and eat at noon when the sun was hottest and the heat was very oppressive. The three men were God and two angels. He pleaded with them not to pass away, but let a little water be fetched, to wash their feet, and rest themselves under the tree; and they said, so do, as thou hast said. God and the angels not only agreed to wait until the dinner was prepared, they also ate. Abraham did not eat with his guests. He only stood by while they ate, as if enjoying his own hospitality. Then they asked for Sarah, and said, I will certainly return to thee according to the time of life; and lo, Sarah thy wife shall have a son. This is the 8th prophecy concerning Abraham’s seed. It was fulfilled the following year in the birth of Isaac (21:1-8). At the time of this prophecy, Abraham was 99 years old and Sarah was 89. Sarah was not only barren (11:30) but had also passed the
productive age. Dear reader, in this year 2026, just like Abraham and Sarah, you shall receive divine visitors, who will release the sure word of prophecy to your stagnant situation, which shall usher you into the fulfilment of his divine purpose for your life, family and work in Jesus name.

Prayer point:
Father send forth your angels to me and my family, who will release your word into our lives.

Joseph the Problem Solver

Memorise:
And Pharaoh said unto his servant, can we find such a man as this is, a man in whom the spirit of God is… Genesis 41:39.

Please read: Genesis 41:25-38.

EXPOSITION:
The dream that Pharaoh had in his sleep troubled his spirit. God was causing this, so as to reveal Joseph as in the case of Daniel
And Nebuchadnezzar. In an attempt to find a solution, Pharaoh sent and called for all the magicians of Egypt, that all the wise men thereof but none could interpret his dreams unto him. As a result of the chief butler's intervention, Joseph was hastily brought out of the dungeon. Pharaoh narrated the dream to him, and told him there was none who could declare it to him. Joseph said unto Pharaoh. The dream of Pharaoh is one. God hath showed Pharaoh what He is about to do and that the dream was doubled unto Pharaoh twice, it is because the thing is established by God, and God will shortly bring it to pass. He counselled Pharaoh to do the following: look out for a man that is discreet and wise, and set him over the land of Egypt, appoint officers, and take up the fifth path of the land of Egypt in the seven plenteous years, gather all the food and keep food in the cities, against the seven years of famine that the land perish not. What are the lessons? This problem brought Joseph as a solution. The
solution proferred when acknowledged led to Joseph’s elevation (v 37-44). Brethren, there are many people and organizations the year with all manner of problems crying for solution. Be a problem-solver like Joseph this year and trust God for the solution. And Joseph answered Pharaoh, saying, it is not in me, God shall give Pharaoh an answer of peace (v. 16). Be a great thinker, be creative, be full of ideas to translate into reality. Key into worthwhile opportunity, it could be your stepping stone to greatness. The case was told of a man who started extramural class for professionals in banking and accounting out of curiosity to solve a problem in education. Today, he is the founder of a private university. Dear friend, do not run away from problem-solving; accept it as a challenge and an opportunity to lift you to greatness. The world is in search of a person in whom the Spirit of God dwells. You are that person!

Prayer point:
Father, fill me with the fullness of your Spirit to be a problem solver this year.

Satan Entered into Judas

Memorise:
Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve. Luke 22:3

Please read: Luke 22:1-6

In Luke 22:1-6, the Bible describes how Satan entered into Judas Iscariot, leading him to betray Jesus. Verse 3 says, 'Then entered Satan into Judas surnamed Iscariot, being of the number of the twelve.' The Bible teaches that Satan is a real and malevolent being who seeks to destroy God's plans and people. Satan, the adversary of God and humanity, is a master of deception and manipulation. He is a deceiver, a liar, and a murderer, seeking to steal, kill, and destroy all that is good. With a heart full of pride and arrogance, Satan rebelled against God's authority, seeking to usurp His throne and rule over humanity. His cunning and clever nature allows him to disguise himself as an 'angel of light,' making him a formidable foe. Despite his powerful
influence in the world, Satan's power is limited by God's sovereignty. As the 'accuser of the brethren,' Satan seeks to condemn and destroy believers, but God's mercy and grace are always available to those who seek Him. By being aware of Satan's tactics and seeking God's protection and guidance, believers
can resist the enemy's schemes and live a life of victory and purpose. Ultimately, Satan's defeat is certain, and God's triumph will be complete, bringing glory and honour to His name. In 1 Peter 5:8, the Bible warns, 'Be
sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour.' As believers, we must be aware of Satan's schemes and take steps to protect ourselves from his influence. In conclusion, Satan's influence is a reality that believers must be aware of, taking steps to resist his schemes and live a life that honours God.

Prayer point:
God, don’t let Satan enter into my heart to destroy your work.

And When Herod Saw Jesus

Memorise:
And when Herod saw Jesus, he was exceeding glad: for he was desirous to see him of a long season, because he had heard many things of
him; and he hoped to have seen some miracle done by him. Luke.23:8.

Please read: Luke 23:6-12.

EXPOSITION:
Seeing Jesus could be one of the greatest achievement in one's life, even though many seek him for the reasons best known to them, some for bodily healing, some for protection against the evil ones, some for provision, some
for preservation, some may even desire to see him in order to betray him, Some desires to see him so as to question him the reasons why of his misfortune in life, while few sought for him for the salvation of their souls, the result is seeing Jesus. Individual purpose determines his / her actions at a glance of Jesus'
presences, Mark. 1:37. From the passage of the scripture today, we understand the purpose of Herod seeking Jesus- 'To see him
perform miracles.' But when he saw Jesus it was an opportunity for him to amend his ways and get right with God; instead, he colluded with Pilate to do evil. So many have lost the opportunity to be saved, just like King Agrippa in Acts. 26:28-32. Herod did not hear any word from him because his purpose/motive for
seeking Jesus was wrong. When Zacchaeus saw Jesus, salvation entered his home, Lk. 19:1-10. The moment blind Bartimaeus saw Jesus, his blindness disappeared, Mk. 10:46-52. You cannot see Jesus and your life remains the same. Those who saw him in the past have their life transformed and changed
the whole world upside down. If you seek Jesus for the right purpose, you will see him. True transformation will definitely be your experience and that of your family.

Prayer point:
Lord, I want to see you; reveal yourself to me in this season of Easter.

TOPIC:
If These Should Hold Their Peace

Memorise:
And he answered and said unto them, 'I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.’ Luke 19:40

Please read: Luke 19:18-40

EXPOSITION:
In Luke 19:28-40, Jesus enters Jerusalem, and the Pharisees rebuke the disciples for praising Him. Verse 40 says, 'And he answered and said unto them, 'I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.'' This verse emphasizes the inevitability of God's praise and the futility of human attempts to silence it. The Pharisees' attempt to silence the disciples was motivated by their own pride and fear of losing control, and they wanted to silence the disciples for praising Jesus because they were afraid of the implications of Jesus being hailed as the Messiah. By silencing the disciples, the Pharisees hoped to prevent Jesus' popularity from growing and to maintain their own control over the Jewish people. However, Jesus responded to their request by saying, 'I tell you, if these were silent, the stones would cry out' (Luke 19:40), emphasizing that the truth about His identity and mission could not be suppressed. In essence, the Pharisees wanted to silence the disciples because they feared that Jesus' message and popularity would undermine their own power and influence. Jesus' response to the Pharisees, 'I tell you, if these were silent, the stones would cry out'
(Luke 19:40), emphasizes that the truth about his identity and mission cannot be silenced. In Psalm 19:1, the Bible says, ‘The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handiwork.’ This verse illustrates how creation itself praises God, regardless of human actions. As believers, we are called to join in the eternal chorus of praise to our Almighty God. In conclusion, the inevitability of God's praise should inspire us to worship Him
with abandon, knowing that our praise is part of a universal and eternal chorus.

Prayer point:
God, give me the grace to continually praise you from a grateful heart.
