WALKING IN LOVE (23)
Do All Things In Love!
"Let all your things be done with charity." 1 Corinthians 16:14
The Corinthian church was a community full of chaos, division, and competing egos. They had plenty of spiritual gifts, but they lacked the cohesive glue to hold them together safely. Right after telling them to stand firm, be brave, and be strong, Paul anchors their strength with a vital filter, love.
True spiritual maturity isn't measured by how much we accomplish, how right we are in an argument, or how hard we work. It is measured by the posture of our hearts while doing those things.
It is incredibly easy to let our daily routines become transactional. We reply to emails to clear our inboxes, we complete household chores to keep things tidy, and we help others out of a sense of obligation. But in this brief, ultimate exhortation at the close of his letter, the Apostle Paul challenges us to elevate our ordinary activities into spiritual acts of worship.
When Paul writes "all that you do," he leaves no room for exemptions. This includes how you speak to a difficult coworker, how you respond when stuck in traffic, and how you care for your family when you are exhausted. Love is not merely a warm emotion; it is an intentional choice to seek the good of another at a cost to yourself. Doing everything in love shifts our focus from what we are doing to why we are doing it, ensuring our actions reflect the unconditional love Christ has poured into us.
God is Love, we are sons and daughters of love, love is now the believers filter through which every decision, text message, business deal, and prayer must pass. If it does not pass the filter, it is not authorized.
Affirm, I walk in God's love towards all. Every action I take today is sponsored and sensored by the law of God's love. Amen
