Though I Fall Through Setbacks, I Will Rise Again

“Rejoice not over me, O my enemy: when I fall, I shall arise.” — Micah 7:8

INTRODUCTION
Setbacks are part of life. Sometimes we face disappointments, delays, failures, rejection, or struggles that make us feel like giving up. But as children of God, we must understand that falling is not the end.

A setback is only temporary. With God, there is always hope for restoration and a new beginning.

1. Great People Experienced Setbacks
▪︎ Joseph was sold into slavery before becoming a ruler.

▪︎ David faced rejection before becoming king.

▪︎ Job lost everything before God restored him.

Their setbacks did not stop God’s purpose for their lives.

2. God Can Turn Setbacks Into Testimonies
What looks like failure today can become tomorrow’s testimony.

Joel 2:25 says:
“I will restore to you the years that the locust hath eaten.”
God is able to restore lost opportunities, joy, strength, and blessings.

3. Refuse to Stay Down
Proverbs 24:16 says:
“For a righteous man may fall seven times and rise again.”

The enemy may knock you down, but through God’s grace, you will rise again stronger and wiser.

CONCLUSION
No matter the setback you are facing today, do not lose hope. God is still in control. Your present condition is not your final destination.
Though you fall, you shall rise again.

PRAYER
Father, strengthen me in every season of setback. Restore every good thing I have lost and give me grace to rise again in Jesus’ name. Amen.

Sermon Title: Where Do You Belong?
Text: Philippians 3:20

We all belong somewhere, but the most important question is: do you belong to God or to the world?
The Bible reminds us that believers are citizens of heaven. That means our values, lifestyle, and choices should reflect Christ, not the world.
Jesus said those who follow Him are not of the world. So your actions reveal your true belonging.
Wrong associations and sinful living can pull a person away from God, but Jesus is always calling us back to Him.

So today, ask yourself honestly: Where do I truly belong?

Choose to belong to Christ, live for Him, and walk as a citizen of heaven.

Sermon Title: Bible Teaching on The Good and Bad Shepherd
Text: John 10:2, 9

INTRODUCTION
In John 10, Jesus clearly shows that there are two kinds of shepherds: the bad (false) shepherd and the Good Shepherd. Understanding this contrast helps us avoid deception and follow the right path.

1. The Bad Shepherd (False Leaders and Deceivers)

Jesus warns about those who are not true shepherds.

a. They come in the wrong way
John 10:1 (context) explains that they do not enter through the door. They climb in another way, using deceit and manipulation.

b. They seek personal gain
Bad shepherds are driven by selfish motives such as:

• Money
• Fame
• Power

They use the sheep instead of serving them.

c. They do not truly care for the sheep
They may appear genuine, but their hearts are not with the flock. Their concern is not the well-being of the people.

d. They abandon the sheep in times of danger
When challenges arise, they run away because they have no real commitment.

e. They scatter and destroy
Instead of guiding, they confuse and mislead people, drawing them away from the truth.

2. The Good Shepherd (Jesus Christ)

John 10:2 says, “But he that entereth in by the door is the shepherd of the sheep.”

a. He enters through the right way
The Good Shepherd is genuine, sent by God, and recognized by the sheep.

b. He is the door of salvation
John 10:9 says, “I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved…”
Jesus is the only way to salvation, security, and eternal life.

c. He knows and cares for the sheep

▪︎ He knows them personally
▪︎ He leads them with love
▪︎ He provides for their needs

d. He sacrifices for the sheep
The Good Shepherd lays down His life. Jesus demonstrated this through His death on the cross.

e. He protects and preserves the sheep
He guides, guards, and keeps His flock safe.

e. He protects and preserves the sheep
He guides, guards, and keeps His flock safe.

3. Key Differences Between the Bad and Good Shepherd

• The bad shepherd uses the sheep → The Good Shepherd serves the sheep

• The bad shepherd runs away → The Good Shepherd stands and protects

• The bad shepherd deceives → The Good Shepherd leads in truth

• The bad shepherd destroys → The Good Shepherd gives life

4. Lessons for Believers

a. Be watchful
Not everyone who claims to lead is sent by God.

b. Know the voice of Christ
Stay rooted in God’s Word so you can recognize truth.

c. Follow Jesus above all
Do not depend solely on human leaders—focus on Christ.

d. Stay close to the Good Shepherd
Your safety and growth depend on your connection with Him.

Conclusion
The bad shepherd leads to confusion and destruction, but the Good Shepherd leads to life and peace. Jesus is calling His sheep to follow Him and avoid every false voice.

Final Reflection:
▪︎ Are you following the true Shepherd or being misled?

▪︎ Can you discern between truth and deception?

▪︎ Are you firmly rooted in Christ?

May we reject every false shepherd and remain faithful to the Good Shepherd, who gives us life abundantly.
