This was the very one Pope John Paul the second wore the very day he was shot 45 years ago.

This here represent grace,
for it was God's grace that kept him.

It represents temptation,
for this incident was a trial and temptation to pour an ocean of fear into his call.

Finally it represents forgiveness,
for he forgave his shooter.

May this remind us that people can just choose to harm you irrespective of the fact that you did them no wrong.

You don't need to do the devil any wrong before he comes for you.

Just let God be your witness.

In forgiveness we live and breath.

His healing and recovery wasn't from the hands of the doctors,
it was rather the hands of forgiveness.

Social media is not real life.

People are not that close to each other as you think.

I read a farewell message to Alex Ekubo from a particular actor and it left me thinking.

This actor is fair in complexion like Alex Ekubo and they have many videos and pictures together on various media spaces.

Videos of the good times that suggests closeness and choplife gang and even a possible business togetherness.

But yesterday,
here he was,
posting a farewell that talked of his confusion at Alex's silence and disappearance from the public eyes and media.

He wrote how he was able to reach out to him through text and he replied he was fine.

This story is not the story of two people who are much close.

It is either they weren't actually close to each other in reality or that Alex chose to keep him self a mystery in his most trying times.

Which ever it is,
just know that people aren't that much close to each other like you think.

Just know this!

SHOW US THE WAY

Not again Thomas!
His audacity.

The other time,
he would not believe unless he sees for himself.
Unless he put his fingers in those wounds.

Today he is blunt and straight forward with,
a little touch of heartfelt sincerity.

"We do not know where you are going to"
"Show us the way"

Jesus proceeds to show him the way.
He is the way,
the truth and the life.

Now let me tell you something!
In the realm of the spirit,
It wasn't just Thomas not knowing where Jesus was going.
It was Thomas not knowing exactly where he himself is going.

Think about it.
It was an indirect pointing to his spiritual predicament.

Thomas was clueless.
A closed mouth is closed destiny they say.

He opened his mouth.
Jesus showed him the way.

Have you lost direction?
Do you not know any longer where you are going to in life?

You are a man!
Presumably a father of a house.
You have lost track.
You are ashamed to open up.
They say men don't cry!
That men keep things to them selves untill they solve it.

Tell God!

Tell your wife you do not any longer know where you are going to.

I know of a man who owned a bakery.
He would leave six am in the morning and return very late.
He always appeared busy.
But he had already lost track.
But he was courageous enough to open up to his wife.
I do not know where I am going to anymore.
The woman came into the game.
In few months the business was thriving.

It is not a crime to not know where you are going.
But it is a spiritual crime to not tell Jesus that you do not know where you are going.

Let me come again!

The moment we lose track of where Jesus is going in our life,
we automatically lose track of where we are going in life.

Thomas lost everything.
But in Jesus he found everything.

He found the way,
The truth and the life.

THURSDAY OF THIRD WEEK OF EASTER
John 6:44-51

THEY SHALL BE TAUGHT BY GOD...

One of my awkward experience
as a Seminarian on apostolic
work, was visiting a man
who refused to listen to me and my
apostolic work mate's reflection.
He said it doesn't matter at that moment.
He proceeded to ask if we were feeding well.
And I wondered if I was in that village to
feed or do the work of God.
I saw pride in his eyes.
May be, we were mere Seminarians.
May be he would only listen to
the Pope or Bishop or Monsignors.

Today's gospel(John 6:44-51)
Jesus recaped the words of
the prophets,
"They shall be taught by God"
And then he said
"Those who learn from his father, will
come to me"

If we have decided to follow Jesus,
then we must be ready to learn
from him.
We must be ready to be taught by God.
We must be ready to aswell be routes and instruments of his word.

Today's first reading(acts 8:26-40)
the Eu**ch was ready to learn.
And one of the attributes of a student that wants to learn is humility.
When Philip asked him if he was understanding anything, he
humbly told him he wasn't at all.
And Philip taught him.
When we are humble to accept and admit that we don't know,
our God and the people around us will enlighten ad teach us.

Finally we must not forget the role of the spirit in today's reading.
The holy spirit is the primary agent in all
learning about God.
The spirit was the driving force behind today's encounter between Philip and the Eu**ch.
The spirit led Philip to the Eu**ch nd
same spirit was with the Eu**ch.

Death is not even rejection.

Moses infuriated God.

His punishment was that he would not enter the Promise Land.

He died and was buried.
But was not rejected.

On the transfiguration,
he was there by the side of Jesus.

It takes a lot of deepness to understand this side of the reality of God.

The highest rejection is not God not answering our prayers.
It is rather us staying away from God because we feel he has not answered our prayers.
