Taking Responsibility : What's It About?

It means owning your actions and taking charge of roles assigned to you within a time frame allocated.

The Bible emphasizes Personal Responsibility.

Galatians 6:7-8; Whatever you sow you will reap. You are responsible for the outcome of your actions at the end of the day. It is irresponsibility for any leader or fathers to think of self ahead of taking care of the children.

1 Timothy 5:8: It is your responsibility to provide for the members of your household. It is also the responsibility of the church to take care of the pastors and members under their care and not abdicate such roles to others.

Proverbs 23:7: You are responsible for the thoughts you allow into your mind. Whatever you allowed would be allowed

Ezra 10:4 Arise and Take Responsibility for the future you desire and the destination of your life after now.

KEY ASPECTS OF TAKING RESPONSIBILITY

1. Accountability Over Excuses: instead of blaming by focusing on problems, they refocus on solving or fixing the problem.

2. Owning Your Mistakes: admit that you have broken covenant or agreement and ensure you name adequate restitution as that shows that you own up to the wrong you have done.

HOW TO TAKE RESPONSIBILITY

1. Admit your mistakes promptly

2. Focus on solutions

3. Pause to consider

4. Personal actions have direct consequences on your life. As you will lose credibility or even go to jail.

A Tribute to Bishop Dr. Mike Okonkwo, MFR, at 80

On behalf of the entire TREM Lighthouse Global Family, we joyfully join heaven and earth in celebrating a true father in the faith, a living legend, guiding mentor, and a general of the gospel, in the church in Africa Bishop Dr. Mike Okonkwo, MFR, on the occasion of your 80th birthday.

Your life has been a living epistle, written not with ink but with grace, sacrifice, and unwavering commitment to the cause of Christ and the Gospel of The Unchanging Love of God In Christ (TULOGIC). You have stood as a shepherd whose voice has echoed with clarity, guiding generations into truth, hope, and destiny. Through the ministry of The Redeemed Evangelical Mission (TREM), you have raised sons and daughters across nations—men and women who today shine as lights because of your obedience to God’s call.

Eighty years is not merely a measure of time, but of impact. It is a testimony of God’s faithfulness upon a life poured out like a drink offering. You embody resilience, wisdom, humility, and unshakable faith in Jesus Christ. Your love for people and your tireless pursuit of kingdom advancement have left footprints that will outlive this generation.

As a father, you have blessed us. As a leader, you have equipped us. As a prophet, you have pointed us to Christ Jesus. Today, we at TREM Lighthouse Global rise to honor you, celebrate you, and thank God for preserving you as a gift to the Body of Christ and to the world.

Our prayer is that the Lord will continually renew your strength, multiply your joy, and crown your latter years with even greater glory. May you flourish in health, peace, and divine fulfillment.
