Our ageless deserves our joyful thanks for the great and mighty things he has done and continue to do in New Insight Baptist Church. The church started with the vision of using the Baptist churches of theology Lagos as a stepping stone for planting Baptist churched in deserving areas of Lagos. Oyedokun had a vision that led to the formation of the evangelism committee was the need for an English
Baptist church in Ogudu GRA. The inaugural service of the church was held on September 11, 2005 at the first temporary site at no 124 Ogudu road, nine months later we had to move out because the venue became too small and because the property was sold. We thus moved slightly off our target point. these two location were rented apartments and many would be members were skeptical about the church being able to secure that and / or pay for ling in Ogudu. one year three months later, the church was asked to leave the new location because the owner desired to sell off the property. this led the church not only to locate but pay miraculously for a property in Ogudu gr on our year of Devine Establishment and out MONTH OF PRAISE( SEPTEMBER 22, 2007). we worshiped on the site on October 7, 2007 for the time FOR THE FIRST
The church started with fifteen members both adult and babies but has grown to have a recorded member of eighty-eight both adult and babies. The church was not started through amalgamation of home fellowship of any church, but adopted New Estate Baptist Church its mother on September 7,2007. We organized the various church ministry for the propagation of the gospel in line with the Baptist denomination. our Men Missionary Union (MMU), Women Missionary Union (WMU), Youth Fellowship, Children department, Sunday School, Evangelism Ministry, Finance Committee and Prayer groups were quickly organized, they are currently active and vibrant. Some of these are already active in the association, the conference and the convention. our music ministry has had a trained minister overseeing it from January 2006. The church adopted the mother constitution and is in the process of registering its board of trustees. We go out on evangelism in the neighborhood every third Sunday of the month and the response has been quite encouraging. Our mid-week service used for in-depth teaching of the word is beginning to attract more people in the neighborhood. We hold our night vigil every last Friday of the month and a three day monthly fasting and prayer period at the beginning of every month. We held our first baptism in June 2007 for nine people. the second set of six will soon be ready for baptism. The church has been able within three years through the guidance of the Holy Spirit to target the vision of the visionary. All glory must be given to the lord for he alone is worthy of our praise and thanks. It has not been all that rosy and many of the church's friends can testify to this. We have had period of anxiety, especially when we were given two weeks to leave no 45 Ogudu road, at that time we had identified the land for His church but had no money money to pay and many eateries and banks were eyeing the same land. We had embarrassing times times when we increase in number and some left because we had no permeant site and were doubtful of our being capable of purchasing a land in Ogudu GRA our target location . It was so difficult also difficult starting a home fellowship in this area because we needed member in good number and with adequate accommodation. To the glory of god we now have two house fellowships, one in Ojota and one in Ogudu GRA. we look forward to two more centers in the next months. we are currently in the " labor room" preparing grounds to bring forth our first daughter church. this will god willing the next month. We cannot but appreciate our founding members for the sacrifice, patience and tolerance; I thanks to God for the dedication and commitments of all the church members especially the committee members. we are grateful to the friends of the church who believed inn us, prayed for us and supported us morally and financially; God the rewarder of those who diligently serve him him will reward you you beyond your imaginations in Jesus name. we give kudos to our mother , New Estate Baptist Church who through the renovation of their auditorium spurred us into putting the finishing touches to our auditorium through their material gifts. we are profoundly grateful to all who have blessed us with their presence and gifts today. the Lord will bless you abundantly in Jesus name amen. we how ever implore you not to be deceived by what your have seen here today, but to give and continue to give toward the work of God here as there is yet much to be done and much to be paid for. respond to the spirit of God without prejudice, as you do so, you will remain a vessel unto honour in God's hand.
