Jesus while He was effectively carrying out His earthly Ministry was asked a Tempting Question
What is the greatest Commandment?
Jesus Responding to their question told them that the summary of the greatest commandment is captured in the word 'Love'.
Specifically, he stated it to be
Matthew 22:35-40 Then one of them, [which was] a lawyer, asked [him a question], tempting him, and saying, Master, which [is] the great commandment in the law? Jesus said unto him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second [is] like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. On these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets.
The problem we have in the society is Love. That is why there is so much Fight, War, Hatred in many Homes, Society etc.
That is why two brother are fighting for a Land because Love is Absent.
In the Absent of Love there lies Every other Evil that was why Jesus called it to be the greatest Commandments upon which all other is resting.
If you Love your Neighbors you won't lie against them, you won't steal their properties or even cheat your neighbours.
Every Family without Love is a Family bound to have Issues. Problem everywhere because Love for God and people are absent.
A man That Does not Love God can't Love people. It is because we Love God that is why it is easy to love people.
1 John 4:16-21 We know how much God loves us, and we have put our trust in his love. God is love, and all who live in love live in God, and God lives in them. And as we live in God, our love grows more perfect. So we will not be afraid on the day of judgment, but we can face him with confidence because we live like Jesus here in this world. Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear. If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experienced his perfect love. We love each other because he loved us first. If someone says, "I love God," but hates a Christian brother or sister, that person is a liar; for if we don't love people we can see, how can we love God, whom we cannot see? And he has given us this command: Those who love God must also love their Christian brothers and sisters.
Every Family that doesn't Love God is bound to have Issues. It is the Love we have for God that keeps a home and constraint us from doing things that are bad.
2 Corinthians 5:14 Either way, Christ's love controls us. Since we believe that Christ died for all, we also believe that we have all died to our old life.
2 Corinthians 5:14 Christ's love has moved me to such extremes. His love has the first and last word in everything we do. Our firm decision is to work from this focused center: One man died for everyone. That puts everyone in the same boat.
The question now is do we Love God?.
What are the Proofs that we Love God.
1) Giving Attention: one of the proofs that we Love God is that we give him Attention. We deliberately create time for Him in the place of both prayer and the word.
How do you claim to Love God and you don't have time for Him. To pray and read Bible you say no time. Come to Church you say no time and yet you claim you Love God.
A man says he doesn't have time to go to church or even pray and read Bible but goes to Business or work and even have time to talk to friends, watch films, play ball or games etc.
Can a man or woman claim He love his wife of husband and not Have time for Him or her.
It is not possible.
The Proof of Love is in your commitment to giving attention to the other.
2). Obedience
John 14:15 "If you love me, show it by doing what I've told you.
John 14:21 "The person who knows my commandments and keeps them, that's who loves me. And the person who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him and make myself plain to him."
John 14:23-24 "Because a loveless world," said Jesus, "is a sightless world. If anyone loves me, he will carefully keep my word and my Father will love him--we'll move right into the neighborhood! Not loving me means not keeping my word. The message you are hearing isn't mine. It's the message of the Father who sent me.
How well we obey God's word either the spoken or written word is a proof of our Love for Him.
The question now is Do you Love God?.
