In the 1990s, a popular manufacturing company was well known for her various good quality product such as plastics, foods and
confectionaries.
At a point, the company's business got to the peak, and then the law of diminishing returns set in. Today, the company's name not as famous as before because the management failed to restrategise through rebranding and repackaging.
The situation of the Ephesians' church in today's text is comparable. The church at Ephesus has some outstanding qualities in relation to her unalloyed loyalty to Christ and great endurance.
Moreover, the church worked hard at purifying herself by rejecting the Nicolaitans' heretical teachings similar others.
However, their love for God had greatly diminished compared to when they first believed. The church was encouraged to return to her first love and renew commitment; otherwise, she would lose her stand and reward with God.
Have you also abandoned your first love? How is your relationship with God now, compared to when you first believed?
If you are not making progress in your relationship with God then you definitely need recommitment. How you handle pure gospel teachings is equally important.
Heretical teachings abound in the contemporary society. Do not allow any of the teachings to have a place in your heart. Remain rapturable.
*Perceive:* Do not allow any heretical teaching to have a place in your heart.
*Ponder:* How genuine and intense is your love to God in this end time?
*Practice:* Resolve to renew your love relationship with your Maker today.
*Pray:* Lord Jesus, I rededicate my life.
