EID-UL-ADHA MESSAGE BY THE OGBOMOSOLAND MUSLIM COMMUNITY (OMC)

The leadership of the Ogbomosoland Muslim Community (OMC) heartily congratulates the entire Muslim Ummah in Ogbomosoland, Oyo State, Nigeria, and across the world on the occasion of the blessed Eid-ul-Adha 1447 A.H.

As we commemorate this sacred festival of sacrifice, obedience, love, and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah, OMC calls on all faithful to uphold the virtues of patience, unity, compassion, peaceful coexistence, and fear of Allah in all dealings.

The Community prays for the safe return of our teachers and students in captivity while expressing deep concern over the persistent insecurity and attacks on innocent souls in some parts of Ogbomosoland and neighbouring communities, particularly within the Orire axis.

OMC strongly condemns every act of terrorism, kidnapping, banditry, and violence against innocent citizens and calls on government at all levels, security agencies, community leaders, and relevant stakeholders to intensify efforts towards protecting lives and properties

We equally extend our heartfelt condolences to families and communities who have lost loved ones as a result of insecurity and violent attacks.

OMC emphasizes the need for unity among all people of Ogbomosoland irrespective of religious or social differences. In particular, we urge Muslims to remain united and steadfast upon the teachings of Islam as prescribed in our doctrine, avoiding division, hatred, and unnecessary rancour within the fold of the Ummah.

May Allah accept our sacrifices, forgive our shortcomings, and grant lasting peace, unity, and security to Ogbomosoland, Oyo State, and Nigeria as a whole.

Eid Mubarak.

PRESS RELEASE

OGBOMOSOLAND MUSLIM COMMUNITY URGES OYO STATE GOVERNMENT TO REVIEW SECURITY ARCHITECTURE

The Ogbomosoland Muslim Community (OMC) has expressed deep concern over the growing insecurity in parts of Oyo State, particularly within the Ogbomoso zone of Orire Local Government Area, where cases of terrorism, kidnapping, and violent attacks continue to threaten lives and property.

Reports indicate that many innocent civilians, alongside some security personnel, have lost their lives, while several others have been abducted and subjected to ransom demands. Of particular concern is the recent attacks on LA School, Ahoro–Esinle, and Community High School, Ahoro–Esinle, in Orire Local Government Area.

The attacks allegedly resulted in the loss of innocent lives, while the principal, vice principal, and some students were reportedly kidnapped. These unfortunate incidents clearly demonstrate the seriousness, coordination, and persistence of the criminal elements behind the unrest.

In light of these disturbing developments, OMC commends the Oyo State Government for the swift actions and security measures taken so far. However, the Community strongly urges the government to holistically review and strengthen the security architecture of the state, particularly around the Orire axis, and intensify efforts toward the safe rescue of those currently held captive.

OMC also calls on all residents of Oyo State to remain vigilant and security conscious at all times. Citizens are encouraged not to collaborate with criminal elements in any form, but rather to support security agencies by providing timely and useful information to the appropriate authorities.

We pray that Almighty Allah continues to protect our communities, strengthen the efforts of security personnel, and restore lasting peace and tranquility across our land.

Furthermore, the Ogbomosoland Muslim Community sympathizes with the families of all victims affected by these painful incidents. May Almighty Allah grant them the strength and patience to bear these irreplaceable losses. We also pray for the safe release of those currently in captivity and ask Allah to reform the hearts and minds of those engaged in evil acts toward righteousness, peace, and harmony.
