The Riches of Christ:
God doesn’t wait for you to be perfect.
He comes into your mess,
cleans you, and covers you with His righteousness.

THE RICHES OF CHRIST
2 Corinthians 8:9

When we talk about the riches of Christ, we are not talking about material wealth. Physical riches do not equal true riches in the sight of God. The riches of Christ are commodities that cannot be bought with money.

Before we were introduced to the riches of Christ, we were poor because of our fallen nature. This poverty exists in three forms. Physical poverty is sickness, pain, or disease. Soulical poverty is the negative emotional state of the soul. Spiritual poverty is separation from God.

As the teaching continued, we looked at the different facets of Christ's riches.

A. THE RICHES OF SALVATION
Through salvation we receive forgiveness, because by the death, burial, and resurrection of Jesus our debt was paid. (Ephesians 1:7)

We receive justification, which means we are declared not guilty and we have right standing with God.

We receive sanctification, which means God has set us apart for a divine purpose. (1 Corinthians 6:11)

We receive reconciliation, which means we now have a relationship with God through Jesus' sacrifice.

We receive adoption, which means we have legal standing as heirs in God's Kingdom.

B. THE RICHES OF SONSHIP
Because we are sons of God, we have the legal right to be called children of God. We also have a legal right to God's possessions.
As members of God's household, we have unrestricted access to Him.

C. THE RICHES OF HIS INHERITANCE
This means that we are not only sons of God, but we are also God's inheritance. (Ephesians 1:18)

Lord, we ask that you open our eyes to understand and fully experience the riches we have in Christ.

THE CHRISTIAN AND THE TONGUE
‎Text: James 3: 3-12

‎The tongue is a powerful tool and it can be used to minister life (Prov 14:4). It is a flame of fire and a tool of faith.

‎As Christians, our tongues should be used to administer life. We should have the consciousness that we can speak words that are filled with spirit and life.

‎The quality of our words is as a result of what is rooted in our hearts, so we should be conscious of the thoughts that come into our hearts.

Words from our tongues can heal and be sources of life.
