*In our society, there are many youths that are consumed by the burning desire of temporary pleasures that can damn their souls. They do not think about the implications of their actions which have future and eternal consequences.*

*Recounting past mistakes, Amanda Blake said: "I believe that I would not have smoked had I seen a label on a cigarette package or in a cigarette ad that said 'Warning: Cigarette smoking may cause death from heart disease, cancer or emphysema."*

*This submission is coming from someone who regretted smoking because she was ignorant of its consequences on the human health. Dear youth, you cannot claim you have not heard about the danger of sins today because the gospel is being preached everywhere.*

*Remember that everyone would appear before the judgment seat of God in due time like Lazarus and the rich man did. The rich man lived in sin and wickedness, and received eternal damnation as his reward, while Lazarus was granted a comfortable place at Abraham's bosom. Prepare to meet the Lord at the judgment seat with clean hands and heart.*

*_"Have You Counted the Cost?"_ is a song written by Arthur J. Hodge in 1923, calling us to prioritise our spiritual wellbeing above physical and temporal comfort and pleasure. Those who follow evil paths often end up entangled in greater sin and destruction.*

*The pleasures that come with wrongdoing are short-lived and frequently result in regret, pain, and broken ambitions. This is what happened to Amnon, the first son of David, when he committed in**st with his sister Tarmar.*

*As youths, we must allow God's word, the wise counsels of our godly parents and righteous leaders in our schools and neighbourhoods to guide our actions and each step we take. Sinful temporary pleasures will lead to sorrow and the displeasure of God. They cause stagnation and backwardness in the long run. And may lead to eternal regret if there is no repentance.*

*This is why the writer of our passage said that when sinners entice you, you must not follow them. When we resist the urge to follow the crowd, and walk in wisdom, we will experience the peace of living in alignment with God's word.*

*In the mid-1800s, Kgosi Sechele I, a tribal chief of the Bakwena people in today's Botswana, held great power as a rainmaker. The people trusted him for their crops, herds, and survival. But everything changed when Sechele met Scottish missionary Dr. David Livingstone.*

*Livingstone introduced him to the message of the God, not made by human hands, not found in charms or rituals, but a God who created the heavens and the earth, just like Paul preached in Athens. But after months of learning, praying, and soul-searching, Sechele decided to follow Jesus Christ. In 1848, he was baptized.*

*It is not surprising that we find youths today, out of fear, engaging in superstitious and occult practices which put them in bo***ge to Satan despite available freedom in Christ. Such youths will incur God's wrath if they don't repent, renounce the occult practices and surrender to Christ.*

*True children of God must put their trust in God alone. In Christ, we are complete, and all our needs are provided if we pray with faith and believe in Him.*

*Rest is important. Even God, after creating the world, took a day to rest. This shows us that rest is necessary, it is not laziness. Many young people feel pressured to always be active; but without rest, we become tired, stressed, and less effective.*

*In the words of W. Clement Stone, "Fatigue is not conducive to doing your best work. Don't reduce your energy level so low that you drain your battery. The activity level of the nervous system is raised when the body recharges itself with rest." Indeed, timely rest improves health.*

*God designed rest to refresh our bodies and minds. Jesus Himself took time to rest (Mark 4:38). When we rest properly, we gain strength to do more. This includes getting enough sleep, setting aside time for devotion, listening to healthy and uplifting music, and taking breaks from stressful social media activities.*

*A Christian author, Max Lucado also says, "God wants you to rest and trust in Him." Let's learn to balance work and rest, trusting that when we rest, we are renewed.*

*Reconciliation is the act of getting two or more warring or feuding parties to settle their differences amicably. Reconciliation takes place between friends, in families, ethnic groups, and nations. Thich Nhat Hanh once said, "The practice of peace and reconciliation is one of the most vital and artistic of human actions."*

*Without reconciliation, there will be friction in human relationships; and same is true with human relationship with God. Human reconciliation may not be perfect, but the one through Christ's atonement is perfect.*

*Friend, humanity was in enmity with God because of sin, and separated from Him. But Jesus came from heaven to reconcile us to God by shedding His blood on the Cross of Calvary. If you confess your sins and receive Christ, our only advocate, you will become free from sin and be reconciled to God.*

*Reconciliation with God brings forgiveness and peace to your soul, and prepares you for God's unlimited blessings - sanctification, Holy Ghost Baptism, and breakthrough in all areas of your life. Remember, access to God's throne is only through Christ's atonement. Be reconciled with your Maker through Christ's atonement!*

*The Second Coming of Jesus Christ is an event that every believer must be prepared for. In Matthew 24:40-44, Jesus warns that His return will be sudden and unexpected. Two will be in the field - one will be taken, the other left. Two will be grinding at the mill - one will be taken, the other left. This highlights the importance of readiness, as there will be no time for last-minute preparations.*

*To be ready for the rapture, one must have a genuine relationship with Christ through salvation. Living a life of holiness, prayer, and obedience to God's Word ensures that we are constantly prepared for His coming. The parable of the wise and foolish virgins (Matthew 25:1-13) further emphasises the necessity of being spiritually vigilant.*

*Are you ready for Christ's return? The distractions of the world can make people complacent, but Jesus instructs us to watch and be sober. The Bible assures us that those who are faithful will be caught up with Him in glory. Let us live daily with eternity in view, ensuring that our hearts are right with God.*

*Grace is God's undeserved favour, love and mercy toward humanity. It is a fundamental concept in our Christian faith. Grace is something that is freely given. "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God" (Ephesians 2:8).*

*This benevolent act of God was bestowed on Joseph in the house of Potiphar, his master; and the Lord made all that he did to prosper. Joseph had a special place with God who had given him a dream of greatness. He experienced his worst nightmares in the hands of his cruel and envious brothers but found grace in the sight of God and Potiphar.*

*When a person finds grace, divine help, support and riches are made available to fulfil kingdom purpose. "But Noah found grace in the eyes of the LORD" (Genesis 6:8). God's grace brings benefits such as salvation, unmerited favours, His presence and power. Like Joseph, may you find grace to help you in your time of need. Pray for your prison doors to open today.*

*In our text, Jesus taught His disciples and the multitudes the importance of trusting God and prioritizing His kingdom over material concerns, such as food and clothing. Having anxiety over such things reflects lack of faith in God's provision, care, faithfulness, and sovereignty.*

*He reminds us that if our Heavenly Father can clothe the lilies of the field so beautifully, then He will certainly provide for His children, who are of far greater value to Him.*

*Seeking first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, requires believers to prioritize their relationship with God by loving Him above all else. This passage teaches us to focus on things which have eternal value, such as our salvation, holiness, consistent obedience to God's word, and spreading of the gospel. As we obey the Lord's command, God's promise of daily provision will be fulfilled in our lives.*

*Sinning youths should first give their hearts to Jesus, and then cast their care upon Him. He will take care of them. By putting God first, we align ourselves with His will, trusting that He will faithfully meet our needs and guide us through life's uncertainties.*

*On February 9, 1709, the child, John Wesley, was pulled out through a window of their family house, a storey building that was on fire, just before the roof caved and fell into his room.*

*The entire family was saved, though their family house was razed down by fire. His parents, Samuel and Susanna Wesley, were devoted Christians who brought up all their children in the fear of God. They were all protected because God was their refuge.*

*Beloved, you must come to the secret place of the Most High and dwell there before you can abide under the shadow of the Almighty, as our text says. The secret place is our Refuge, Jesus Christ, the Son of God. Come to Jesus through repentance and accept Him as your Lord and Saviour in order to enjoy His protection.*

*Obviously, whoever is not abiding in Christ is spiritually naked and exposed to the attacks and manipulations of demons. As long as you dwell in the secret place of the Most High, do not fear. He will protect you.*

*A Christian should as a matter of necessity pray if he does not want to die spiritually, just as no human being can survive for long without breathing. Prayer is the oxygen of the soul, and it is needed in the right quantity and quality. God, our Father, is keen to hear His children commune with Him.*

*R. A. Torry says, "We should be careful, what we ask from God. But when once we begin to pray for a thing, we should never give up praying for it until we receive it, or until God makes it very clear and definite that it is not His will to grant it." Fervent prayer is a kind of prayer that is full of passion, faith, sincerity and persistence.*

*If you desire healing, guidance, protection and breakthroughs in your endeavours, you need fervent prayer of faith and righteousness to achieve them. Biblical examples of those who prayed fervently in faith include: Elijah, Hezekiah, Nehemiah, Jehoshaphat, Moses, Hannah, and most of all, Jesus our Lord. You can be the next if you so desire.*
