LIVING IN SPIRITUAL DOMINION
Psalms 91:1-2
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.
Notable quote:
This dominion is not just about fighting off the enemy. It is about living victoriously in every area of our lives.
Message:
Brothers and sisters in Christ, have you ever felt powerless? Like the storms of life were raging around you, and you were just a tiny boat being tossed about? We have all been there. We face sickness, financial struggles, challenging marital, business relationships, and the ever-present weight of our own shortcomings. It is easy to feel overwhelmed, to feel like we are losing the battle.
But here's the truth, the glorious, empowering truth. We are not powerless! We are not fighting a losing battle! As believers, we have been given an authority so mighty, that it can calm the storms and move mountains. This authority is not earned, it is inherited. It is the very authority of Christ himself, bestowed upon us as his beloved children.
How do we live in dominion and authority? It is through deep intimacy with Christ. What you allow Him to make of you in the closet/private is what you will manifest in public. You can't be a defeated person in private and expect to be a Victor in public. Our Bible text says, "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty". If you read the whole of Psalm 91, you would realize that all the blessings of protection, security, prosperity, long life, listed in that chapter is based on the sole condition of intimacy with God. In Exodus 7:1, God made Moses a god spiritually, which is spiritual promotion that helped him to challenge and defeat Pharoah.
It is the amount of value and faith you place on your relationship with Christ that determines how much dominion you will be able to exercise in real life situations.
Talking about intimacy with God, it is your sincere intake of the word, and constant obedience that amounts to spiritual intimacy. Read 2 Corinthians 10:4-6.
Rremember Jesus in the desert, facing the temptations of Satan? Each time, Jesus rebuked the enemy with the same powerful words: "It is written!" He knew his dominion came from the Word of God, and he wielded it with confidence. And just like Jesus, we too have been given the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, to wield against the enemy's lies and attacks.
But this dominion is not just about fighting off the enemy. It is about living victoriously in every area of our lives. It is about speaking healing into our bodies, peace into our minds, and restoration into our lives. It is about walking in the fullness of who God created us to be, free from sin, fear, doubt, and insecurity.
The truth is, walking in dominion takes faith and prayer. It takes courage to stand firm on God's promises, even when we don't see the results yet. It takes persistence in prayer, refusing to give up until we see the breakthrough.
Luke chapter 18 presents us with a story of the persistent widow. She kept going back to the unjust judge, demanding justice, until finally, he obliged. Jesus used this parable to teach us about the importance of persistent prayer. He said, "Will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night?" (Luke 18:7).
There is a lion within each of us, a lion representing the very authority of Christ residing in our spirits. But often, that lion is asleep, unaware of its own strength. Today, I urge you to awaken the lion within. Study the Word, learn about your inheritance, and start speaking God's promises over your life. Don't be intimidated by the storms. Don't be discouraged by the battles. You are not powerless. You are a child of God, clothed in the armor of His righteousness, and equipped with the authority of Christ himself. So go forth, not in fear, but in faith, and claim the victory that is rightfully yours!
PRAYER
¶ Heavenly Father, help me by the grace of your Spirit, to be more intimate with you.
¶ Every satanic pull, that draws me away from God, be paralyzed in Jesus name.
¶ Every worldly distraction, that distances me from God, I overcome you in Jesus name.
¶ In the name of Jesus Christ, I receive the strength to resist the enemy.
¶ Father, grant me the grace to live in dominion.
¶ Father, help me to allow your word to dwell in me richly.
¶ Father, grant me the Spirit of prayer and supplication.
¶ In Jesus name, I receive the grace to be persistent in prayer.
¶ In the name of Jesus Christ, I overcome every storm in my life.
¶ By the authority in the name of Jesus Christ, I walk in dominion over the raging storms of life.
