Our Identity In Christ

Text: Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Note:
Your weaknesses do not disqualify you; rather, they become the canvas upon which God paints His strength. When you surrender to Him, you become vessels of His love and truth, shining His light in a dark world.

Bread for Today:
Living the spiritual life in the flesh speaks of the power of God in our weakness. This is profound truth. In our text, Paul says, "the life I now live in the flesh", is the life of God.
As a human being who is now born again, you may be a vessel of clay, fragile and imperfect, yet you are filled with the most precious treasure - Jesus Christ, and His Gospel. In your weakness, God’s power is magnified. You need to embrace this identity and consciousness as a vessel of His grace, sharing the treasure you hold with a world in need.

To understand this better, let us consider a few lessons from what Paul wrote in 2 Corinthians 4:7, "But we have this treasure in earthen vessels (jars of clay), that the excellency of the power may be of God, and not of us". He tells us that we possess a treasure in earthen vessels (jars of clay). This imagery invites us to explore the nature of the treasure we hold, the fragility of our humanity, and the incredible power of God that shines through our weaknesses.

Let us consider the treasure Paul speaks of; it is the presence of God, and the Gospel - the good news of Jesus Christ, the message of salvation, grace, and hope. It is the knowledge of God’s glory revealed in Christ (2 Corinthians 4:6). This treasure is not something we earn or deserve; it is a gift from God, bestowed upon us through His love and mercy.
As believers, we carry within us the very presence of God through the Holy Spirit. We have access to His wisdom, His strength, and His peace. This treasure is invaluable, surpassing all earthly riches. It is the source of our joy, our purpose, and our identity.

Now, let’s turn our attention to the earthen vessels. Paul’s choice of words is intentional. Jars of clay are everyday items in the ancient world - fragile, and of little value. This metaphor reminds us of our humanity and our limitations. Let me personalize this to you. You may be fragile, filled with imperfections and weaknesses, yet you have the greatest treasure in you. You often face challenges, trials, and suffering. You may feel inadequate, overwhelmed, or unworthy. Yet, it is precisely in your fragility that God’s power is most clearly displayed. Your weaknesses do not disqualify you; rather, they become the canvas upon which God paints His strength.
This is the crux of the message. When you acknowledge your limitations and surrender your weaknesses to Him, you create space for His strength to shine through you (2 Corinthians 12:9). He uses your struggles to demonstrate His faithfulness and grace. When you surrender to Him, you become vessels of His love and truth, shining His light in a dark world.

So how do you live as earthen vessel filled with this treasure? First, you must embrace your identity in Christ. Don't define yourself by your failures or your limitations; define yourself by the treasure you carry. Cultivate a deep relationship with God, spending time in His Word and in prayer, allowing His truth to fill you and transform you.
Lastly, you must be willing to share this treasure with others. Just as a jar of clay is meant to hold and display its contents, you are called to share the love and grace of God with those around you.

PRAYER
¶ I am a vessel of divine grace and power.
¶ I am a vessel of divine presence and word.
¶ I am a vessel of divine will and purpose.
¶ I am a vessel of divine love and gospel.
¶ I am a vessel of light and glory.
¶ Father, give me grace and power to overcome my weaknesses.
¶ Father, give me the power to surrender my weaknesses to you for strength.
¶ Father, let your grace and power manifest through my life.
¶ In the name of Jesus Christ, I receive grace to preach the gospel.
¶ Father, make me shine brightly for you.
¶ Holy Spirit, baptize me with your boldness.
¶ Father, let your strength and glory replace my weakness.
¶ I am a vessel of all surpassing power of God

WINNING THE MAIN WAR.

Text:
Romans 7:23
But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members.

Key Point:
Jesus said, if anyone will be his disciple, he must first die to self and take his cross.

Bread for Today:
The real battle you are involved in is within, not external. It is the war against self. Winning the war against yourself and your flesh is the path to ultimate victory. You have allowed your body to be your prison. Because the essence of you is not physical; the essence of you is spiritual. See Genesis 2:7.
You can't soar into the spiritual realms that your mind/brain is capable of, because you allow the lusts and appetites of your flesh to imprison your soul. Once you die to self, the glory of God hidden in you shall manifest. See John 12:24. Your mind is buried in the grave of your flesh. If your mind and spirit were free to soar from the confines of your flesh and its lusts/demands, then you would manifest the greatness of God. See Rom 8:2-8 and 19.
If you could become the master of yourself, through crucifixion, then you could become a master of the material universe, and be truly more than a conqueror. This is why Jesus said if anyone would be His disciple, that person must die to self, and take up the cross. Read the following Scriptures, Luke 9:23-25, 1 Corinthians 9:24-27, Romans 8:37.

Dying to self is a spiritual principle that refers to the process of surrendering one's own desires, interests, and will to God's will and purposes. It involves a willingness to let go of one's own ego, pride, and self-centeredness, and instead, embracing a life of humility, obedience, and surrender to God.
Galatians 2:20 says, "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me". Romans 6:6 further confirms as follows: "For we know that our old self was crucified with him so that the body ruled by sin might be done away with, that we should no longer be slaves to sin.

In simple terms, the process of dying to self involves surrendering one's own desires, interests, and will to God's will and purposes. It's a process that requires recognition of sin and self-centeredness, repentance and surrender, crucifying the flesh, and living by faith.
The benefits of dying to self include freedom from sin and self-centeredness, intimacy with God, humility and obedience, and fruitfulness and effectiveness.

PRAYER
¶ In the name of Jesus Christ, I receive grace to win the battle against self.

¶ In the name of Jesus Christ, I dethrone self and I enthrone Christ.

¶ Father, by the grace of your Spirit, I am crucified with Christ.

¶ Father, deliver my soul from the prison of self.
¶ Father, deliver my spirit from spiritual death.

¶ Father, let my spirit gain freedom from sin and self-centeredness.

¶ Lord, help me to live for you and not for self.

¶ In Jesus name, my old self is dead, I am a new creature.

¶ Father, empower my live to be fruitful for you.

LIVING IN SPIRITUAL DOMINION

Psalms 91:1-2
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the LORD, He is my refuge and my fortress: my God; in him will I trust.

Notable quote:
This dominion is not just about fighting off the enemy. It is about living victoriously in every area of our lives.

Message:
Brothers and sisters in Christ, have you ever felt powerless? Like the storms of life were raging around you, and you were just a tiny boat being tossed about? We have all been there. We face sickness, financial struggles, challenging marital, business relationships, and the ever-present weight of our own shortcomings. It is easy to feel overwhelmed, to feel like we are losing the battle.
But here's the truth, the glorious, empowering truth. We are not powerless! We are not fighting a losing battle! As believers, we have been given an authority so mighty, that it can calm the storms and move mountains. This authority is not earned, it is inherited. It is the very authority of Christ himself, bestowed upon us as his beloved children.

How do we live in dominion and authority? It is through deep intimacy with Christ. What you allow Him to make of you in the closet/private is what you will manifest in public. You can't be a defeated person in private and expect to be a Victor in public. Our Bible text says, "He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty". If you read the whole of Psalm 91, you would realize that all the blessings of protection, security, prosperity, long life, listed in that chapter is based on the sole condition of intimacy with God. In Exodus 7:1, God made Moses a god spiritually, which is spiritual promotion that helped him to challenge and defeat Pharoah.
It is the amount of value and faith you place on your relationship with Christ that determines how much dominion you will be able to exercise in real life situations.

Talking about intimacy with God, it is your sincere intake of the word, and constant obedience that amounts to spiritual intimacy. Read 2 Corinthians 10:4-6.
Rremember Jesus in the desert, facing the temptations of Satan? Each time, Jesus rebuked the enemy with the same powerful words: "It is written!" He knew his dominion came from the Word of God, and he wielded it with confidence. And just like Jesus, we too have been given the sword of the Spirit, the Word of God, to wield against the enemy's lies and attacks.

But this dominion is not just about fighting off the enemy. It is about living victoriously in every area of our lives. It is about speaking healing into our bodies, peace into our minds, and restoration into our lives. It is about walking in the fullness of who God created us to be, free from sin, fear, doubt, and insecurity.
The truth is, walking in dominion takes faith and prayer. It takes courage to stand firm on God's promises, even when we don't see the results yet. It takes persistence in prayer, refusing to give up until we see the breakthrough.

Luke chapter 18 presents us with a story of the persistent widow. She kept going back to the unjust judge, demanding justice, until finally, he obliged. Jesus used this parable to teach us about the importance of persistent prayer. He said, "Will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night?" (Luke 18:7).
There is a lion within each of us, a lion representing the very authority of Christ residing in our spirits. But often, that lion is asleep, unaware of its own strength. Today, I urge you to awaken the lion within. Study the Word, learn about your inheritance, and start speaking God's promises over your life. Don't be intimidated by the storms. Don't be discouraged by the battles. You are not powerless. You are a child of God, clothed in the armor of His righteousness, and equipped with the authority of Christ himself. So go forth, not in fear, but in faith, and claim the victory that is rightfully yours!

PRAYER
¶ Heavenly Father, help me by the grace of your Spirit, to be more intimate with you.

¶ Every satanic pull, that draws me away from God, be paralyzed in Jesus name.

¶ Every worldly distraction, that distances me from God, I overcome you in Jesus name.

¶ In the name of Jesus Christ, I receive the strength to resist the enemy.

¶ Father, grant me the grace to live in dominion.

¶ Father, help me to allow your word to dwell in me richly.

¶ Father, grant me the Spirit of prayer and supplication.

¶ In Jesus name, I receive the grace to be persistent in prayer.

¶ In the name of Jesus Christ, I overcome every storm in my life.

¶ By the authority in the name of Jesus Christ, I walk in dominion over the raging storms of life.

EMBRACING THE INDESTRUCTIBLE LIFE

Galatians 2:20
I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me; and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave Himself for me.

Notable quote:
An imperishable or indestructible life is not one that is immune to challenges or difficulties. rather, it is a life that is anchored in the unshakeable presence of God.

Message:
During my meditation and reflections, I observed that, as believers, we are often faced with challenges that test our faith and resilience. We may feel like our lives are fragile, vulnerable to the whims of circumstance and the uncertainties of the future. But today, I want to remind you that as children of God, we possess an imperishable life. Imperishable means indestructible life.
The apostle Paul writes in 1 Corinthians 3:16 that we are God's temple, and His Spirit dwells within us. This means that our lives are not our own, but are inhabited by the very presence of God. This reality gives us a great sense of security and hope.

An imperishable or indestructible life is not one that is immune to challenges or difficulties. rather, it is a life that is anchored in the unshakeable presence of God. It is a life that is rooted in the conviction that we are not alone, but are accompanied by the Spirit of God who strengthens, guides, and empowers us, and innumerable company of heavenly hosts. This imperishable life is characterized by some supernatural virtues as shown below:

1. Unshakeable hope: We have confidence that God is working all things together for our good, even in the midst of uncertainty.
2. Unwavering faith: We trust that God's presence and power are always available to us, no matter what challenges we face.
3. Unrelenting joy: We experience a deep and abiding joy that is not dependent on circumstances, but on the presence of God in our lives.

Let us consider some practical application of this discourse. How can we embrace this indestructible life?
1. Cultivate intimacy with God: Spend time in prayer, worship, and meditation, deepening your relationship with God.
2. Trust in God's presence: When faced with challenges, remind yourself that God is with you, and that His presence gives you strength and courage.
3. Live with hope and faith: Choose to live with hope and faith, even in the midst of uncertainty, knowing that God is working all things together for your good.

As we navigate the ups and downs of life, remember that you possess an indestructible life. You are God's temple, and His Spirit dwells within you. This reality shall give you hope, faith, and joy, even in the midst of challenges. You shall live with confidence, knowing that your life is anchored in the unshakeable presence of God.

PRAYER
¶ Father, thank you for blessing me with the imperishable life of Christ.

¶ In the name of Jesus Christ, I have Christ's life, and I'm indestructible.

¶ Holy Spirit, grant me deep awareness of the indestructible life of God.

¶ Father, grant me unshakable hope in Jesus name.

¶ In Jesus name, I receive grace to live with hope and faith, even in the midst of uncertainty.

¶ Father, help me to have nwavering faith in you.

¶ In Jesus name, I receive unrelenting and abiding joy.

¶ In Jesus name, I receive the grace to cultivate intimacy with you.

¶ Holy Spirit, help me to always be conscious of and trust in God's presence.
