SPECIAL APPRECIATION TO FORMER GOVERNOR OF ANAMBRA STATE PETER OBI.

Former Governor of Anambra state Mr Peter Obi donates 100million Naira to Catholic diocese of Nsukka to upgrade Bishop shanahan school of nursing and midwifery Nsukka to a College of medicine.

He stressed that the development of our primary healthcare and entire health sector especially nurses and midwives remained the bedrock of every primary healthcare in any country.

If they are equipped and well trained, infant and maternal mortality will be reduced to the barest minimum.

Investing in the health sector is an investment to humanities he said.

Obi stressed that his visit was as a result of phone call conversation between him and the Administrator of BSSHN, Rev Fr. Greg Onah, who solicited for help to enable the hospital to upgrade its school of nursing and midwifery to a college.

The N100m I donated is to ensure that the school is upgraded to a College of Nursing and Midwifery from now to 2023, he said.

He urged the Father Bishop of Nsukka Diocese Prof. Godfrey Onah and other church leaders to continue to pray for the country Specially now we are having security challenges in the country.

The Bishop of Nsukka Prof. Godfrey Onah thanked Obi for his generosity and assured him of efficient use of the amount donated.

We will continue to appreciate your kindness to Nsukka Catholic Diocese right from the time you were governor of Anambra State until now, you have continued to support us here.

Obi is one of Nigeria’s former governors and politicians who have maintained the integrity and passion to help the society.

Speaking also, Rev. Fr. Mellitus Ossai, Chairman Diocesan Hospitals’ Management Board thanked Obi for the donation which he said would move the school of nursing and Midwifery to a college of medicine.

Nsukka Diocesan Laity Council of Nigeria lost her SECRETARY Mrs. Maureen Nwodo to the cold hand of death.

When I heard the news about your death, my heart skipped
but after all I realized that you are no more. The hardest truth I am finding difficult to believe is that you are no more.
It is so hard to say goodbye to you Mrs. Nwodo Maureen.
Keep resting in the Lord as we find it difficult to believe it.
