Zionites, I hope he's communicating

When you invite the Pope to visit your country and pray with Catholics, the greatest thing he can ever do when he comes is to celebrate Mass and share the Holy Eucharist with the people.

When you invite a Bishop to your parish or to a gathering of Catholics, the greatest work he can ever do, and the very thing expected of him, is to celebrate Mass and share the Holy Eucharist with the people.

When you invite a priest to a Catholic gathering, whether it is a youth convention, a women’s or men’s prayer meeting, or any other gathering of Catholics that is designed for prayers, the greatest thing he can do is to celebrate Mass and share the Holy Eucharist with the people.

So, anytime you gather together in your prayer meetings or crusades, and still call yourselves Catholics, and invite a priest who later showed up, but the priest cannot celebrate Mass for you, or the organizer did not factor in the need for the celebration of the Holy Mass in such gathering, you probably don’t need any special message to tell you that something is wrong.

Either the priest has a problem, the gathering has K-leg in the eyes of the church, or perhaps both have problems.

Because if Catholics gather, or people who still believe they are wholly Catholics gather, and a Catholic priest or priests are present, and the gathering is not academic conference but meant to be for worship, yet the Eucharist…the very heart and summit of Catholic worship…is somehow missing, the reasonable thing is to ask: What exactly am I doing here?

Saint Gregory the Great (c. 540–604) was born into a wealthy Roman family but chose to dedicate his life to God. After serving in public office, he became a monk and later Pope Gregory I in 590.

As Pope, he cared deeply for the poor, strengthened the Church, reformed the liturgy, and worked tirelessly to spread the Gospel. He sent Saint Augustine of Canterbury and other missionaries to England, helping establish Christianity there.

Gregory was also a great teacher and writer. His famous work, Pastoral Rule, offered guidance to bishops and priests on how to shepherd God's people with wisdom, humility, and love. Because of his profound teaching, he was proclaimed a Doctor of the Church.

His life reminds us that true leadership in the Church is service to God and His people.

Let us pray 🙏

O Saint Gregory the Great, faithful servant of God and wise shepherd of the Church, pray for us. Obtain for us the grace to serve God with humility, love our neighbour sincerely, and remain faithful to the Gospel.

Help our priests, bishops, teachers, and all who serve the Church to lead God's people with wisdom and compassion.

May we, like you, use our gifts for the glory of God and the salvation of souls.

Why Does the Priest Cover His Hands with a Veil (Humeral Veil) During Adoration or Benediction?

The priest uses a veil to cover his hands, not because his hands are unworthy to touch the Body of Christ or even the monstrance that bears Him. After all, the priest usually consecrates the Eucharist and raises it up for all to see during Mass.

The reason why the priest uses the humeral veil is because, during adoration or Benediction, when the Eucharist is lifted by the priest, it is not the priest who blesses the people. The priest does not bless the people. Rather, Christ Himself directly blesses the people.

The veil covers the hands of the priest as a sign that he is not the one doing the blessing. It is like detaching himself so that you don’t think of him, but of Christ.

Do you see why it does not make sense that a priest is lifting the Holy Eucharist in a monstrance while someone is holding a microphone for him to either prophesy, blow air into the microphone, or squeeze his face and open his eyeballs as though it is through his eyes that the Eucharist becomes powerful?

Do not join in the abuse. Don’t validate such abuse by applauding or shouting Amen to such things.

Also, dear Catholics, the Eucharist in your village chapel is not less powerful than the one at that adoration ground, carried by the priest you erroneously tag as “powerful.”

There is no powerful priest or minister. We only have a powerful God.

There is no miracle-working priest or minister. We only have a miracle-working God.
