BUILDING BRIDGES
Ephesians 4:3 — “Endeavouring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.”
Romans 12:18 — “If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.”
Matthew 5:9 — “Blessed are the peacemakers…”
Amos 3:3 — “Can two walk together, except they be agreed?”
The kingdom of God advances through divine connections and healthy relationships.
1. JESUS IS THE MASTER BRIDGE BUILDER
2 Corinthians 5:18
“…God… hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ…”
Sin created separation between man and God, but Jesus became the bridge of reconciliation.
The cross is the greatest bridge ever built.
Jesus connected:
humanity back to God,
broken people back to hope,
sinners back to grace.
If we are followers of Christ, we must become bridge builders and not bridge destroyers.

2. BRIDGES CREATE ACCESS
Without bridges:
people remain separated,
opportunities remain unreachable,
destinies remain disconnected.
Relationships are bridges to:
wisdom,
opportunities,
mentorship,
favor,
and growth.

A bridge over a river allows movement to places people could not access before.
Some people are one relationship away from their next level.

3. SOME PEOPLE BURN BRIDGES TOO QUICKLY
Proverbs 18:19
“A brother offended is harder to be won than a strong city…”
One of the greatest mistakes in life is destroying valuable relationships carelessly.
Some people:
speak harshly,
keep offenses,
dishonor people,
act proudly,
or disconnect emotionally.
Not every disagreement should lead to separation.
Maturity is knowing how to preserve relationships while resolving differences.
Samson destroyed relationships through uncontrolled emotions and pride, and eventually lost destiny help.

4. HUMILITY IS A MAJOR TOOL FOR BUILDING BRIDGES
Philippians 2:3
“…in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.”
Pride destroys relationships quickly.
Humility:
listens,
learns,
apologizes,
forgives,
and values people.
You cannot build strong bridges with a proud heart.
Abraham allowed Lot to choose land first to preserve peace.
— Genesis 13:8-9
Humility preserved relationship and prevented conflict.

5. COMMUNICATION BUILDS OR DESTROYS BRIDGES
Proverbs 15:1
“A soft answer turneth away wrath…”
Words are powerful.
Some people destroy relationships through:
harsh communication,
disrespectful tone,
gossip,
assumptions,
and uncontrolled anger.
Healthy communication creates understanding.

6. FORGIVENESS REPAIRS BROKEN BRIDGES
Colossians 3:13
“Forgiving one another…”
Nobody can maintain relationships without forgiveness.
Offense is inevitable, but bitterness is a choice.
People who refuse to forgive eventually become isolated emotionally and spiritually.
Joseph forgave his brothers despite betrayal.
Instead of revenge, he became a bridge of preservation for his family.
— Genesis 45:4-8
Forgiveness preserves destiny relationships.

7. UNITY CREATES STRENGTH
Ecclesiastes 4:9
“Two are better than one…”
There is power in agreement and unity.
The enemy fights unity because unity produces strength.
When people work together:
visions advance,
churches grow,
businesses flourish,
and families become stronger.
The Tower of Babel showed the power of unity even among unbelievers.
— Genesis 11:6
If unity can produce such results negatively, imagine what godly unity can produce.

8. BUILD BRIDGES ACROSS GENERATIONS
One major problem in many places today is generational division.
Older people feel dishonored.
Younger people feel misunderstood.
God wants fathers and sons to walk together.
Malachi 4:6
“And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children…”
Wisdom flows through connection.
Young people need mentorship.
Older people need honor and cooperation.
🔥🔥
9. BRIDGE BUILDERS ARE KINGDOM MINDED
Bridge builders do not spread division.
They:
unite people,
encourage reconciliation,
solve conflicts,
create peace,
and connect people to purpose.
Matthew 5:9
“Blessed are the peacemakers…”
Peacemakers carry God’s nature.
🔥🔥
10. SOME BRIDGES MUST BE BUILT DELIBERATELY
Relationships do not grow automatically.
Healthy bridges require:
intentionality,
communication,
patience,
understanding,
consistency,
and sacrifice.
You cannot desire strong relationships while neglecting people.
