FIRST RESPONDERS
The First Responders Department is an arm of the RCCG Team Nehemiah Organization that is responsible for providing First Aid care, CPR and transfer of accident victims/emergencies to the nearest Health Centre within the RCCG camp.
The First Responders Team (FRT) consists of Medical Doctors, Nurses, Healthcare assistants and other trained members/volunteers of organizations connected with Healthcare.
Our Operation
The FRT are trained to respond swiftly to emergency conditions of patients before they get to the hospital in the bid to save their lives.
At the moment, FRT has only one ambulance which is situated at a strategic point of the Redemption camp for easy accessibility.
The FRT members are distributed across different sections of the auditorium to do hourly checks on all congregants within and around their beats. They are equipped with personal protective equipment s (PPEs), First Aid kits and connected Radios to call for back up in case of emergencies.
First Aid is the initial care given by a Responder with little equipment to someone who is injured or suddenly becomes ill.
The role of a first responder is to provide immediate, lifesaving, medical care before the arrival of further medical help. This could include performing procedures such as:
1. Placing an unconscious casualty into the recovery position.
2. Performing Cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
3. Helping and/or reassuring someone with Asthma or breathing problem.
4. To control a wound that is bleeding severely.
5. Help someone who is choking.
6. Diabetic Emergencies.
7. Broken Bones.
8. Allergies.
9. Heart Attack
10. Stoke.
