Turn Back to Allah Before It's Too Late

No matter how many sins you have committed, the door of repentance is still open as long as your soul has not reached your throat and the sun has not risen from the west.

Allah says:
> "Say, 'O My servants who have transgressed against themselves, do not despair of the mercy of Allah. Indeed, Allah forgives all sins. Indeed, it is He who is the All-Forgiving, the Most Merciful.'" (Qur'an 39:53)

Today is an opportunity. Tomorrow is never guaranteed.

Return to your Lord with a sincere heart. Increase in repentance, seek His forgiveness often, and strengthen your relationship with Allah. True peace begins with turning back to Him.

This beautiful dua is a daily shield gifted to us by the Prophet ﷺ. With just a few sincere words, you place your trust in Allah, seek His protection from misguidance, ظلم (wrongdoing), mistakes, and ignorance. Then the angels give you glad tidings:

"You have been protected, guided, and sufficed."

Imagine beginning every journey knowing that Allah has placed you under His care. No security is greater than the protection of Allah, and no companion is better than His remembrance.

Make this dua a habit for yourself, your spouse, your children, and your loved ones. Memorize it, teach it, and share it with others. Perhaps one reminder you pass on today will become someone's daily practice, and every time they recite it, you will continue to receive reward, by the permission of Allah.

We often overlook the greatest blessings because they have always been with us. It is only when they are taken away that we realize how precious they truly were. Don’t wait until health turns into illness, youth into old age, or life into regret before your heart learns gratitude.

Thank Allah while you still can. Turn back to Him while the door of repentance remains open. Every heartbeat is a mercy, every breath is a reminder that Allah has not given up on you. This moment is another chance to draw closer to Him.

FIVE INTERESTING VIRTUES OF THE DAY OF ASHURA:

1. EXPIATION OF SINS FOR THE PAST YEAR
One of Ashura’s most remarkable virtues is its promise of forgiveness. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) said,

“Fasting on the Day of Ashura, I hope, will expiate the sins of the previous year” (Sahih Muslim, Book 6, Hadith 2603).

This spiritual cleansing makes fasting on the 10th of Muharram a cherished opportunity for Muslims seeking renewal. By fasting on the 9th and 10th or 10th and 11th, as recommended, you maximize this blessing, purifying your heart and strengthening your resolve.

2. COMMEMORATION OF PROPHET MUSA'S DELIVERANCE
Ashura marks the day Allah saved Prophet Musa (Moses) and the Israelites from Pharaoh’s oppression by parting the Red Sea (Sahih Bukhari). Jewish communities fasted on this day in gratitude, and the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) adopted this practice, encouraging Muslims to honor Allah’s mercy.
