D-Day!

All is set. Looking forward to having you on the platform this evening for the meeting.

It promises to be a good time of our lives. Come and invite a friend.

See you soon!

When Paul was giving conditions for knowing widows that are widows indeed, he did say as one of the conditions that "she must have washed the saints' feet." A mere reading of the passage is enough to tell that Paul wasn't referring to the literal washing of the saints' feet as a condition for being recognized as a widow indeed. "The saints' feet" is an idiom or metaphor that connotes a clear meaning which was common among the early believers. In Biblidiom, I hope to glean such phrases, metaphors, and idioms that are loaded and laced with doctrinal and theological meaning.

1 Tim 5: 10
Well reported of for good works; if she have brought up children, if she have lodged strangers, IF SHE HAVE WASHED THE SAINTS' FEET, if she have relieved the afflicted, if she have diligently followed every good work.

If we understand the grieviosness of our state and the degree of our fall, the question would never be "why should anyone go to hell?," but "why should anyone be in heaven?"

But then, herein lies the paradox: no one who made it to heaven thinks he deserves it, and no one who made it to hell thinks he doesn't deserve it.

Some people have learned it wrongly, to the point of seeing the wrong as normal and the normal as abnormal. Unfortunately, for some, it's because of those they learned from; those who deify themselves, clamour for honour, and seek undue respect...

Because, how can someone be discouraged when you didn't put up a pompous attitude when they came around you? The only problem is that you didn't act like their MoG. To them, how to be a man of God is to sound high and deify oneself.

Once students of this bad school are granted access, they trivialize it, and it's because they can't handle the simplicity of Christ and the humility of the Gospel in the life of a man. They have become swines, cast not your pearls before them.

They come to you with excitement, zest, and zeal; it's only a strange fire lit from that strange school.

Be watchful!

The transcendence and distinctness of the deity which some Christians now want to remove from Christianity, was really the only reason why anyone wanted to be a Christian.
Christianity was the answer to a riddle, not the last truism uttered after a long talk.

Context is very paramount in Biblical interpretation, knowing that the scripture wasn't written in a vacuum but a particular milieu in history. Hence, it is necessary that we understand the context into/from which it was written. In doing this, we need to be able to identify metaphors from literal language and distinguish idioms from literal statements. Moreover, there is a need to probe Biblical idioms as they are not common to our context, so as to get the original meaning as it was understood by the first recipients.

It is to this course that I invite you!

There was a Peter who had a spectacular vision of glory from God to mobilize him for a mission trip to the gentiles, a mission that wasn't common at the time... When he returned from that trip, the brethren critiqued his trip and asked him for a reason for such an obvious disobedience in ministry. Peter, in turn, in all humility, narrated his vision to the brethren and the necessity of his trip.

Whereas, there's a Mr. K in 2026 who, because of his self-glorifying and self-gratifying desire, was critiqued, and then in turn sat behind the ring light in all pomposity to call the brethren derogatory names and defame the precious Faith handed over to us. Shame in broad daylight. Work Dey!

There are two extremes into which our attitude towards receiving from men can fall. One is to have a deterministic view that the giver couldn't have done otherwise because it is God that compelled him; the other is to have a humanistic view that it is the giver's act of kindness, and not God's providence, that made the person give to you. In both ways, it leads to ingratitude, either towards God and/or men. The balance is to receive every gift given with gratitude towards God for His provision and the giver for the act of kindness.

Meanwhile, the thing called "brotherhood," as referred to by netizens, is not of God; likewise, the thing called "sisterhood." It is a social engineering tactic to conform men and women to certain ideals and ideologies that are strange to God's ideal of the man He made in the beginning. Next time you hear "the brotherhood is proud of you," take your lens (take a closer look).

Nine out of ten times, the phrase "the brotherhood is proud of you" is an appraisal and affirmation of the fallen man and his manner.

People who don't read C.S. Lewis' books, or those who read them but never grasp them, always tend to disgrace themselves.

Lewis made this quote in his book "The Problem of Pain." And his argument was simple:

Lewis meant that those in hell are there by their own choice, locked in by their own refusal to turn to God, not because God excluded them. It's about the nature of free will and hell.

Lewis ended that argument with another quote:
"In the end, there are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'Thy will be done."

Okay, that is enough!

But was it really meant to be a critique of Lewis' work? Haba!
