To Each According To His Actions
In this passage, God is telling us that we are responsible for our actions and we will be punished or rewarded accordingly. Parents are not held accountable for the actions of their children and children should not be held accountable for the actions of their parents. There are places today where parents can be held responsible for the actions of their children and some children are punished in public opinion for the actions of their parents. Yes, we are all responsible for protecting our children and not leaving dangerous substances or objects around that could cause them harm or present a danger to others.

For example, parents who leave loaded guns where their children can get to them deserve punishment if someone is harmed. Parents are responsible for keeping drugs out of the hands of children as well as dangerous chemicals. But, they are not responsible if one of their children commits a crime. Children often suffer when their parent commits a crime or is otherwise considered unfit. They can be bullied by their peers or considered to be undesirable by the parents of their friends. In Jesus time, the man born blind was asked if he or his parents had sinned in order that he might suffer this affliction. Jesus said that neither was responsible. If we sin, we will be punished, usually because sin has its own natural consequences. If we do what is right, we will be rewarded, usually because doing good to others also has consequences. Either way, the reward or the punishment is on us.
Prayer πŸ™
Loving God, you will never punish us for the actions of others. We have free will and that allows us to choose to follow your path for us, or to deny you. May we always choose you. Amen.

MORNING DevotionalπŸ“– Friday 11th February, 2022
READING πŸ“–πŸ“–
For we brought nothing into this world, and it is certain we can carry nothing out.And having food and raiment let us be therewith content. 1 Timothy 6:7-8
INSPIRATIONAL πŸ’“πŸ’“
This bible verse sums up the reason we need to be content: nothing that we attain on this earth, and is of this world, will last. No matter how much money we make, or the material possessions we attain, they will remain on this earth when we die. Nothing monetary or material will contribute to our lives in heaven – but the work we do for God, which is heavenly work, will. Set your eyes on the right things and make the things of God your priority.
PRAYER πŸ™πŸ™
Dear God, I pray that I never get caught up in the rat race for material possessions or monetary gain. I know that making these things the center of my life will profit me nothing. Father, I ask that You help me to be content in all situations, knowing that as long as I have You, Lord, I have everything I need. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

MORNING DevotionalπŸ“– Thursday 10th February, 2022
READING πŸ“–πŸ“–
And I have declared unto them thy name, and will declare it: that the love wherewith thou hast loved me may be in them, and I in them. John 17:26.
INSPIRATIONAL πŸ’“πŸ’“
Jesus came to tell us about God, the Father, and who he really is. There were a lot of misconceptions about God before Jesus came – and even while he still walked the earth. Many saw God as an angry, God who was set on punishing his people. Jesus came to show us who God really is – a loving Father who was set on saving his children from their sinful ways and setting them free from the enemy’s oppression. The work has been passed on to us now, God’s children, to continue preaching on the love of the Father, which manifested in his son, Jesus Christ.
PRAYER πŸ™πŸ™
Dear God, as each day passes, I learn of You and Your love more and more. Lord, I pray that more of Your children – and those who are lost – will come to truly know who You are as well. I pray that they will be exposed to the truth about Your love and they will be compelled to receive Christ into their lives. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.

MORNING DevotionalπŸ“– Wednesday 9th February 2022.
READING πŸ“–πŸ“–
Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear:For our God is a consuming fire. Hebrew 12:28-29.
INSPIRATIONAL πŸ’“πŸ’“
A Kingdom that cannot be moved, cannot ever be shaken or pass away, that is, the everlasting Kingdom of God, is coming. And the Church of Christ will reign with Him in that Kingdom. This ought to cause us to seek God's grace so we can begin already to serve him, seeing we shall serve him in that Kingdom forever.
PRAYER πŸ™πŸ™
Prepare me, O Lord, for my future state. Work in me now to teach me Your ways and Your truths. Move me to serve You with joy and determination. I will serve You forever in Heaven and in the Kingdom of God; let me begin that service even now, today. Amen.

MORNING DevotionalπŸ“– Tuesday 8th February 2022
READING πŸ“–πŸ“–
But now hath God set the members every one of them in the body, as it hath pleased him.And if they were all one member, where were the body? But now are they many members, yet but one body. 1 Corinthians 12:18-20
INSPIRATIONAL πŸ’“πŸ’“
God has determined which spiritual gifts to give to which believers in his Church. He so arranged this as it seemed good and pleasing in his sight. He did not merely give an opportunity to have any spiritual gift one might want to each person, but he himself chose how to distribute them, for the good of the Body of Christ as a whole.
PRAYER πŸ™πŸ™
Let me not envy the spiritual gift of another member of your Body, Lord. How comical and foolish for the foot to envy the hand, the eye or the nose! How foolish for one part of the body to say it has no need of another part! I thank you, Lord, that You gave the Church the gifts it needs to grow and live for You, and I thank You for the spiritual gifts of others that I have benefited from.

MORNING DevotionalπŸ“– Monday 7th January 2022
READING πŸ“–πŸ“–
And when ye stand praying, forgive, if ye have ought against any: that your Father also which is in heaven may forgive you your trespasses. Mark 11 :25
INSPIRATIONAL πŸ’“πŸ’“
Jesus taught that an unforgiving spirit toward someone who has wronged us, or we think has wronged us, can hinder our prayers. It is better to go and be reconciled with your brother or sister in Christ and pray later than to pray to God while bitterness is brewing in your heart.
PRAYER πŸ™πŸ™
O God who forgave me of all my sins, which were many and grievous, let there not be found in me a sinful, unforgiving spirit. How can I refuse to forgive a trifle when you have forgiven me so much? How can I hold that against someone that God has already forgiven them for? Teach me to forgive and forget, O Lord.

MORNING DevotionalπŸ“– Saturday 5th February 2022
READING πŸ“–πŸ“–
As the LORD commanded Moses his servant, so did Moses command Joshua, and so did Joshua; he left nothing undone of all that the LORD commanded Moses. Joshua 11:15.
INSPIRATIONAL πŸ’“πŸ’“
Joshua did not leave the Canaanites alive when he conquered the cities of the land, but obeyed Moses and ultimately God. God knew that his people would intermarry and intermingle with the Canaanites and serve their false gods if they did not clear the land of them. But those that followed Joshua failed to obey this command, and indeed the people of Canaan became a snare to them.
PRAYER πŸ™πŸ™
You, Lord, know what will be a temptation to us and how others will influence us. You teach us to choose godly friends and to avoid ungodly ones. You would keep us away from any things or practices of the world that might lead us away from you. May we yield to your wisdom and not trust in our own.

MORNING DevotionalπŸ“– Friday 4th Feb. 2022
READING πŸ“–πŸ“–
The blind receive their sight, and the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, and the deaf hear, the dead are raised up, and the poor have the gospel preached to them. Matthew 11:5.
INSPIRATIONAL πŸ’“πŸ’“
It is only the blind, lame, leprous, deaf, and dead who could receive healing, cleansing, and resurrection. The well had no need of it. And it is only those who are spiritually blind, cripples, lepers, deaf, and dead who receive miraculous spiritual intervention. And it is only those who recognize their spiritual poverty who are receptive to the Gospel message.
PRAYER πŸ™πŸ™
O Lord, I was blind but you gave me eyes to see spiritual truth. I was lame but you make me walk in your Word. I was unclean but you healed my moral guilt and pollution. I was deaf to the things of God, but you opened my spiritual ears and now I can hear and obey you. I was dead to you, but you gave me your life. I had nothing to offer you, being poor in spirit, but you have made me rich in spiritual blessings.

MORNING DevotionalπŸ“– Thursday 3rd Feb. 2022
READING πŸ“–πŸ“–
For the earth is the Lord's, and the fulness thereof. 1 Corinthians 10:26
INSPIRATIONAL πŸ’“πŸ’“
All of the earth belongs to God its Creator, and all of the bounty it contains also belongs to him. We can enjoy earthly blessings as believers, knowing they fall from the hand of God to us. While spiritual blessings are of greater value, God gives us earthly blessings to enjoy as well.
PRAYER πŸ™πŸ™
May I ever recognize every gift I enjoy as coming from You. Your gifts are too numerous for me to count, and so often I fail to give You thanks. Teach me to be ever thankful for all things You have given me and to praise You for them. Let me love the Giver more than the gift.

MORNING DevotionalπŸ“– Wednesday 2nd Feb. 2022.
READING πŸ“–πŸ“–
The cup of blessing which we bless, is it not the communion of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, is it not the communion of the body of Christ? 1 Corinthians 10:16.
INSPIRATIONAL πŸ’“πŸ’“
The Lord's Supper, or "Communion," is a special time for believers to remember the great sacrifice Jesus made for us on the cross. The wine represents his shed blood and the bread his broken body. To approach such a solemn ceremony with a flippant attitude is to disrespect Christ and his sacrifice for sin.
PRAYER πŸ™πŸ™
When I take communion with Your people at church, Lord, let me examine myself and ensure that I drink and eat respectfully and without unconfessed sin in my life. But let me have communion with You at all times, not only during the Lord's Supper or at church. May I have fellowship with You and Your Son Jesus and with all of Your children every day, Amen.

Happy New Month
MORNING DevotionalπŸ“– Tuesday 1st February 2022
READING πŸ“–πŸ“–
For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to every one that believeth. Romans 10:4
INSPIRATIONAL πŸ’“πŸ’“
Christ has fulfilled the Law, keeping it perfectly while he walks the earth. His righteous life becomes the basis of our justification, through faith, before God. Everyone who believes has an interest in his blood shed on the cross. Everyone who confesses, as it were, his sins and reaches out his hand to place it on the Lamb of God, has his guilt borne by him and receives his righteousness from him.
PRAYER πŸ™πŸ™
Lord, how foolish to try to keep the Law so as to earn salvation, when I am not able to keep it and Your Son has already kept it to perfection. Those who seek salvation by some man-invented way forsake their own mercy and walk down the broad path that leads to destruction. I thank you for Your grace-gift of Christ's righteousness, without which I could never stand before You.
