ZOI TEENS- THURSDAY 28/08/24.

TOPIC: RESPECT.

SCRIPTURE: Romans 12:10.
“Love one another with brotherly affection. Outdo one another in showing honour”.

There was a girl who lived with her aunt. Her aunt loved her so dearly that, she handed over most of the household activities into her care to oversee. There was also a young man, whose father had died and the same aunt also took him in to help him.

Now being a busy person, their aunt wasn’t always around which left everyone in the house at the mercy of this young lady. She became power drunk and tormented the lives of the others. She would starve anyone for unnecessary reasons and speak very rudely and disrespect everyone. Eventually, the young man left and excelled in life. He became the manager of a big company, and returned home to greet his aunt.

Meanwhile, the girl who was disrespectful also graduated and was actively looking for a job. When they met each other at the house, she was still the same disrespectful lady but all of a sudden, she started showering this young man with honour and asked for a position in his company. Now, remembering how this lady treated him and the others, even watching how she was still behaving, by being selectively respectful, he gave the slot to someone else. He wouldn’t want such a person to corrupt the company or treat people badly around him.

There is nothing to gain from disrespect other than strife and loosing God's blessings. Many are selective with who they honour, but the Bible clearly states in the book of Peter to honour everyone.

“Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the emperor” (1 Peter 2:17).

We cannot afford to be selective in respecting others because in truth, we do not know who is who in the eyes of the Lord. For whosoever you honour, you honour God in return and then yourself. We do not give respect to gain something in return, it is simply an act of kindness and obedience to God's word that promotes peace and blessings upon our lives. Even a little child loves to be recognized and honoured. Respect should be given to everyone irrespective of their status.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father I thank you for your word today, help me to honour you, my family and everyone I come in contact with in Jesus Name, Amen.

ZOI MESSAGE: WEDNESDAY 29/08/24.

TOPIC: WISDOM IN LOVE.

SCRIPTURE: 1 John 4:16
So we have come to know and to believe the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever abides in love abides in God, and God abides in him.

One word frees us of all the weight and pain in life....that word is love. One who has experienced love has love to give out. The pure undiluted love of God bestowed on us by our heavenly Father is easily seen by how we treat others.

Love is the beauty of the soul. When one is living in love, peace is experienced. It is important to note that we can love with wisdom even in the face of battles, trials and temptations.
Simply put- we can win without fighting. Win by wisdom and love.

Victory without a fight is possible! This is God doing the fighting on your behalf while you watch the destruction and the downfall of your enemies.
Beloved, don’t live a life of denial or defeat, be on God’s side and let Him fight for you! Proverbs 4:6 says- Do not abandon wisdom, and she will protect you; love her, and she will keep you safe.

God is love, which makes the Word of God the perfect source to know what true love means and how we can love others as God loves us and dwell in peace amongst the brethren.
Hold on to the words of wisdom and truth today. Take particular note of your weaknesses and find the hidden strengths in them.

Stay calm, be bold and confident, team up with trusted allies, avoid engaging the enemy, build yourself up instead of trying to bring your attackers down.
Look for the positive side of every situation. Wicked and chaotic people are often frustrated when all their efforts to bring you down only brings out the goodness in you.
There is wisdom in love. Employ it today.

PRAYER: Dear God, thank you for filling me with the Spirit of love. Help me to love others as you do in Jesus Name. Amen.

ZOI KIDS: THURSDAY 29/08/24.

TOPIC: DO NOT WAIT TO BE TOLD.

MEMORY VERSE: Colossians 3:23.
Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.

Too many people wait for things to be done by others. They run away from work and responsibilities and allow others do all the hard chores.

In school and at home, if you see that something needs to be done like sweeping or washing, don’t wait around for someone to tell you what to do before you do it.

Lazy people leave things undone while great leaders on the other hand, take initiative and, recognizing what needs to be done, take charge and ensure that the work is completed.

Leaders do not wait to be told what to do, they act!
The “It’s not my job” attitude is what keeps people from advancing in their careers and life.

Beloved, do things to please God. Be a hardworking and smart child. Grow into a responsible leader for Christ.

PRAYER: Father thank you for giving me strength and wisdom. Help me to take responsibility and do all I am told to do in Jesus Name. Amen.

ZOI TEENS: TUESDAY 27/08/24.

TOPIC: DISLOYALTY.

SCRIPTURE: Exodus 32:23.
“For they said to me, ‘Make a god for us who will go before us; for this Moses, the man who brought us up from the land of Egypt, we do not know what has become of him.”

The Israelites were people, who had a very short span of loyalty. With all the signs and wonders God performed both physically and spiritually for their sakes, they still grumbled against God and His prophet “Moses” at every little setback or difficulty.
I always say that they most likely had a short memory or were just very unsatisfied and ungrateful people.

This is the story of some people today. Do not be the kind of person that the breeze blows off so easily and is quick to bite the hands that once helped them.
Do not be too quick to turn on others. In desperation for vanity (things of the world), some christians begin to do unthinkable things. Some of us cannot be pointed out as trusted people because we are known for disloyalty and betrayals.

Today God is reminding us about the need to stay true to people irrespective of any season, always remember to stay loyal to your associates, your family and friends.
Be a trust worthy person, be someone people can rely on.
Make living easier for you and your loved ones. From today, stay true in every relationship you find yourself. Be selfless, doing good always and the Lord’s blessings will be upon you in Jesus name. Amen.

PRAYER: Heavenly Father, thank you for your word today, help me to stay true in all my relationships and beyond in Jesus name. Amen.

ZOI MESSAGE: TUESDAY 27/08/24.

TOPIC: TRUSTING JESUS THAT IS ALL.

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 37:3-9.
Trust in the Lord and do good; Dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture. Take delight in the Lord, And he will give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way to the Lord; Trust in him and he will do this: He will make your righteous reward shine like the dawn, Your vindication like the noonday sun. Be still before the Lord And wait patiently for him; Do not fret when people succeed in their ways, When they carry out their wicked schemes. Refrain from anger and turn from wrath; Do not fret—it leads only to evil. For those who are evil will be destroyed, But those who hope in the Lord will inherit the land.

Trusting the Lord completely and letting go is like saying- Lord, I commit to you to show your words true in my life. Simply trusting every day, is building faith that will last for destiny fulfilment and divine rewards.

There’s this song that breaks the topic of trust so beautifully. The writer wrote;

“Simply trusting every day. Trusting through a stormy way; Even when my faith is small, Trusting Jesus, that is all. Trusting as the moments fly, Trusting as the days go by; Trusting Him whate’er befall, Trusting Jesus, that is all. Brightly doth His Spirit shine Into this poor heart of mine; While He leads I cannot fall; Trusting Jesus, that is all. Singing if my way is clear, Praying if the path be drear; If in danger for Him call; Trusting Jesus, that is all. Trusting Him while life shall last, Trusting Him till earth be past; Till within the jasper wall, Trusting Jesus, that is all.

Beloved, trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart. Shalom.

PRAYER: Dear God. Thank you for the privilege of knowing you. I will delight myself in your ways and I will tell about your goodness all day long. In Jesus Name. Amen.

ZOI MESSAGE: MONDAY, 26/08/24.

TOPIC: FAITH WITHOUT BORDERS.

SCRIPTURE: Hebrews 11:6
And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.

When we have new failures and fears, it is easy to lose hope and falter in faith. We wonder if God has a plan for our lives, and we begin to question if God is real or if He really cares about us.
Beloved, God is real and He truly cares. Faith is the bedrock of our relationship with God, it is what our confidence and conviction is based on.

Without faith, it is IMPOSSIBLE to please our Father. Anyone who comes to him must believe that He exists and that He rewards those who earnestly seek Him.

God wants us to rely on Him for all that we need and do. He wants us to put Him first and recognise Him as the authority over our lives. Living a submitted life to the Holy Spirit ensures that our faith remains strong and unwavering. The Holy Spirit ensures that we’re always in a mind-set that pleases the Father through the Son- Jesus Christ.

In 2 Corinthians 5:7, Paul teaches that- We live by faith, not by sight.
Today, live by faith. See through the eyes of the Holy Spirit. Set your mind on things of the Kingdom of God and you will never get it wrong.

PRAYER: Oh Lord, have mercy on me. I have total and complete faith in you, that what I have committed into your hands is safe and perfect in Jesus Name. Amen.

ZOI TEENS: MONDAY, 26/08/24.

TOPIC: SPEAKING CARELESSLY.

SCRIPTURE: Psalm 141:3, Proverbs 10:19.
“Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; Keep watch over the door of my lips [to keep me from speaking thoughtlessly].”
Sin is not ended by multiplying words, but the prudent hold their tongues.

Children of God, always be mindful of the words that come out of your mouths. The Bible is teaching us today, about the dangers of speaking carelessly. Sometimes when you don’t control your words, you end up saying unnecessary things that can cause harm to yourself and to others.

We can contradict ourselves through our words. We can hurt others through our words, we can kill others through our words, we can break the hearts of people we love mostly through our words.

Today our Lord is saying think before speaking so as not to cause pain to others. Think before you spread that information about a person. Think before you speak especially to strangers.

Discretion is a gift and a strength to success. Do not share information about your progress too early and to the wrong people. Let the Lord God season your speech with salt and make every word that comes out of your mouth pleasing, wholesome, to correct or to bring value to the people.

REMEMBER: Sin is not ended by multiplying words, but the prudent hold their tongues.

PRAYER: Thank the Lord for today, father help me to set a guard over my lips always and help me to speak carefully in Jesus name. Amen.
