Jacob's final words about his children were partly blessing and cursing. He was not to change it, as some of us would reject it as 'not our portion'. He relayed it as he was shown. In Genesis 49:1, he called his sons and told them what would befall them in the last days. May we fall on the right side of prophecy, in Jesus' name, Amen.

In Genesis 37:22 Reuben had a great plan to save Joseph, no matter how good it was, divine destiny must take its course. He said unto them, Shed no blood, but cast him into this pit and lay no hand upon him; that he might rid him out of their hands.
In Genesis 42:Reuben remembered he forbade them not to sin against the child; they would not hear.
In Genesis 37:26 Judah said unto his brethren, What profit is it if we slay our brother? His move to sell him was to send him to his divine destiny. This time, In Genesis 43:9, he was to protect Benjamin. Judah vowed to be surety for him. He said of my hand shalt thou require him: if I bring him not unto thee, then let me bear the blame. However, by divine arrangement Joseph was not to return to Israel, it was Israel that would eventually go to Joseph in Egypt. Your divine destiny must be fulfilled no matter the odds.

Although everyone may desire victory, only God determines who to bless. As recorded in Genesis 34:23, Shechem assumed that Israel would eventually integrate into their society, thinking, 'Will we not acquire their livestock, property, and all their possessions?' In contrast, Israel responded swiftly, as seen in Genesis 34:27, where they killed the males in Shechem with the edge of the sword and pillaged the city, taking all their wealth, children, and wives. May God deliver us from unexpected doom this year in Jesus' name, Amen.

In Genesis 27:3-4 Isaac was craving for savoury meat, such as he loves. This time it was tied to his blessing. '' that I may eat; that my soul may bless thee before I die.'' it appeared Rebecca knew the recipe but had not been doing it. When she heard it was linked to a blessing, she prepared it perfectly. If she had not known how to prepare it Jacob, even with the birthright, would have lost out. Many old people may have died with their blessings because the young people have neglected them.
