It Is Not Good

“And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.”Genesis 2:18

When God created the heavens and the earth, He looked at His work and declared that it was good. Yet in the midst of perfection, God Himself identified something that was not good. He saw that man was alone, and He did not ignore it. God spoke into that situation and provided a solution.

This teaches us a powerful truth: when God says something is not good, He never leaves it that way.

Beloved, there are situations in our lives today that God is also looking at and declaring, “It is not good.”
It may be that He is saying it is not good that you are barren.
It may be that He is saying it is not good that you are struggling in poverty.
It may be that He is saying it is not good that your children are going wayward.
It may be that He is saying it is not good that your joy, peace, or health has been attacked.

Just as God did not abandon Adam in his condition, He will not abandon you in yours. The same God who identified the problem also released the provision. When He said, “It is not good,” He immediately followed it with divine action.

As this year runs swiftly to a close, I hear the Lord saying again: “It is not good.”
Not to condemn you, but to correct, restore, and reposition you.

Whatever is not good in your life
May the Lord provide the help you need.
May He send divine assistance at the right time.
May He turn your lack into abundance, your sorrow into joy, and your confusion into clarity.

Because when God speaks, help is never far away.

That the scripture must be fulfilled controversy!

The phrase "that the scripture must be fulfilled" refers to the idea that certain events described in the Old Testament were prophesied to occur, and that when they did occur, they were seen as fulfilling those prophecies. In the New Testament, this phrase is often used to explain the events surrounding Jesus' life, death, and resurrection, which were seen as fulfilling various prophecies from the Old Testament.

This idea of fulfilling prophecy was a key component of Jewish and early Christian theology, and it helped to establish the credibility of Jesus and his message. The idea was that if Jesus' life and teachings were seen as fulfilling prophecy, then it was evidence that he was indeed the Messiah, or the one who was prophesied to come and save the Jewish people.

However, there were also debates and controversies around how to interpret these prophecies and what exactly they meant. For example, some Jewish leaders at the time of Jesus believed that the Messiah would be a political leader who would overthrow the Roman occupation, while others believed that he would be a spiritual leader who would usher in a new era of peace and prosperity.

Similarly, there were debates among early Christians about the nature of Jesus' death and resurrection, and how these events fulfilled Old Testament prophecies. These debates continue to this day, with different interpretations and understandings of scripture among different Christian denominations and traditions.
