As we begin this new week, the readings remind us that following Christ requires more than keeping the commandments, it requires giving Him our whole heart. The rich young man walked away because he could not let go of his possessions.

May we never allow worldly attachments to keep us from Jesus. May God give us the grace to choose Him above all else and follow Him faithfully.
