THEME: DOING EXPLOITS
TOPIC: SENT BY GOD
TEXT: John 20:21;
Introduction
One foundational matter that is key to doing exploits is having a consciousness that you are sent by God. There is tremendous power and boldness that comes from knowing that the Almighty God has sent you and that you have His full backing. As we meditate on these scriptures today, we pray that we will all develop and cultivate this sent by God consciousness.
1. Even old Testament saints were conscious of been sent by God Gen 45:7-8; Num 16:28-29; 1Sam 15:1; 1Kings 17:1;
2. Our Lord Jesus Christ was so conscious of being sent by His Father. Luke 4:18-19; Mat 10:40; John 4:34; John 5:36-38; John 6:38-39; John 12:49; John 17:18-25;
3. The Apostles (sent ones) were conscious of being sent by our Lord Jesus Christ . Mark 16:15-20; 1Cor 1:1; 1Pet 1:1; Acts 16:6-10; Acts 20:28; 1Cor 3:9; 2Cor 5:18-20; 2Cor 6:1; Eph 6:20;
4. All believers were sent-conscious Acts 4:32-37; Acts 6:8-10; Acts 8:4-5; Acts 11:9;
5. I am sent by Jesus Christ just as he was sent by His Father. John 20:21; John 17:18; Mat 10:16; Mark 16:15-20; Mat 28:18-20; Luke 4:18;;
a. I am sent to preach the good news of his salvation John 20:21; Mark 16:15-16; Luke 24:46-49; Acts 1:8; 1Cor 3:9; 2Cor 6:1;
b. I am sent to heal the sick, raise the dead, cast out devils and perform miracles, signs and wonders. Mark 16:17-18; Luke 9:1-2; Luke 10:9; Luke 10:17-19;
c. I am sent to make disciples of all nations. Mat 28:18-20;
6. God works with and backs those he sent! Mat 28:20; Mark 16:20; Acts 4:29-31; Acts 18:9-10; Rom 15:19; 2Cor 2:14;
Conclusion
Know you are sent, know who sent you, know to whom you are sent and know the purpose for which you are sent; John 1:6-8; Know that all divine resources are available to the one sent, to accomplish what he is sent to do. This is a key to doing exploits.
