About last Sunday in church…
Serving with Purpose
The assignment of God has a voice, and it carries within it the capacity to announce itself. When a man discovers what God has called him to do, his life begins to speak with clarity, direction and impact.
Purpose is knowing your office, understanding your “why,” recognising the reason for your assignment, and identifying the results God expects from you. It is the understanding of what you have been sent to accomplish and the people you have been sent to serve.
The knowledge of purpose makes a person effective, intentional and result-oriented. When you know why you are here, you stop merely being busy and begin to become productive. You stop moving in every direction and begin to pursue the direction that matters.
No man can effectively serve without knowing whom he is called to serve. Purpose gives you clarity about your assignment, your audience and your responsibility.
The Word of God is a light that brings clarity to purpose. It illuminates the path, helps you understand God’s will, and gives you the wisdom to navigate your assignment.
Light gives direction. It shows you where to go, what to avoid and how to keep moving when the journey becomes difficult. And the light of God’s Word; more than provide direction, it also brings warmth, hope, courage and encouragement along the way.
When purpose is understood and God’s Word becomes your light, you do not merely exist, you begin to live intentionally, serve effectively and produce the results for which God entrusted the assignment to you.
