A lecture delivered by fadhlat Sheikh Imam Al-bayaany Arekemase Alfa Akin at NASFAT LOKOJA (Nasrul-Lahi-L-Fatih Society of Nigeria) He was assigned the topic, “"Entering Ramadan with a Renewed heart".
In his lecture, Our Sheikh thoroughly emphasized the importance of spiritual and physical readiness for the blessed month of Ramadan. He encouraged the Muslim Ummah to observe the fasting diligently and to fast with sincere intention (niyyah) solely for the sake of attaining reward from Allah (SWT).
He reminded the congregation that fasting should not merely be abstention from food and drink, but an act of devotion performed with consciousness, sincerity, and hope for divine reward.
Furthermore, he clarified the categories of individuals upon whom fasting is obligatory and those who are exempted according to Islamic jurisprudence.
He explained the conditions that make fasting compulsory, such as maturity and sound health, as well as valid excuses that permit exemption, including illness and travel.
In addition, he strongly encouraged the faithful to remain steadfast in the observance of their five daily prayers, stressing that Ramadan should serve as a period of spiritual renewal, increased worship, and greater commitment to fulfilling all religious obligations..
