How to have a personal relationship with the Holy Spirit. (PART 1)

1) Study the Scriptures:

The Bible contains numerous references to the Holy Spirit. Read and reflect on these passages to gain a deeper understanding of the Holy Spirit's nature, role, and work. This will help you align your life with the Spirit's teachings and guidance.

2) Prayer:

Start by dedicating time each day for prayer and meditation. Speak to the Holy Spirit in a conversational manner, just as you would with a friend. Share your thoughts, feelings, concerns, and joys with the Spirit. Also, be attentive and open to receiving guidance, inspiration, and insights during these prayer times.

3) Obey God's Word:

The Holy Spirit aligns with the teachings of Christ, so living a life in accordance with biblical principles will strengthen your relationship with the Spirit. Seek to obey God's Word in your actions, thoughts, and words.

Building an Altar Stronger than the Screen

The Strategy:
We live in a generation where screens can easily command more attention than prayer, Scripture, conversation, and family fellowship. Parents must therefore rise as watchmen over their homes, intentionally protecting the spiritual atmosphere of the family and guiding their children toward Christ.

Activity:
Establish sacred screen-free zones during family mealtimes, devotionals, and in bedrooms. These boundaries can help protect meaningful conversations, rest, prayer, and family relationships from constant digital interruption.

Do not simply teach your children to say “no” to media. Teach them digital discernment. Help them ask questions such as: Does this content agree with God’s Word? Does it strengthen my faith? Does it honour Christ? What influence is this content having on my thoughts, values, and behaviour?

Parents should model the same discipline they expect from their children. The strongest lesson is often demonstrated through a parent's own choices.

The Declaration:
As for me and my house, we will serve the Lord. We will be discipled by the Word of God, guided by the Holy Spirit, and shaped by Christ rather than by the values and trends of social media.
(Joshua 24:15)

Doubting Your Salvation

Some new believers struggle with the question, “Am I really saved?” They may experience moments of doubt, especially when they face temptation, make mistakes, or do not feel spiritually strong.

Our assurance of salvation should rest on God's Word and His promises, not simply on how we feel from one day to another.

At Peculiar Household of Faith Church, we help new believers understand salvation through biblical teaching, discipleship, pastoral guidance, and prayer. We want you to know what it means to be saved and grow in confidence in your relationship with Christ.

The Bible says, “These things have I written unto you that believe in the name of the Son of God, that ye may know that ye have eternal life.” 1 John 5:13.

If you are struggling with doubts about your salvation, do not walk without help. Come and learn God's Word, strengthen your faith, and grow in the assurance of your salvation in Christ.

Spiritual Security:

Just as we buy life insurance for financial security, we must provide "spiritual security" for our children.

This is the reason the book, Parenting God's Way was written. To get your copy, call or whatsapp 0805 894 6026.

Living as a Resident Alien

Consider this:
It is easy to become consumed by temporary things such as money, success, possessions, or social recognition. Yet everything we gain in this present world is passing away. As believers, we are called to live with eternity in view, remembering that our ultimate citizenship is in heaven.

The Prayer:
“Lord, help me to live as a pilgrim passing through. Keep my heart focused on things above and my life directed toward Your eternal purposes. Teach me to remember that my true citizenship is in heaven, and help me to live each day in a way that brings You glory.”
(Colossians 3:1–2)

Weekly Activity:
Look at your calendar for the coming week. Choose one task, responsibility, or goal and ask yourself:

“How can I do this for God’s eternal glory rather than for temporary gain?”

Let this question shape your priorities, decisions, relationships, and use of time throughout the week.
