CONSCIOUSNESS OF THE SPIRITUAL

For to be carnally minded is death; but to be spiritually minded is life and peace (Romans 8:6).

In our soul-winning efforts, a vital requirement is the strengthening and development of your human spirit, the inward man. That’s the real “you” that was born again. When we speak of salvation in Christ, we’re referring to the salvation of the spirit. And for that salvation to express itself, you must become conscious of spiritual things.

Spiritual consciousness is essential for spiritual growth. When you're spiritually minded, you interpret life from the perspective of the Word. You understand that you’re not of this world. You're a spirit being, called by God to function from the spirit-realm. Everything about the Christian life starts from this awareness.

Take soul-winning, for example; the expression itself, "soul winning", is spiritually precise. It doesn’t say “people winning”; you’re reaching for the inner man of that person— the soul, the spirit. That means you must be conscious that those you're ministering to are spirit beings too. This consciousness shapes how you see others and how you handle life’s issues; you evaluate everything from the spiritual.

This was what made the ministry of the Lord Jesus so different from the religious leaders of His day. He brought a spiritual ministry. And thanks be unto God; we’re born of the Spirit and called to live in the Spirit. As a soul winner, this is your arena. No book in the world reveals the realities and life of the human spirit like the Bible. So study the Scriptures voraciously; the Word is your guide to living victoriously every day in every situation.

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, thank you for enlightening my spirit through your Word. I function from the inward man and interpret life through the Spirit. I walk in the consciousness of who I am in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

LEARN TO CALL THINGS INTO BEING

Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee... (Job 22:28).

Did you know that through the power of the Holy Spirit, you can call forth anything that you desire? You have the power to appropriate into your current moment whatever it is you require. Never see yourself as being in need of something you think you can’t get. Instead, learn to call such things into existence.

We see God employ this same principle when He created all things in Genesis 1. He called them forth. Then in Romans 4:17, the Apostle Paul draws our attention to something profound that God said to Abraham: “(As it is written, I have made thee a father of many nations)....” This was God talking to Abraham at a time that Abraham had no child. Yet God wasn’t making him a promise; it was a declaration of what already was.

Now, think about this: Abraham had no child and was almost one hundred years old. He first wondered and said “...Shall a child be born to one who is a hundred years old...” (Genesis 17:17 NKJV)? But then he chose to believe God and staggered not at God’s promise through unbelief but became strong in faith, glorifying God, calling things that be not as though they were.

Faith declares what it sees in the spirit before it manifests in the physical realm. So what do you desire in your life right now? Mention it and call it forth in the Name of the Lord Jesus. Declare that it comes to you by free course. It already exists in its expanded form in the realm of the spirit; when you call it forth it'll come together in its solid form and come to you.

The Bible says you shall have what you say (Mark 11:23). You shall decree a thing and it’ll be established unto you. That’s the law of the Spirit. Decree it, call it forth, and see it established before your eyes.

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, thank you for the creative ability and potency of my words. I function in divine authority and dominion, calling things into being and bringing unseen realities into manifestation. I decree favour, abundance, health, and victory, and I walk in the full experience of your perfect will, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

A NEW, JUSTIFIED BEING

Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17).

When we say Jesus paid the price for the whole world of sinners, you need to understand that we’re speaking generically. It doesn’t include Christians because the Christian isn’t counted among the sinners. Christians are a different species of being; they’re not from the world. They came into a new life through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus Christ.

When you believed in Jesus Christ and confessed His lordship over your life, you were recreated; born again with a new life: “Therefore we are buried with him by baptism into death: that like as Christ was raised up from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life” (Romans 6:4). This is the essence of Christianity; you’re a new creation born from the resurrection into a newness of life.

As a result, you walk as a justified person. What does it mean to be justified? It means to be declared not guilty, acquitted. The person who was guilty died with Christ on the Cross. And when Jesus resurrected, a new you came alive. This new you was created in righteousness and true holiness.

Romans 4:25, referring to the Lord Jesus, tells us that He "…was delivered for our offenses, and was raised again for our justification." Glory to God! You’re justified because you’re a new creation. This is why we preach the Gospel with urgency. We want men and women everywhere to come into Christ and become new creations. We want them to know they’ve been justified and that in Christ, they don’t have a past; they’re new species.

James 1:18 says, “Of his own will begat he us with the word of truth, that we should be a kind of firstfruits of his creatures.” Notice the underlined expression; you’re a different breed, one with the divine nature; sanctified, glorified and justified. Hallelujah!

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, I thank you for the new life in Christ. I’m a new creation, justified and alive to God. Old things are passed away, and all things have become new. I walk in the consciousness of my divine nature, manifesting the glory and righteousness of God everywhere I go, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

PRAY EFFECTIVELY BY PRAYING IN THE SPIRIT

For if I pray in an unknown tongue, my spirit prayeth, but my understanding is unfruitful. What is it then? I will pray with the spirit, and I will pray with the understanding also: I will sing with the spirit, and I will sing with the understanding also (1 Corinthians 14:14-15).

Praying in the spirit is the primary way for Christians to pray and pray effectively. God wants you to have a productive life. Therefore, it’s important to know how to pray in an effective way because prayer is our communication with God. And from our opening scripture, a most effective way to engage and talk with the Lord and have real results is praying with the spirit.

The Apostle Paul in our opening scripture distinguishes between praying with the spirit or in the spirit and praying with the understanding. Praying with the spirit is when you pray in other tongues; tongues of the spirit. Praying in your understanding is praying through your mind, using a language that you understand. However, praying in the spirit takes pre-eminence over praying with the understanding.

Ephesians 6:18 says, “Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints.” This is as insightful as it is instructive: You’re to pray always in the Spirit. It’s one of the sure ways to pray effectively. James 5:16 AMPC, says, “…The earnest (heartfelt, continued) prayer of a righteous man makes tremendous power available [dynamic in its working].”

A righteous man is one who’s born again, whose righteousness is the righteousness of Jesus Christ and that’s you. Therefore, when you pray, tremendous power is made available to produce amazing results. But many don’t experience this; their prayers aren’t effective because they don’t pray in tongues.

Make no mistakes about it; when you pray in tongues it generates a lot of fire-power that subdues the works and forces of evil amongst other transcendent benefits. The results will be evident in your home, in your place of work, in your city, in your country and around the world. Hallelujah!

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, thank you for the blessing of praying in the spirit. As I pray in other tongues, the forces of evil are subdued, and your will is accomplished in the earth and in the lives of people everywhere. My life is continually aligned with your perfect will, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

YIELDING TO THE WORD

And that from a child thou hast known the holy scriptures, which are able to make thee wise unto salvation through faith which is in Christ Jesus (2 Timothy 3:15).

The Word of God makes us wise unto salvation. This isn’t just about receiving eternal life; it’s about becoming mature in spiritual things, understanding how to walk in your inheritance and live out the Christ life effectively. There're Christians who love God but still struggle through life because they haven’t yielded to the Word of God to regulate their lives. They haven’t allowed the Word to condition their minds, to renew their thinking, and reculture their character.

Romans 12:2 says, “And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.” There’s a continuous transformation from glory to glory that takes place in your life as you yield yourself to the Word of God. So, it’s not enough for anyone to say, “I’ve received salvation, and that’s it”; you must continue in the Word to live victoriously in Christ.

Joshua 1:8 says, “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.” As you meditate on the Scriptures, it causes everything about your life to blossom. The Spirit imparts light to your spirit to see and apprehend your inheritance in Christ.

God’s desire is for His Word to dwell in you richly in all wisdom and spiritual understanding (Colossians 3:16). He wants you to live in and by His Word. He said in Luke 4:4, “…man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.” That’s how you live above the systems of this world. That’s the path of blessings, victory and success; doing the Word: “But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves. But whoso looketh into the perfect law of liberty, and continueth therein, he being not a forgetful hearer, but a doer of the work, this man shall be blessed in his deed” (James 1:22 & 25).

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, your Word has made me wise unto salvation. I’m trained to reign, equipped to succeed, and conditioned to manifest your righteousness. I walk in spiritual intelligence and produce divine results, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

CHRIST IN YOU MEANS GLORY FULFILLED

To whom God would make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery… which is Christ in you, the hope of glory (Colossians 1:27).

The greatest revelation of the New Testament is not just that Jesus Christ died for us but that He resurrected and now lives in us. This is the mystery that was hidden for ages and generations but is now revealed: Christ in you, the hope of glory. Christ in you, the hope of glory means the glory has been realized or fulfilled. It’s not a promise but a present-hour reality.

There’re those who say, “God is great, He’ll never share His glory with anyone.” Yes! He’s great and will not share His glory with the pagan gods, but He did more than share His glory with us: He gave us His glory: “And the glory which thou gavest me I have given them; that they may be one, even as we are one” (John 17:22).

When you received Christ, you received glory. There’s glory in your life. No shame. No reproach. You were brought into the realm of divine possibilities, excellence and victory. Glory is now your life, your nature, and your environment. The Bible says, “For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). That was before Christ came. Christ in you means you’re now the bearer or carrier of God’s presence, power and righteousness. You’re not trying to access glory; you live in it.

This truth should change the way you think, talk, live, and see yourself. You’re not ordinary. You’re a God-carrier. You’re the mobile headquarters of divinity. Your body is the temple of the Holy Spirit. Everywhere you go, Christ shows up in you, with you, and through you. This is why you can never be disadvantaged. The One who created the universe lives in you in the fullness of His glory.

Moreover, did you know that you’re the glory of God? Your name is the glory of God. That’s simple to understand because your heavenly Father is described in Ephesians 1:17 as “...the Father of glory....” If Mr Smith is described or introduced as “the father of John,” it means he has a son called John. Glory is who you’ve become in Christ. Your glory life is on. See yourself in the glory. See yourself walking in the glory. See yourself as the glory of God. Hallelujah!

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, thank you for making me the effulgence of your glory, the expression of your righteousness, and the dispenser of your grace. Thank you for making my life a manifestation of your beauty, presence, power, and excellence. I see myself as your glory, and live the glorious life in Christ, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

DECLARE WHAT YOU WANT

Thou shalt also decree a thing, and it shall be established unto thee: and the light shall shine upon thy ways (Job 22:28).

As a child of God, it makes no difference the challenges you face; they’re bread for you. You’re a victor, not a victim. You can change hopeless situations. The power is in your mouth. Our opening scripture says you shall decree a thing, and it shall be established. That’s divine authority! It means your words are instruments for change, instruments for creating the realities you desire.

Keep declaring blessings and the changes you want even if you’re yet to “see” them with your optical eyes. The reason is that in the realm of the Spirit, the moment you speak in faith, it begins to take form. Your words are the raw materials to create the conditions and circumstances of your life. So, declare what you want.

Abraham called himself “the father of many nations” according to God’s plan for him, before Isaac was born. That’s the way of faith; it speaks things into being. Don’t wait for things to change. Declare the change. Don’t wait to “feel” blessed. Say, “I am blessed”; because that’s what the Word says: “Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who has blessed us in the heavenly realms with every spiritual blessing in Christ” (Ephesians 1:3 NIV).

Keep declaring your health, your peace and your progress. Speak to your body. Speak to your finances. Speak to your circumstances. The more you affirm the Word, the more you establish heaven’s reality in your life. The blessings of God, the realities of the Kingdom, are voice-activated. Even your salvation was activated by words (Romans 10:9-10).

Every time you speak in line with the Word, you give divine substance to the unseen. So never stop talking. Keep prophesying your destiny. Keep releasing faith-filled words. Declare that your change has come. Affirm that your life is upward and forward. You’re excellent and full of glory.

If, for example, you’ve been in debt or in financial difficulty, declare that you’re in abundance and maintain your confession. Stick to what the Word says about your prosperity. Before long, you’ll receive clear guidance from the Spirit on steps to take that’ll keep you in an unending flow of resources. Remember, through the Holy Spirit we know the things God has freely given to us, and we speak them forth (1 Corinthians 2:12-13). Hallelujah!

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, I thank you for bringing me into a life of glory in Christ Jesus; blessed, fruitful, and favoured, walking in abundance, health, and divine wisdom. I’m guided by the Holy Spirit to know all that you’ve freely given to me in Christ, and I speak them forth and see them materialize and established in my life, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

THE NAME OF JESUS—YOUR BADGE OF AUTHORITY

And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son (John 14:13).

The Name of Jesus is not a religious formula; it’s your badge of authority. It represents everything Jesus is and everything He has accomplished. When you use His Name, it’s as though Jesus Himself were making the request or issuing the command. His Name is the greatest of all; it rules in heaven, in the earth, and under the earth.

Philippians 2:9-11 says, “Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.” Hallelujah! That’s the name that’s been given to us to live by. The Lord Jesus gave us the legal right to use His Name.

He said in Mark 16:17-18, “And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.” That means when you speak in His Name, demons flee, sickness bows, and miracles happen. The power is not in how loud you speak, but in the authority of the Name.

It’s not about emotion; it’s about revelation. When you know what that Name represents and who you are in Him, you speak with boldness and results follow. The apostles understood this. In Acts 3:6, Peter said to a man who was crippled from birth, “...In the Name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth rise up and walk.”

Immediately, strength came to the man’s feet and anklebones, and he was healed instantly (Acts 3:7-8). That’s the power of the Name in action. You’ve been authorized to use that same Name. Use it to change situations. Use it in prayer. Use it to rebuke fear, command order and increase in your finances. Use it to heal the sick, cleanse the lepers and raise the dead.

Colossians 3:17 says, “And whatsoever ye do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God and the Father by him.” In other words, live in and by the power of that Name: it’s your symbol of authority, your emblem of dominion. Use it to reign over circumstances, keep yourself in divine health, and maintain the triumphant life God has given you.

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, thank you for giving me the power of attorney to use the Name of Jesus; I live and function in the authority of His Name which works and produces results for me everywhere. I cast out devils, heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead and reign over circumstances in Jesus’ Name. Amen.

CREATED TO KNOW AND FULFIL THE WILL OF GOD

…always labouring fervently for you in prayers, that ye may stand perfect and complete in all the will of God (Colossians 4:12).

God’s desire is not just that you know His will, but that you stand perfect and complete in it. You were created to live in the centre of God’s purpose for your life, flourishing in and fulfilling His divine plan. Predestination is at work in you: “For whom he did foreknow, he also did predestinate to be conformed to the image of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brethren” (Romans 8:29).

Ephesians 2:10 AMPC says, “For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]." There’s a life that’s been prearranged by God for you to live and enjoy. It’s the good life, the transcendent life in Christ.

That’s why Paul commended Epaphras who laboured in prayer so the saints in Colossae would not only know but stand perfect and complete in the will of God. That means fully aligned, established, and functioning within the ambits of God’s perfect will. His will is that you prosper, be in health, walk in wisdom, win souls, live righteously and reign in life. His will is revealed in His Word.

As you meditate on the Word and fellowship with the Holy Spirit, you become synchronized with God’s plans and purposes and equipped to walk accordingly. Through the Word of God and the ministry of the Holy Spirit, you’re trained to know and walk in God’s divine provisions; your discernment sharpens, and your decisions reflect heaven’s interests and intent.

Even now, declare that you’re perfect and complete in all the will of God. The Lord Jesus said in Matthew 13:11, “…it is given unto you to know the mysteries of the kingdom of heaven….” Affirm that you’re filled with the knowledge of God’s will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding, fruitful in every good work and increasing in the knowledge of God. Let this be your consciousness, your life, and your testimony.

PRAYER / CONFESSION

I am perfect and complete in all the will of God; the mysteries of the Kingdom are unveiled to my spirit. I walk in divine wisdom, purpose, and victory. I’m aligned with God’s plan, and I fulfil my calling with excellence, to the glory of His Name. Amen.

BUILT TO LAST, DESIGNED FOR GLORY

And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it (Matthew 16:18).

The Church of Jesus Christ is not weak or fragile; it’s indestructible. It’s not an organization trying to survive; it's a divine institution built by the Lord Jesus Himself. He declared, “I will build my church,” and what He builds is eternal, powerful and glorious. You’re a part of His Church, not as a bystander, but as a living stone (1 Peter 2:5).

That means you were chosen, shaped and placed by God in the Body of Christ to reflect His glory and fulfil His purpose. You’re not a mistake. You’re built to last and designed to shine. You’re not a part of something that can fail. The Church is not subject to the systems or structures of this world. We operate heavenly principles. We’re powered by the Holy Spirit and governed by the Word.

That’s why persecution, opposition, or adversity cannot destroy us. Instead, we grow stronger, more vibrant, and more impactful. James 1:2 says, “My brethren, count it all joy when ye fall into divers temptations.” Romans 8:35 tells us that there’s no amount of tribulation, distress, persecution, famine, perils or suffering that can prevail against us.

Then from verses 37-39, it says, “Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord." The gates of hell, the strategies, structures and systems of darkness will never prevail against the Church. We’re more than conquerors.

We have Satan where He belongs: under our feet. We’re in dominion. We’re reigning. We’re joint-heirs with Christ, associates of the God-kind, vessels of eternal excellence. We’re unstoppable. The glory of God is revealed in and through us. That’s the Church of Jesus Christ today—built to last, designed for glory.

PRAYER / CONFESSION

Dear Father, thank you for making me a living stone in the glorious Church of Jesus Christ—built to last and designed for glory. Thank you for the authority you’ve granted us to execute your will and manifest your glory in the earth. Today, your children, all over the world, walk in power, purpose and victory as they proclaim the Gospel, in Jesus’ Name. Amen.
