Day 2: Thursday 13th November 2025
Ministering: Pst Simeon Afolabi
Theme: DIVINE ORDER.
Topic: Dimension of Grace.
Text: Ps 84:11
Notes;
Grace precedes glory. You cannot partake of the glory until you understand what grace is. The divine order is this: you encounter grace first, then you enter glory. No grace, no glory. Little grace, little glory. Great grace, great glory. The glory you experience will always be proportional to the grace you enjoy. 1 Peter 5:10
There are dimensions of grace which can be illustrated below;
1️⃣ General or Common Grace. General grace does not respect your religion, tribe, or background. It is applicable to everyone. Matt 5:43–45. Every land has its share of wicked people. Sometimes we wish God could make His sun shine only on the righteous, so we could easily identify the wicked. But that is not the case. The rain falls on the farms of both the wicked and the good.
2️⃣ Prevenient Grace. Prevenient means “coming before”. Prevenient grace refers to the grace that goes ahead of a person before they encounter Christ. It is the grace that prepares and draws a person toward salvation. God already knew you and had a plan for your life. That plan was guiding you even before you surrendered to Christ.
3️⃣ The Saving Grace. Ephesians 2:4–5, 8–9. Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it. One of the marks of true conversion is understanding that we are saved by grace, not by works. We do not earn salvation; it is a gift.
There is common grace, there is prevenient grace, and both lead us to the saving grace, the grace that brings salvation to all who believe in Jesus Christ.
4️⃣ Sanctifying Grace. In 1 Thes 5:23, Apostle Paul speaks of the grace that sanctifies.We know of people who were drug addicts, yet after encountering Christ, even the smell of ci******es makes them vomit. What happened? It is the sanctifying grace of God—the grace that separates and purifies.
Sanctifying grace works within a believer to make them holy and set apart for God’s purpose.
5️⃣ Serving Grace. Ephesians 3:8 , Romans 12:6–8. God did not save anyone just to sit down in church and criticize others.
He gave us grace in the form of gifts, and these gifts are for service. If you become offended in a place and take a back seat, it is like Jeremiah, in whose bones the word of God burned. If you keep quiet, that grace within you will itch you.
You can serve in prayer, in giving, in teaching, or in any other way. There is no service too small in the house of God. After the saving grace comes the serving grace, the grace that empowers believers to serve faithfully in their God-given assignments. There are diversities of service, but the same grace enables them all.
6️⃣ Sustaining Grace. Every believer, at one point or another, will face challenges. It is not if, but when.
Our Master said, “In this world, you will have tribulations.” When those difficult times come, what keeps us standing is sustaining grace.
Has anyone here gone through a painful situation and later wondered, “How did I even survive that?” That was sustaining grace at work.
While you are in the storm, it feels like carrying the weight of the whole world, but afterward, you realize it was God’s grace carrying you through. 2 Corinthians 12:7–10
7️⃣ Supplying Grace. 2 Corinthians 9:8. There is a dimension of grace that ensures divine supply, it makes provision available at all times. The opposite is what many people experience: lack and insufficiency. Yet, in the plan of God, there is grace that brings all sufficiency in all things.
If it were not possible, God would not have said it. He is not a liar. When this supplying grace operates in your life, you enjoy abundance and provision at every level. In God’s economy, there is no recession. May this supplying grace locate you in every area of your life.
8️⃣ Crowning Grace. This is also the finishing grace, the grace that enables us to complete our race and not end our journey abruptly. 2 Timothy 4:7. Paul faced many challenges in ministry. Romans 15:22, 1 Thessalonians 2:18, Yet, at the end, he could boldly say, “I have finished my course.”
That means God removed the hindrances, and Paul was able to complete his mission. That is crowning grace, the grace that enables you to finish strong despite every obstacle. Every hindrance must bow to the grace of God. For Paul to finish, the hindrances had to surrender.
❇️ If you do not enjoy grace, you cannot encounter glory. That is the divine order.
❇️ When you walk in the direction of grace—understanding, receiving, and growing in its dimensions—you will ultimately partake in the glory that follows. Grace precedes glory, and the measure of grace you carry determines the level of glory you will experience.
❇️ May we all grow in grace until we reflect the fullness of His glory.
