LEKS HAD GONE FAR OUT, BUT CAME BACK IN THROUGH 1 THING SHE DID.
I personally call him Leks, but I'll leave it at that for privacy. We were in the house discussing one day reminiscing, and he told us the story of how he came back to the obedience of Allaah.
He had travelled out of the country to study and due to little or no parental supervision, he went off like most kids into things even I won't like to mention.
That went on for a long time, and then one night he and his s friend returned home from a late night out......
The friend too was a Muslim and he stumbled upon the PERSONAL COPY of the Qur'aan Leks' mum had given him when he was leaving Nigeria. It was a copy with the full translation in English.
He stretched out to it and lifted it off the shelf where it lay. "Leks, let's read this thing a bit." They both sat down and opened a page randomly, and after reading a few lines,.....
Everything went silent and neither of them could say a word. Not even a word.
No, they didn't go dumb, but they were awe-struck by what they had just read. They looked at each other and both began to cry. They cried their eyes out and neither of them could ask the other to calm down.
In a few seconds, they had seen their entire lives and where it was headed play out in just a few Verses of the Qur'aan.
What if they read the entire Suurah?
What if they understood the depth of the meanings even further?
What if they read the whole Qur'aan?
They later fell asleep, and that was the turning point in their lives...
