BE RENEWED
(Romans 12:1-2)

MEMORY VERSE: "And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God." (Romans 12:2 NKJV)

Is your past journey in the faith better than your current journey? Do you feel you were a better Christian before now than you currently are? If you do, what has gone wrong? What has changed? As you embrace more responsibilities in life, you soon realise that the journey of faith is a decision that requires intentionality. The world appears fast-paced, and believers are busy. We feel there is no time to do anything outside the things that can put food on our tables. Let us think again.

When zeal drops, excuses increase. When self-motivation drops, laziness increases. Can we come to a point where we can clearly distinguish true engagement from laziness? If we are not careful, we will get busy doing everything else except what matters most. If we are not careful, we will seek last what we should seek first — the kingdom of God.

Your mind appears to have been fed with a lot of junks, and your spirit keeps receiving noise inside you. There is a need for us to renew our minds. The world is trying hard to pull us into the common error of this age, but we must be transformed by the mercy of God, renewing our minds.

We can not copy the system of the world and paste it in our lives or in our church and expect to delight in it. Apostle Paul knew that His brethren had been corrupted by the old life. They were imitating the lives of unbelievers, and they were conforming to the nature and system of this world. He knew the implications of that and begged them to submit to God's mercy and become changed persons who submit to God's service and will. People who subject themselves to the commands of God and love one another.

He said, "I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that you present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable to God, which is your reasonable service. And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, that you may prove what is that good and acceptable and perfect will of God."

We are on a journey to becoming like Jesus. We must not copy the world. We must keep asking God's mercy to keep helping us to keep renewing our minds. So that our minds will not keep bad records that affect our faith negatively. Is your heart renewed or is filled with old things of the old man?

PRAYER: Lord, thank you for your word. Please, help me to renew my mind and be transformed into your image. Conform me to your nature, so I might please you always in Jesus' Name. Amen.

PRAYER FOR DIVINE HELP
(Matthew 8:25; 2 Chronicles 20:5-18)

MEMORY VERSE: "O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You." ( 2 Chronicles 20:12)

There is no better time than now when the entire humanity needs divine intervention. There are many people fighting against our lives, health, peace and joy. The battles are both physical and spiritual, and it is only God who can fight all battles and win all.

In the scriptures, there are many occasions that God's people called on God individually or collectively for His intervention. An online source defines divine intervention as a supernatural event where a higher power or deity directly gets involved in human affairs to change a situation or outcome. It is often invoked when human effort fails, or when events turn out in a highly improbable or miraculous way.

The prayer of King Jehoshaphat should be learnt and applied when asking divine intervention:
"Then Jehoshaphat stood in the assembly of Judah and Jerusalem, in the house of the Lord, before the new court, and said: “O Lord God of our fathers, are You not God in heaven, and do You not rule over all the kingdoms of the nations, and in Your hand is there not power and might, so that no one is able to withstand You? Are You not our God, who drove out the inhabitants of this land before Your people Israel, and gave it to the descendants of Abraham Your friend forever? And they dwell in it, and have built You a sanctuary in it for Your name, saying, ‘If disaster comes upon us—sword, judgment, pestilence, or famine—we will stand before this temple and in Your presence (for Your name is in this temple), and cry out to You in our affliction, and You will hear and save.’ And now, here are the people of Ammon, Moab, and Mount Seir—whom You would not let Israel invade when they came out of the land of Egypt, but they turned from them and did not destroy them— here they are, rewarding us by coming to throw us out of Your possession which You have given us to inherit. O our God, will You not judge them? For we have no power against this great multitude that is coming against us; nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You.” (2 Chronicles 20:5-12). He humbled himself and prayed to God for help. He admitted that they were small and inferior to their enemy without God on their side.

Also, the apostles sailing with Jesus on the boat had to cry out as they were about to perish. "Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, 'Lord, save us! We are perishing!' But He said to them, 'Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?' Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. So the men marveled, saying, 'Who can this be, that even the winds and the sea obey Him?'" (Matthew 8:25-27). God is still mighty to save. He is still merciful. He is still gracious, and God is still faithful to His word. He is compassionate and loving. Call on Him into your affairs, and do not stop until His will is done.

PRAYER: Oh Lord, I need you. Please, come and help me in all matters I am not able to handle on my own in Jesus' name. Amen.

PRAYER FOR THE SICK
(James 5:13-15)

MEMORY VERSE: " And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."(James 5:15)

"Is anyone among you suffering? Let him pray. Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing psalms. Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. And the prayer of faith will save the sick, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. [j]Confess your trespasses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The effective, [k]fervent prayer of a righteous man avails much." (James 5:13-15 NKJV).

Elders in faith are great intercessors. Depending on the denominations, they are called by different names such as deacons and deaconess, elders, church council, church leaders, pastors, priests and so on. In some cases, the elder may not have a title. Elders should continue to intercede and pray for others. Their prayers have the potential to heal the sick and bring sinners back to God.

There is no sickness God cannot heal. He heals cancer, headache, diabetes, Hepatitis, HIV, stomach offset, kidney failure, cardiac arrest and even death is not final when God steps in. Reading about healing miracles may look like a myth if you have been praying for a patient for a long time, and you have not seen any result or difference yet. Note that the scriptures says, "...prayer of faith would save the sick...,"according the the memory verse (James 5:15 NKJV). Maybe more faith would be required; keep believing and trusting that God will always be faithful to His word.

Let us not enjoy committing sins behind the back of the brethren and conceal it when we come to the prayer altar. Confess your sins to one another, so you can intercede for one another. Intercession is very important because there are times when others need to join their faith with yours or pray on your behalf, especially when you probably are not able to pray effectively for yourself.

God is still healing the sick, but people may have to pray for healing miracles to take place. Pray for the sick, pray for yourself and yours, so that God may hear and answer us.

PRAYER: Thank Lord God almighty for your word that is ever true. In this time that there are so many sicknesses and diseases seeking to afflict and torture man, may you have mercy on us, forgive our sins and heal us in Jesus' name. Amen.

UNDERSTANDING EFFECTIVE PRAYER
(James 5:17-18;

MEMORY VERSE: "Elijah was a man of like [b]passions with us, and he prayed [c]fervently that it might not rain; and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months."(James 5:17)

It's amazing the kind of miracles prophet Elijah performed by the power of God. A deeper look into his life as to why he was able to perform so many miracles, you will see a man who has so much grace to pray and receive answers.

He would prophesy and go to pray to see the prophesy come to pass. For seven times, he prayed and asked his servant to go and check if the sign of the answer had appeared. He didn’t stop praying until he received the full answer. Why have you given up prematurely when you have not received answers to your prayers?

There is no excuse for me or you; we are human beings like Elijah. If he could do it, we could do it. "Then Elijah said to Ahab, 'Now, go, eat and drink. A heavy rain is coming.' So King Ahab went to eat and drink. At the same time Elijah climbed to the top of Mount Carmel. There he bent down to the ground with his head between his knees. Then Elijah said to his servant, 'Go and look toward the sea.' The servant went and looked. He said, 'I see nothing.' Elijah told him to go and look again. This happened seven times. The seventh time, the servant said, 'I see a small cloud. It’s the size of a man’s fist. It’s coming from the sea.' Elijah told the servant, 'Go to Ahab. Tell him to get his chariot ready and to go home now. If he doesn’t leave now, the rain will stop him.' After a short time the sky was covered with dark clouds. The wind began to blow. Then a heavy rain began to fall. Ahab got in his chariot and started back to Jezreel." (1 Kings 18:41-45 ICB)

I can imagine what might be going through the mind of the servant when going to check the seas in search of a cloud of rain. Perhaps, he was like, "My master should stop stressing himself. If God would hear him, he would have answered Him." Is that not what your humand mind tells you, and you stop praying? Pray and keep praying until you receive the answer. That is why James told us to look at Elijah: "Elijah was a man of like [b]passions with us, and he prayed [c]fervently that it might not rain; and it rained not on the earth for three years and six months. And he prayed again; and the heaven gave rain, and the earth brought forth her fruit." (James 5:17-18)

Pray and trust in the Lord, and never you stop praying until you have received the answer. Regardless of discouragement, keep praying until you see it come to pass. Persistence, belief, patience, and absolute trust may be required for what you have been asking God for years now. Keep praying until you see it come.

PRAYER: Oh Lord, your word is clear about prayer. Help me, dear Holy Spirit, to know how to pray and to find strength to persist in prayer until I have received God's answer.

WATCH NOW AND KEEP WATCHING
(Mark 13:35)

MEMORY VERSE: " Watch therefore, for you do not know when the master of the house is coming—in the evening, at midnight, at the crowing of the rooster, or in the morning. " (Mark 13:35 NKJV)

My wife and I went shopping on a Saturday, leaving our two kids in the house. We gave them something to keep them engaged until we returned. It happened that the shopping took us a longer time than we had expected. By the time we returned, they were looking like children who were tired of looking to see their parents return from a long journey. Every child waits expectantly to receive their parent(s) after a trip or a long journey. Are you looking forward to the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ?

There are a number of things that would happen before the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. They are signs that would precede His return. God did not give us a date for the second coming of Jesus, but He gave us signs. Also, the scriptures give us lifestyles and behaviours that are characteristic of the last days.

Apostle Paul wrote: "This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come. For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good, traitors, heady, highminded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God" (2 Timothy 3:1-4 KJV).

Looking at the end time behaviours and lifestyles, where do you stand? Are you still keeping the faith? Or you have fallen away. Ask God's mercy and grace to stand in the faith, watchful and prayerful.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, thank you for showing us the end time signs and behaviours that we may be watchful. Please, forgive me of my sins. Help me to stand in the faith until the very end in Jesus' Name. Amen.

MAN OUGHT TO PRAY AND NOT TO FAINT
(Luke 18:1-8; Thessalonians 5:17-28)

MEMORY VERSE: "pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. " (1 Thessalonians 5:17-28 ESV)

Prayer changes things when we pray and God answers. God wants us to pray, and He wants to grant our requests in answer to our prayers so that our joy may be full (John 16:24).

Some prayers get answered immediately, while others tend to take some time. When you have prayed and the answer does not come immediately, what do you do? Do you keep praying until you receive an answer or you stop praying and give up?

"And he spake a parable unto them to this end, that men ought always to pray, and not to faint; saying, There was in a city a judge, which feared not God, neither regarded man: and there was a widow in that city; and she came unto him, saying, Avenge me of mine adversary. And he would not for a while: but afterward he said within himself, Though I fear not God, nor regard man; yet because this widow troubleth me, I will avenge her, lest by her continual coming she weary me. And the Lord said, Hear what the unjust judge saith. And shall not God avenge his own elect, which cry day and night unto him, though he bear long with them? I tell you that he will avenge them speedily. Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?" (Luke 18:1-8 KJV)

From the illustration of our Lord Jesus Christ above, we can see that when we do not stop praying, when we don't faint in the place of prayer, answers will surely come at an appointed time.

Prophet Elijah demonstrated persistence and perseverance in prayer until he received an answer. "And Elijah said to Ahab, “Go up, eat and drink, for there is a sound of the rushing of rain.” So Ahab went up to eat and to drink. And Elijah went up to the top of Mount Carmel. And he bowed himself down on the earth and put his face between his knees. And he said to his servant, “Go up now, look toward the sea.” And he went up and looked and said, “There is nothing.” And he said, “Go again,” seven times. And at the seventh time he said, “Behold, a little cloud like a man's hand is rising from the sea.” And he said, “Go up, say to Ahab, ‘Prepare your chariot and go down, lest the rain stop you.’” And in a little while the heavens grew black with clouds and wind, and there was a great rain. And Ahab rode and went to Jezreel." (1 Kings 18:41-45).

Some believers do not have any problem with prayers. They pray, but they have a problem when a particular matter requires consistency and perseverance. Whatever you are asking God in prayer that is yet to come will come. You may just need to persevere and keep praying until you have received it.

PRAYER: Oh Lord. Thank you for your word and your promise. Help me to persevere in prayers so that I may not faint in Jesus' name I have asked. Amen.

A PREACHER AS LIGHT OF THE WORLD
(Mat 5:14-16)

MEMORY VERSE: “You are the light of the world. A city on a hill cannot be hidden.” (Matt 5:14 - NIV)

When we think of a preacher, our minds often go straight to pastors, evangelists, or someone standing on a pulpit. But in this context, you are the preacher. I am the preacher. Our memory verse makes it clear: _“You are the light of the world.”_ The Bible isn’t just talking to the clergy here — it’s talking to every believer. Once you’ve given your life to Christ, you become a carrier of light because Jesus Himself is the Light, the Way, and the Truth.

So how do we become that light, that city set on a hill? By refusing to hide what God has deposited in us. A city on a hill cannot be hidden. When you place a lamp on its stand, it gives light to everyone in the house. God calls us as preachers not to hide Jesus in us or conceal the message of the gospel, but to spread it and share it. And it’s not just with our words — it’s with our character.

Matthew 5:16 says, _“Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven.”_ What distinguishes us from unbelievers is that our light is shining. Our good works, our lifestyle, the fruit of the Holy Spirit — love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness — should be evident. These are the things men see that cause them to glorify God.

We are ambassadors of Christ wherever we find ourselves. You don’t need a title or ordination to be a preacher. We are all called to spread the good news. It’s the Great Commission: _“Go into all the world and make disciples.”_ We are called to raise men and women to become like Jesus by showing them His character through our lifestyle. When they look at us, they should see the Bible. They should see Jesus. That is what it means to shine. That is what it means to be a light — so that people in darkness can see this great light in us and come to Jesus.

PRAYER: Father, thank You for making me Your light in this world. Help me not to hide what You have placed in me. Let my life, my character, and my good works point people to You. Use me to spread the gospel wherever I go, so that men will see You in me and give glory to Your name. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

COME SEE A MAN WHO TOLD ME ALL THINGS
(John 4:29-30)

MEMORY VERSE: “Come, see a man, which told me all things that ever I did: is not this the Christ?” (John 4:29 - KJV)

The Samaritan woman came to the well for physical water, but she left with living water springing up in her soul. One encounter with Jesus turned her shame into a sermon. She didn’t wait for a theology degree or a perfect past. She ran to the same people who knew her history and said, “Come see.”

Jesus didn’t condemn her. He revealed her, yet still offered her living water. That’s grace: He knows the worst about us and still wants the most for us. For her, there was nothing remarkable about her life until she met Jesus. But as she opened up, He became the turning point — and she couldn’t keep it to herself.

It was the same with Paul. On the road to Damascus, one encounter changed everything. Everywhere he went after that, he narrated the experience. His testimony became his ministry. It’s not just about theoretical knowledge of God; it’s about experience. Even when the experience isn’t pleasant, Jesus turns the dark, negative parts of our lives into something new.

The woman with the issue of blood spent all on doctors until one touch changed everything. The man among the tombs was bound by demons until one encounter set him free. The apostles were once fearful men, but after meeting Jesus and receiving the Holy Spirit, they were called Christians because people saw Christ in them. Your testimony doesn’t start when you’re perfect. It starts when you’re honest. The very thing you think disqualifies you is often what God uses to point others to Christ. Her past became her pulpit. Who needs to hear your “come see” today?

PRAYER: Father, thank You for personal encounters that transform lives. Help me not to hide what You have done. Give me boldness to share my testimony, so others can “come and see” Jesus through me. If anyone reading this has not met You, Lord, let today be their day of encounter. We will not be silent. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

I WAS BLIND AND NOW I CAN SEE
(John 9:24-39)

MEMORY VERSE: "Ever since the world began, no one has been able to open the eyes of someone born blind. If this man were not from God, he couldn’t have done it." (John 9:32-33 NLT)

Some people tend to have a very shallow message to pass when preaching the gospel to a fixated unbelieving person because they try to pass a message that sounds as something they have never experienced themselves. The scriptures sometimes are to be used to validate the message of the gospel we preach; it might not have to be quoted verbatim always, otherwise, the message might not be passed in a way some people can understand.

However, there are times that all that is required to witness Christ to an unbeliever is the convincing message of what Jesus has done for you, which no one else can do. Yes, your experiential knowledge of Him is the weighty message that you can pass (John 9:11). This is why we don't need to know all the Bible before we can witness Jesus to people. What God is doing in your life is a message for you to share with others.

A man born blind was healed by Jesus, but the Jewish leaders would not want ti believe it was Jesus that performed the miracle. The blind man who was healed could not but believe. He questioned the adamant and unbelieving Parisees.

Here is the conversation upon which the message of today's devotional is anchored:
"So for the second time they called in the man who had been blind and told him, ‘God should get the glory for this,[a] because we know this man Jesus is a sinner.’ ‘I don’t know whether he is a sinner,’ the man replied. ‘But I know this: I was blind, and now I can see!’ ‘But what did he do?’ they asked. ‘How did he heal you?’ ‘Look!’ the man exclaimed. ‘I told you once. Didn’t you listen? Why do you want to hear it again? Do you want to become his disciples, too?’ Then they cursed him and said, ‘You are his disciple, but we are disciples of Moses! We know God spoke to Moses, but we don’t even know where this man comes from.’ ‘Why, that’s very strange!’ the man replied. ‘He healed my eyes, and yet you don’t know where he comes from? We know that God doesn’t listen to sinners, but he is ready to hear those who worship him and do his will. Ever since the world began, no one has been able to open the eyes of someone born blind. If this man were not from God, he couldn’t have done it.’ ‘You were born a total sinner!’ they answered. ‘Are you trying to teach us?’ And they threw him out of the synagogue.' " (John 9:24-34)

Finally, the story about how Jesus helped your life that you got saved, went to school, established a business, got healed, or any other thing may be enough testimony to preach to somebody. Let's not be quiet about what God has done for us especially when we know that our testimony would bless and motivate another person to keep the faith. May God give you an experience you will be glad to share in Jesus' name. Amen.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, you have shown me mercy and blessed me. May my story be a message to inspire somebody around me now and always. Amen.

REINFORCEMENT EVANGELISM
(2 Tim. 4:11-12; Acts 8:14-17)

MEMORY VERSE: "When the apostles in Jerusalem heard that Samaria had accepted the word of God, they sent Peter and John to Samaria."
(Acts 8:14. NIV).

Reinforcement evangelism is the intentional follow-up and strengthening of new converts.
The apostles understood that salvation is the beginning, not the end, of a believer’s journey.
While Philip initially spread the Gospel in Samaria, the apostles sent Peter and John to provide further spiritual support and prayer.

This model shows that soul-winning is not a solo race but a collaborative effort within the Body of Christ it also shows that new believers require guidance, teaching, and spiritual support as evangelism must go beyond preaching to nurturing.

Paul also demonstrated this principle by requesting the presence of faithful companions for the work of ministry. Reinforcement ensures that the seed of the Word grows and is not choked by doubt or false teachings.

It involves discipleship, encouragement, correction, and impartation of spiritual gifts. When believers are strengthened, they become rooted and fruitful in Christ. This is how the Church grows in depth, not just in numbers.

In our modern context, this means following up on new converts with intentionality and providing them with the tools needed for growth. Without this secondary wave of support, many young seeds of faith may wither under the pressure of the world. We are called to be spiritual reinforcements for one another in this great commission.

Reinforcement evangelism requires commitment, patience, and love for people. It means checking on new converts, praying with them, and guiding them into maturity. Through this, the body of Christ becomes stronger and united. God desires that no one falls away, but that all are established in Him.

Finally, true evangelism does not end at the point of confession; it continues through consistent mentorship and the strengthening of the local church. Paul’s instruction to Timothy regarding Mark highlights that even those who previously faltered can be reinforced and made useful for service again.

PRAYER: Lord Jesus, Give me a heart for discipleship not only to share the gospel but to strengthen those who receive it.
