FOCUS: LAMP ON A CANDLESTICK

Matt. 5:15
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.

People in ancient Israel lit their homes with clay lamp fitted with wicks and fueled by olive oil. This Lamp is then placed on a lampstand to burn and to illuminate the surrounding.

The lampstand does not produce it's own light. Its purpose is to lift the light high. This relates to the mission of the church - to shine the life of Christ in a dark world. Christ naturally shines on the back of those who completely yield to Him.

If the oil lamp is placed under a bushel, aside from limiting its illumination, it will eventually put out the flame. My conviction is that the main bushel preventing the light of Christ from shining forth in a believer is dominace of the flesh. We cannot truly manifest the glory that Christ intended us to beam into the dark world until the flesh is completely mutilated.

The influence of the flesh naturally leads to hiding of ones beliefs out of fear, shame, or a desire to blend into a dark culture.

We are called to give light to ALL that are in the room. Let your light shine for ALL to see!

KEY ACTION
Rise above the flesh. If you fail to kill the flesh it will kill your dream

May the power of Christ rest mightily on you to stand as a candle stick in your community and in the house of the Lord.

Father, uphold me with your grace and mighty hands to shine through the darkness of this present world.

FOCUS: REBUILDING THE FIRE FOR IMPACT

LUKE 24:32
And they said one to another, Did not our heart burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

Two of Jesus' disciples returning from Jerusalem to Emmaus in severe despair as a result of His death and were at the verge of giving up met Him mid-way in their journey.

How did Jesus fanned their heart to flame? By talking with them and helping them to understand scriptures. That's the secret to impactful Christian life.

Talking with Jesus is entirely different from talking to Him. Talking with Jesus is a difficult choice as He may not respond to you promptly. It requires waiting patiently until He speaks.

Do you know what happened after this encounter? They rose up the same hour already dark in the evening and returned to Jerusalem, a distance of about 11 kilometers.

The heart is the altar of God, the sacred point of meeting with Him. There is no hope of lighting the earth if the heart is not first illuminated and burning for God.

KEY ACTION
Make Bible study and prayers part of your daily routine and pray until your heart is set on fire for the Lord.

God grant you the grace, strength and courage to cover and illuminate more grounds.

FOCUS: BURNING FOR CHRIST

John 5:35
He was a burning and a shining light: and ye were willing for a season to rejoice in his light.

This was Jesus' testimony about the ministry of John the baptist. He described him as a burning and a shining light.

To burn is to produce flame. To impact your world! A life that is burning with anointing, zeal and passion for Christ is a spectacle. It naturally draws people to the Kingdom.

Moses was arrested on mount Horeb when he saw a bush burning but not consumed (Ex. 3:2).

God wants us to burn for Him. He wants to raise end time army. Thy are God's answer to the moral darkness of this present world.

Burning is a spiritual combustion that produces movement. That takes people from sitting to standing, from walking to running and from running to flying. It takes people away from their houses to the sinner, hospital, garages and everywhere the gospel is needed.

The moral darkness of our present world requires fresh fire of the Holy Spirit. The world needs a people that are truly set apart and burning for Him.

KEY ACTION
It's time to rekindle the fire of God.

WORD FOR TODAY
God is about to reveal the glory that is trapped within you.

PRAYER
Father, make me a vessel of honour in my time. Reveal the glory of the son of God in me.

FOCUS: CHOOSE PRAISE OVER PITY

1 Thessalonians 5:18
“In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.”

What is thanksgiving?
Thanksgiving is the deliberate expression of gratitude to God for who He is and for His goodness, regardless of our circumstances (Psalm 100:4; Ephesians 5:20).

Is everything truly the will of God?
Not everything that happens is God’s will; however, God calls us to give thanks in every situation because He remains sovereign and can work all things together for our good (Romans 8:28).

Thanksgiving heals the soul.
When we choose praise over pity, thanksgiving shifts our focus from our troubles to God’s faithfulness. It releases the heart from bitterness, complaints and grudges, bringing peace, renewed strength and a fresh perspective even in difficult times. Praise reminds us that our present situation is not the end of our story.

CONCLUSION
Hard times may test your faith, but they do not have to steal your praise. Choose thanksgiving, and let God turn your difficult season into a testimony.

KEY ACTION
Refrain from complaints and grudges. Sing melodies in your heart always.

WORD FOR TODAY
You’re lifted above shame. Every disgrace shall be turned to your blessing, in Jesus’ name.

PRAYER
Father, lift me from the dunghill and turn every disgrace in my life into a blessing, in Jesus’ name.

Job 42:11
Then came there unto him all his brethren, and all his sisters, and all they that had been of his acquaintance before, and did eat bread with him in his house: and they bemoaned him, and comforted him over all the evil that the LORD had brought upon him: every man also gave him a piece of money, and every one an earring of gold.

God used human angels to change the story of Job. This is the spirit of favour. If you are not socially connected you'll be stranded in life.

What matters in trying times isn't really the people that you know but those who remembers you. Where were all these people all along? They were there but Job was not in their thoughts until the time appointed by heaven to change his story. There is a difference between followers and friends. My prayer is that your helpers will always remember you.

It wouldn't have been alright if all they did was mere consolation. They supported him with money and valuables. When the spirit of favour is at work people go out of their ways to do things for you. Not because they don't have needs of their own but God puts your matter on the front burner of their hearts. You can't have favour with people if you hadn't secured it with God (1 Samuel 2:26; Lk. 2:52).

Social bareness is worse than financial mishaps. Footfalls matters. Value people in your life whether they are givers or receivers.

KEY ACTION
Do all you can to grow your social connections. The people in your life are your biggest assets.

WORD FOR TODAY
My prayer for you is that God will release your helpers wherever they are tied, in Jesus' name.

PRAYER
Father, send helpers into my life to help me at this trying times. Turn the hearts of my helpers towards me, in Jesus' names.

2 Chr. 15:7
Be ye strong therefore, and let not your hands be weak: for your work shall be rewarded.

Resilience has to do with inner strength that helps you bounce back after hard times.

The Bible made us to understand that God's people can be weak in crisis if their strength is small. That means they fail to build inner energy which naturally comes from intimacy with God.

Intimacy will produce hope which in turn enhances your self esteem, determination and resolve to push-on in spite of challenges. It allows you to figure your path through the darkness.

Choosing to move forward actually means refusing to let setback defines you. John C. Maxwell (2000) refers to this concept as "Failing forward." It means learning from a setback and using that lesson to keep making progress, rather than letting failure stop you. Instead of treating a loss as a dead end, you treat it as a capital for growth.

Anybody can fall but staying down is a choice. What look like failure is the capital for your next experiment.

KEY ACTION
Learn from your mistakes and move forward.

WORD FOR TODAY
Every challenge in your life attempting to define you shall be levelled.

FOCUS: SEED SOWING

Gen. 26:13
Then Isaac sowed in that land, and received in the same year an hundredfold: and the LORD blessed him.

Isaac didn't attempt to pray his way into prosperity as many of us do nowadays. He sow a seed. Sowing is a universal law. You cannot reap unless you sow something.

Don't get me wrong. It is important to pray. Praying may give you direction, enabling you to know the mind of God. But praying without sowing is like a man who clear a forest yet failed to cultivate it. That fellow cannot have a harvest.

Have you ever wondered why God stopped Manna as soon as Israel entered Canaan? God wanted them to sow and reap (Josh. 5:12). I believe in Miracle but when it comes to provision, miracle is used to meet an urgent need and to give you a seed to sow. Sowing ultimately guarantees prosperity.

There are three ways of sowing:
1) Sweating or working hard with your strength or mind. If you do this you'll earn wages.
2) Trading and Investment in shares, stock or goods speculation
3) Giving. This one is like doing business with God. Whatever you give to the poor or church for kingdom works definitely returns in the form of divine blessings (Prov 19:17).

Conclusion: if you don't create value you can't possibly earn a reward. What have you sowed this week?

KEY ACTION
Sow your seed. Anything that brings value to another is a seed.

WORD FOR TODAY
There shall be a return for every investment. Every cankerworm and caterpillar attacking your investments shall be destroyed.

PRAYER
In Jesus name I uproot every devourer that is eating my investments...

John 3:27
John answered and said, A man can receive nothing, except it be given him from heaven.

No man can receive what God hasn't given. He is the only source of blessings - the provider.

While giving is an act of mercy, receiving, on the other hand, is an act of faith. Sometimes, people run back to God not knowing it was their failure to receive that kept them from having.

Receiving means taking certain actions to turn ideas or expectations to realities. This can make you think your own hands have brought you the blessings. The truth is we are only able to take what He gives.

God isn't only merciful, He's rich. This is why Paul prayed for the Philippians that God would supply all their needs according to His riches ... (Phil 4:19). His riches? He owns the heavens, the earth and its fullness thereof.

Even if the global economy fails, God can still open the windows of heaven to bless you. Be rest assured of God's blessings. He is not just a source; He's the source.

KEY ACTION
Connect yourself to the eternal source of blessings by consistent bible meditation and prayers (Psalm 1:1-3).

WORD FOR TODAY
From today, your leaf ceases to wither and whatever you do shall prosper in Jesus' name.

PRAYER
Father, visit me in your mercy and turn my life around. Give me the power, wisdom and attitude to obtain your blessings.

FOCUS: TAKE GOD'S INSTRUCTION SERIOUSLY

Isa. 30:21
And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.

God is our source. Whatever He gives is what we can get. Therefore, we must constantly look up to Him for direction. Failure to do so may lead to struggle especially in trying times like this.

A divine instruction is a specific command given by God to a person. The objective is to help them to find certain provisions that have already been made for them. He often loads us with benefits...

These instructions may not be logical especially if the mind is yet to be transformed. Only those who, by reason of use, have their senses exercised to discern between good and evil, may understand the instructions of God.

Since God's word doesn't always appeal to reason, it takes maturity and faith to yield fully to divine leading.

KEY ACTION
Build personal fellowship with God. The more you stay with Him the more you're adapted to hearing and doing His word.

WORD FOR TODAY
The Sun of righteousness will shine on you today with plenty of healingss. Receive favour and grace for the new week in Jesus' name.

PRAYER
Father, open my ear and mind to connect the sounds and rhythm of the Spirit.

Theme: HOW TO INFLUENCE DIVINE INTERVENTION
FOCUS: SOUL WINNING

Acts 8:26
And the angel of the Lord spake unto Philip, saying, Arise, and go toward the south unto the way that goeth down from Jerusalem unto Gaza, which is desert.

Angels are highly involved in global soul winning mission, the primary assignment of the church.

They are the invisible harvesters helping us to win souls by guidance, supply of resources, signs, warfare etc. They were the first to announce the resurrection of Christ and they haven't stopped ever since.

Remarkably, angels do rejoice in heaven when a soul repents (Luke 15:10)

Philip was practically dragged out of a busy revival in Samaria and directed by an angel of the Lord to a lonely desert road where he met, preached to and baptized the Ethiopian eu**ch. This man became the first recorded seed of the gospel in Africa.

Similarly, in Acts 5:19-20, an angel of the Lord brought the apostles out of prison and commanded them to go preach the words of life. They brought them out of prison for that singular purpose.

Curiously, most of the angelic encounters in the New Testament are linked to soul winning.

Soul winning is the main battle angels are currently fighting. And the easiest way to encounter them is to get involve in this noble assignment.

KEY ACTION
Draw up a soul winning plan and get aligned in the business.

WORDS FOR TODAY
Be still and know that God is with you.

PRAYER
Father, guide my feet into the harvest field and teach my hands to fight.
