THE PARABLE OF THE 10 VIRGINS WAS NEVER ABOUT GOOD CHRISTIANS VS BAD CHRISTIANS...

We often read the parable of the ten virgins as a warning about trying harder, doing more, or keeping enough oil so God won’t reject you.

But when Christ is revealed in the story, the message becomes far deeper.

Matthew 25:1-13...

The parable is not teaching salvation by human effort. It reveals the difference between possessing RELIGION and possessing LIFE.

The ten virgins all looked alike externally. All had lamps. All were waiting. All slept. All woke up.

Yet only five entered.

Why?

Because the issue was not appearance✋🏼

The issue was OIL.

In scripture, OIL is symbolic of the SPIRIT and divine life.

Zechariah 4:1-6
“Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, saith the LORD.”

Romans 8:9
“Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.”

This immediately shifts the focus away from works and places it on UNION WITH CHRIST.

The foolish virgins had lamps without supply.

Form without substance.

Religion without revelation.

Activity without Christ.

This is exactly what Paul warned about:👇🏼

2 Timothy 3:5
“Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof.”

Something to note,
The wise virgins could not transfer oil to the foolish ones.

Why?

Because salvation can not be borrowed.

Your mother’s faith can not save you.

Your pastor’s anointing can not save you.

Your church attendance can not save you.

Every man must personally receive Christ.

John 1:12
“But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God.”

The cry at midnight is powerful.

“Behold, the bridegroom cometh!”‼️

Midnight represents humanity’s darkest state. Christ came into a world dead in sin.

Isaiah 9:2
“The people that walked in darkness have seen a great light.”

The bridegroom is Christ Himself.

Ephesians 5:25-27
“Christ also loved the church and gave himself for it.”

The closed door is not God randomly rejecting people. It represents the end of dependence on self-righteousness.

Those outside still called Him “Lord.” They had a language but not a relationship.

Matthew 7:22-23
“Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord…”

This parable exposes a painful truth that you can be around spiritual things and still not know Christ.🤦🏼

You can sing in church and still not know Him.

Preach and still do not know Him.

Serve and still not know Him.

The gospel is not to do more to keep your lamp burning.✋🏼

The gospel is CHRIST became your life., ‼️

Colossians 3:4
“When Christ, who is our life, shall appear…”

The wise virgins simply had what the foolish lacked:
THE LIFE OF THE SPIRIT.

The lessons we can learn from the parable: 👇🏼

Stop depending on performance.

Stop trusting religious activity.

Stop substituting church culture for Christ Himself.

Eternal life is not found in rituals.

It is found in a PERSON.

1 John 5:11-12
“He that hath the Son hath life…”

The tragedy of the foolish virgins was not weakness. It was the absence of Christ.

And today, the invitation still stands: 🙌🏼

Come to Christ.
Receive His life.
Receive His Spirit.
Receive freely what religion can never manufacture.

May we never carry lamps without oil.
Amen

We win always!!
