Title: HELP IS ON THE WAY!
(Part 24)

Main Text:
"I was the first to tell Zion, ‘Look! HELP IS ON THE WAY!’ I will send Jerusalem a messenger with good news." - Isaiah 41:27 (NLT)

There is help for the hurting, help for those who have lost hope, and compassion and comfort for those in deep despair. At every crossroad of life, Jesus always shows up!

We picked up a word from our main text yesterday - "LOOK" - and our point of emphasis was to recheck where we are looking for help. Man is limited in capacity. I may promise to assist you, but circumstances may work against me, and I may become helpless myself.

Let me advise you: instead of knocking on every door every day seeking help from a particular person, why not create just one hour a day to cry out to God? The Psalmist said: "...does my strength (help) come from mountains? No, my strength(help) comes from God, who made heaven, and earth, and mountains." - Psalm 121:1-2 (MSG)

Your help can only come from God. Don't ever misquote me, "Man" is God's method, no gainsaying about that. But the only men who can render the needed help without strings attached are those whom God has touched.

As you bend your knees to cry to Jesus, He will answer you. The right men will be raised for you in due time. Stop gazing at the MOUNTAINS. Direct your needs and challenges to Jesus. The Bible says: "Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens." - Psalm 68:19 (NIV)

Declarations:
✓ Your burden shall be relieved and replaced with glory, in Jesus' mighty name - Psalm 68:19
✓ Our Father, who is rich in mercy, will show you mercy in that present predicament, in Jesus' mighty name - Ephesians 2:4

Welcome.
You will praise God!

Title: HELP IS ON THE WAY!
(Part 23)

Main Text:
"I was the first to tell Zion, ‘Look! HELP IS ON THE WAY!’ I will send Jerusalem a messenger with good news." - Isaiah 41:27 (NLT)

Did you take note of the word "LOOK" in our main text? This is what we are going to consider today. The word "LOOK" suggests to me as a pointer or roadmap to receiving the help we have been discussing for some time now.

The question here is: are we genuinely looking where we are supposed to be looking? The Psalmist says: "I look up to the mountains; does my strength come from mountains? No, my strength comes from God, who made heaven, and earth, and mountains." - Psalm 121:1–2 (MSG)

The Psalmist helps us understand what has been hindering many of us from receiving the help we have been praying for. Many of us are looking unto "MOUNTAINS" instead of looking up to God - the God and creator of mountain.

Who are those MOUNTAINS? Ignorantly, we are looking at different "mountains"—certain individuals—to help us, whereas God may not have attached our help to them. It is only those God has attached to us who can give us enduring help.

Shift your attention first from man. The Bible says: "Do not put your trust in princes, in human beings, who cannot save... Blessed are those whose help is the God of Jacob, whose hope is in the Lord their God." - Psalm 146:3-5 (NIV). There may be a need to recheck where you are looking. Look up to God the unfailing Helper!

Declarations:
✓ Lord Jesus, as we shift our attention to You, send us help like never before, in Jesus' mighty name. - Psalm 146:5
✓ The Lord Almighty will raise up timely helpers for you, in Jesus' mighty name. - Psalm 118:7

Welcome.
He helps!

WHO SHOULD NOT BE LEADERS IN THE BAPTIST CHURCH AND ITS ORGANIZATION?

By Faith AkpOghene Adegor

This is my personal opinion: there are certain people who should reconsider seeking leadership positions in the Baptist Church and its organizations. The Baptist Church is a CONGREGATIONAL CHURCH. This means that participation, dialogue, questions, accountability, and collective decision-making are part of our system.

1. ANYONE WHO CANNOT RECEIVE QUESTIONS SHOULD NOT SEEK BAPTIST LEADERSHIP

If you become irritated whenever members ask questions, Baptist leadership may not be suitable for you. In our system, leaders ask members, “What do you think?” and members also have the right to ask leaders questions. Being questioned is not necessarily an attack or rebellion. Sometimes people simply want clarification or a better understanding of a decision. However, the right to ask questions is not a license to ask INSENSITIVE, IRRELEVANT, OR DISRESPECTFUL QUESTIONS. Members must be mature in asking, while leaders must be mature in answering. A QUESTION IS NOT ALWAYS AN ATTACK.

2. IF YOUR MENTALITY IS “AS I HAVE SAID IT, SO SHALL IT BE,” BAPTIST LEADERSHIP IS NOT FOR YOU

Some leaders believe that once they have spoken, nobody should question or discuss their decisions. Their philosophy is simply: “DO AS I SAY AND DO NOT ASK QUESTIONS.” That mentality does not fit the Baptist system.

Even when you are convinced that a particular decision is right—or even when you believe God has given you a direction—you must try to explain it and carry the people along. YOU DO NOT SIMPLY ANNOUNCE; YOU EXPLAIN, PERSUADE, AND LISTEN. Leadership is not just about having a vision. It is also about helping people understand the vision.

3. ANYONE WITH A “GENERAL OVERSEER” MENTALITY SHOULD NOT SEEK TO DOMINATE THE BAPTIST PLATFORM

No Baptist leader owns the church or the organization they lead. A pastor, president, or officer is a STEWARD, not an owner. Leaders come, serve, and leave, but the work of God continues. If you want to hold on to power, control everything, surround yourself only with people who say yes to you, or behave as though the institution belongs to you, then you have misunderstood Baptist leadership.

THE BAPTIST SYSTEM IS BIGGER THAN ANY INDIVIDUAL.

If you cannot receive reasonable questions, explain your decisions, carry people along, or remain accountable, then Baptist leadership may not be for you. A BAPTIST LEADER MUST BE ABLE TO LEAD AND LISTEN, SPEAK AND EXPLAIN, MAKE DECISIONS AND REMAIN ACCOUNTABLE. YOU ARE CALLED TO LEAD GOD’S PEOPLE, NOT TO OWN GOD’S PEOPLE.

Title: HELP IS ON THE WAY!
(Part 22)

Main Text:
"I was the first to tell Zion, ‘Look! HELP IS ON THE WAY!’ I will send Jerusalem a messenger with good news." - Isaiah 41:27 NLT

You can't have Jesus and not receive His help. Aside from the major deliverance He came to accomplish in the world, which is saving the human race from the power of SIN that we committed from the Garden of Eden through our first parents, Adam and Eve (Matthew 1:21). One of the other things Jesus Christ came to do was to send help to man in various ways. Jesus is still rendering countless help to all who need it and ask for it.

The kind of help Jesus normally sends to His people is exactly what you are facing right now. Yes, you may want to ask, "How do I know?"

Our Lord Jesus knows the intent of every man's life. He knows what you are currently going through - even what you are unable to disclose to your closest friend. He knows. The Lord said; "Am I a God at hand, declares the Lord, and not a God far away? Can a man hide himself in secret places so that I cannot see him? declares the Lord. Do I not fill heaven and earth? declares the Lord." - Jeremiah 23:23 ESV

The Bible calls Jesus a friend who sticks closer than a brother. Here is the confirmation: "One who has unreliable friends soon comes to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother." - Proverbs 18:24 NIV

The friend the Bible speaks of here is Jesus Christ. That inner pain in your life-concerning your spouse, your children, your workplace, your finances, your ministry, or your church-is well known to Jesus Christ.

Are you presenting those areas where you need help to Jesus right away? Jesus is the Silent Listener to everyone who calls on Him from a genuine heart.

Declarations:
✓ The Lord will rise for you where you are hoping for intervention, in Jesus' mighty name - Psalm 102:13
✓ The Lord Almighty will perfect all that concerns you from now on, in Jesus' mighty name - Psalm 138:8

Welcome.

Title: HELP IS ON THE WAY!
(Part 21)

Main Text:
"I was the first to tell Zion, ‘Look! HELP IS ON THE WAY!’ I will send Jerusalem a messenger with good news." - Isaiah 41:27 NLT

The devil is an "existing failure," but he would not agree with his nature and his practices. On the Cross of Calvary, he (the devil) was defeated. A liar is an unreal person, which is exactly what the devil is, says the Lord, his Creator.

The Lord Jesus, while challenging the Pharisees and Sadducees, said: "You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desires. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies." - John 8:44 NIV

One of his native languages is telling lies, presenting what is unreal as real. I can imagine how the devil has been telling you that you can't be helped anymore in that moment of your trial. But biblically and according to God's agenda, I'm glad to tell you that the devil is a liar. You will be helped, and your Creator will soon rewrite your story for the best.

God says: "For I know the thoughts and plans that I have for you, says the Lord, thoughts and plans for welfare and peace and not for evil, to give you hope in your final outcome." - Jeremiah 29:11 AMP

The Lord said, "...He is going to give you hope in your final outcome." - Jeremiah 29:11 AMP. Trust Him and His Word; the final outcome of what you are going through presently is going to be glory and celebration.

Declarations:
✓ You will laugh last over that matter, in Jesus' mighty name - Jeremiah 29:11
✓ The faithful Lord will take you by surprise and grant your heart's desires this very week, in Jesus' mighty name - 1 Samuel 11:9

Welcome.

What the Christian Journey Entails ✝️

“Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus…” — Hebrews 12:1–2

The Christian journey is a race of faith, endurance, growth, and discipline. It requires laying aside every weight, trusting God through challenges, and keeping our eyes fixed on Jesus.

It won’t always be easy, but we are called to keep running and never give up. 🙏🏽

Title: HELP IS ON THE WAY!
(Part 20)

Main Text:
"I was the first to tell Zion, ‘Look! HELP IS ON THE WAY!’ I will send Jerusalem a messenger with good news." - Isaiah 41:27 NLT

David was our case study yesterday. Shall we explore another way in which David was helped out of many?

Let us look at this Bible verse:
"David sang to the Lord the words of this song when the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said: ‘The Lord is my rock, my fortress and my deliverer; my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge, my shield and the horn of my salvation. He is my stronghold, my refuge and my savior, from violent people you save me. I called to the Lord, who is worthy of praise, and have been saved from my enemies. The waves of death swirled about me; the torrents of destruction overwhelmed me. The cords of the grave coiled around me; the snares of death confronted me. In my distress I called to the Lord; I called out to my God. From His temple He heard my voice; my cry came to His ears.’" - 2 Samuel 22:1–7 NIV.

One of the reasons I love God is because God cannot fail. This was one of many songs sung by David after God had delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from Saul, his archenemy. According to verse 1, David specifically mentioned Saul, "...the Lord delivered him from the hand of all his enemies and from the hand of SAUL...."

Were there human agents who yielded themselves to the devil to torment you? You will see their end soon. Yes, God fought for David and avenged him. You will remember that David had the opportunity to kill Saul twice by himself, but David objected and refused to kill the anointed man of God. God took over, Saul and his sons went into battle and did not return. What a Lord of Hosts is His name!

Declarations:
✓ The Lord of Hosts will fight for you in Jesus' mighty name - Exodus 15:3
✓ Almighty God will deliver you from every so-called Saul in Jesus' mighty name - 2 Samuel 22:7

Welcome.

Title: HELP IS ON THE WAY!
(Part 19)

Main Text:
"I was the first to tell Zion, ‘Look! HELP IS ON THE WAY!’ I will send Jerusalem a messenger with good news." - Isaiah 41:27 NLT

David was marvelously helped on several occasions. Let us examine the place where he was helped, through the testimony he gave.

He says: - "I HAVE BEEN YOUNG, AND NOW AM OLD, YET I HAVE NOT SEEN THE RIGHTEOUS FORSAKEN OR HIS CHILDREN BEGGING FOR BREAD." - Psalm 37:25 ESV

This is one of the testimonies of David, the king of Israel, a man after God's own heart. The entire life of David was a testament of help from the Lord. May this be your portion as well (Amen). God can do all things, but one thing God cannot do is failing to keep His promises.

Are you a child of God? Have you been born again? Have you been regenerated by accepting Jesus Christ as your Lord and personal Savior? If your answer is yes, let me reaffirm and assure you: your help is at the doorstep. Surely, He will send you help.

It may look as though you are about to drown. No! If He did not forsake you the last time you were at a crossroads in life, calm down! He is ready to help you at this particular junction as well.

There is a saying in Yoruba: "Kàkà kí omo olóore jìn sí kòtò, mànàmáná yó ko." — "If it remains but a moment for a righteous man's child to fall into a pit, lightning will flash."

And remember, our Father is a Benefactor. The Bible establishes this: "How God anointed and consecrated Jesus of Nazareth with the [Holy] Spirit and with strength and ability and power; how He WENT ABOUT DOING GOOD and, in particular, curing all who were harassed and oppressed by [the power of] the devil, for God was with Him." — Acts 10:38 AMP

Over that long-standing sickness and disease you have been carrying, calm down, you will rise again!

Declarations!
✓ I decree and declare, every harassment over your life is ending now, in Jesus' mighty name - Acts 10:38
✓ Receive your healing and complete deliverance now from that sickness and disease troubling your life, in Jesus' mighty name - Acts 10:38

Welcome. You are healed!
