The Flesh: The Arch-Nemesis of the New Creation
As a child of God, you have been transformed into a new creation, born again by the power of the Holy Spirit. But, there's a formidable foe that seeks to undermine this transformation and hinder your spiritual growth. That enemy is the Flesh.
The devil, once a radiant being, fell like lightning from heaven, and his demise serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of pride and rebellion. However, your greatest challenge lies not in the devil, but in your own flesh. The Flesh, with its carnal desires and selfish ambitions, is the greatest obstacle to living a Spirit-led life.
Dying to the Flesh: The Path to Spiritual Freedom
To live a life that honors God, you must die to the Flesh. This means surrendering your need for human approval and recognition. It means staying humble, unphased by who acknowledges you or not. The Flesh craves validation from others, but as a new creation in Christ, you must find your identity and worth in Him alone.
You are no longer bound by the opinions of men. You have been saved by Christ, raised up to sit together with Him in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6). Your value and significance come not from human recognition, but from the fact that Christ lives in you, and you are saved.
The Call to Spiritual Living
As you journey through this life, remember that you are not just a physical being, but a spiritual one. Your spirit, born again by the power of God, yearns to soar on the wings of faith, to live a life that is pleasing to God.
Will you answer the call to spiritual living? Will you crucify the Flesh, with its selfish desires and carnal ambitions? Will you choose to live by the Spirit, to find your strength and sustenance in the Word of God?
The choice is yours. But know this: as you die to the Flesh and live by the Spirit, you will experience a freedom and a joy that cannot be found in the fleeting pleasures of this world. You will discover a life that is truly worth living, a life that honors God and brings glory to His name.
