Tabernacle of David Restoration Ministry- restoration assembly TDRM (aka Restoration Assembly) is not another church denomination. Rather it is the expression of the mind of God, His expectation of the end-time Church.

“On that day I will raise up the Tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, and repair it’s damages; I will raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old; that they may possess the remnant of Edom, and all the Gentiles who are called by my name, says the Lord who does this thing” (Amos 9:11-12).

“After this I will return and will rebuild the Tabernacle of David, which has fallen down;

I will rebuild its ruins, and I will set it up; so that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, even all the Gentiles who are called by My name, says the Lord who does all these things. Known to God from eternity are all His works” (Acts 15:16-18). Restoration Assembly is not another denomination, neither is it another church opening shop around the corner, as is prevalent these days rather, it is an expression of the mind of God, His expectation of the Church of the end-time. When the Lord says “I will return to rebuild the Tabernacle of David that has fallen down, to raise its ruin, and set it up as of old”, He is unfolding His strategic plan for the final repositioning and empowerment of the Church, to make it relevant for the fulfillment of her prophetic purposes for the last days on the earth. The Lord is intensifying the correction of the distortions, and imbalances prevalent in the Church. He wants to reinvigorate the Church, empower her, and extend her borders to cover the nations of the earth. He simply wants to make the Body of Christ functional, and relevant for the accomplishment of His end-time purposes on the earth. Through the proclamation of the rebuilding of the Tabernacle of David, the Lord is set to remove all instruments of paralysis that has gripped His Body, because of seasons of compromise, and inaccurate religious activities she has embraced over the years. Once He accomplishes this, we believe that a unique ability would be released to the Church to get the job done. In response to this repair work, the Lord wants to use us (together with other Apostolic and Prophetic Churches across the nations), to rebuild the old ruins, raise the former desolation, repair the ruined cities- the desolation of many generations (Isaiah 61:14). He wants to use us as a banner that will point the Church to the old paths; the good way prepared for her (Jeremiah 6:16). Thus this page is to further proclaim the word of reformation for the re-invigoration and activation of the Church, and the furtherance of the advance of God's Kingdom interest on the earth.

Be Gentle (4)

'Whoever heeds correction is honoured.’ Proverbs 13:18 NIV

When someone corrects you, be teachable and not unreachable. ‘Let every man be quick to listen but slow to use his tongue, and slow to lose his temper.’ (James 1:19 PHPS) If you do the first two things, the third one naturally falls into place. If you are quick to listen and slow to answer back, you’re going to be slow to lose your temper.
‘Whoever heeds correction is honoured.’ So use your ears more than your mouth, and be willing to accept correction. The wisest people have a ‘teach me’ attitude and are willing to learn from others. You can learn from anyone, if you just know the right questions to ask. It is important that you never stop asking questions, because the moment you’re through learning in life, you’re through! Full stop!
Be teachable, not unreachable. Husband, can you learn from your wife, or does that threaten you? When she makes a suggestion, do you get defensive? Do you take every comment as a threat to your manhood? Wife, can you learn from your husband? Parent, can you learn from your children? If you want to end up lonely in life, never admit your mistakes, never learn from anyone, and never let anyone teach you anything. How long has it been since you admitted to your spouse, ‘Honey, I was wrong; it was my fault’? Some people haven’t said that in years.
The Bible says, ‘Humbly accept the word planted in you.’ (James 1:21 NIV) The word ‘humble’ here means ‘gentle’. When you approach God’s Word, you ought to approach it with a gentle, or humble, attitude that says, ‘Lord, I’m willing to be taught.’

TAKE THE INITIATIVE-2

"Blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord.’ Jeremiah 17:7 NIV

Second, take action. There is an old saying ‘you can if you will’. Initiators don’t wait for others to motivate them. They know it’s their responsibility to move themselves forward beyond their comfort zone, and they make it a practice. President Theodore Roosevelt said, ‘There is nothing brilliant or outstanding in my record, except perhaps this one thing. I do the things I believe ought to be done. And when I make up my mind to do a thing, I act.’
The Bible says, ‘Trust in the Lord, and do good [take action]; dwell in the land, and feed on His faithfulness.’ (Psalm 37:3 NKJV)
Third, learn from your failures and keep moving forward. The good news for initiators is, they make things happen. The bad news is, they make lots of mistakes along the way. The greater your potential, the greater your chance for failure.
Senator Robert Kennedy said, ‘Only those who dare to fail greatly can ever achieve greatly.’ Are you constantly on the lookout for opportunity, or do you wait for it to come to you? Are you willing to pray and take a step of faith, or do you endlessly analyse everything? As former chairman of Chrysler, Lee Iacocca said, ‘Even the correct decision is wrong when it was taken too late.’ When was the last time you initiated something substantial in your life? If you haven’t moved yourself forward out of your comfort zone lately, you might have to jump-start your initiative.
The Bible says, ‘He is your helper and your shield.’ (Psalm 115:11 NLT) That means God will help you to succeed. And when you fail, He will protect and redirect you.

The Danger Of Rising Too Quickly

‘Never be in a hurry about appointing a church leader.’ 1 Timothy 5:22 NLT

Before David became the king of Israel, he spent years tending a flock of sheep in the wilderness. That’s not an impressive start. But that’s where he built his relationship with God and honed his skills as a strategist and warrior. If you want to succeed, here is an immutable principle you must understand: God will let you practise in a place where your weaknesses can be worked on, your gifts developed, and where your mistakes won’t affect too many others.
A pilot received word from the control tower saying, ‘You’re cleared for five thousand feet.’ When he got there, he was told to hold for further instructions. Then came the words, ‘You’re cleared for ten thousand feet.’ Gradually the controller took him level by level to thirty-five thousand feet where he was cleared to fly to his destination. That day, God spoke to him saying, ‘I wish you would trust Me like that. Instead, you want to go straight to thirty-five thousand feet in one thrust!’
Try to understand this: God sees the end from the beginning, and He has already mapped out your journey. He knows that if you rise too quickly, there are dangers. You may be in the cockpit—but God is in the control tower! And today He is saying to you, ‘Trust Me and I’ll get you safely to your destination.’ God’s plan for your life can’t be rushed.
When you try to rise too quickly, (1) you make costly and painful mistakes, (2) you adversely affect the lives of those who depend on you, and (3) you end up in a tug-of-war with God, which you lose!

Positioned For God’s Blessing

‘And the Lord said, “Here is a place by Me.”’ Exodus 33:21 NKJV

God told Moses, ‘I will make all My goodness pass before you.’ (Exodus 33:19 NKJV) But in order to see that promise fulfilled, Moses had to be properly positioned, so God said, ‘Here is a place by Me.’ When you function in the place where God has assigned you, you can claim His promise: ‘I will make all My goodness pass before you.’ Why would the Prodigal Son leave his father’s house when everything he needed was there? Because:
(1) He wanted his father’s blessing, but not his oversight. Jesus said, ‘Why do you call Me, “Lord, Lord,” and do not do what I say?’ (Luke 6:46 NIV) Why indeed! Peter Marshall, former chaplain to the US Senate, once prayed: ‘Lord, help us to apply what we applaud.’
(2) He took his father’s blessings for granted. God warned the Israelites: ‘Be careful that you do not forget the Lord, who brought you… out of the land of slavery.’ (Deuteronomy 6:12 NIV) When they crossed the river Jordan, He told them to take twelve stones, one for each tribe, and build a memorial. Why? To remind them of who they were, who He was, and His covenant with them.
(3) He didn’t know the danger waiting for him. As a result, he ended up in a pigpen. The path that takes you away from God may begin with pleasure, but it always ends with pain. Ask those who have walked it, and they’ll tell you, ‘Don’t go there!’
Live by this Scripture: ‘He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.’ (Psalm 91:1 NKJV) Stay positioned for God’s blessing.

Don’t Get Ahead Of God!

‘In due season He will honour you with every blessing.’ Psalm 37:34 TLB

When God gives you a promise or a vision for your life, it’s like a seed; it needs time to take root before it can bear fruit. It’s like the birth of a baby. First conception, then implantation, then pregnancy, and finally the day of delivery. And what do the parents do during this time? Prepare! They get ready for the challenges and responsibilities of parenthood.
You may think you’re ready, but God knows when you’re ready. Though he had already been anointed king, David had to wait about 15 years until God removed Saul from the throne. And during those years he learned valuable lessons. Here is one of them: ‘Don’t be impatient for the Lord to act! Keep travelling steadily along His pathway and in due season He will honour you with every blessing.’ (Psalm 37:34 TLB)
You must learn the difference between what you can do and what God can do. Fools rush in! If you don’t want to risk delaying the fulfilment of God’s plan for your life, don’t get ahead of Him. ‘The vision is yet for the appointed time… it will not fail. Though it delays, wait for it; for it will certainly come.’ (Habakkuk 2:3 KJV) Everything God does is by appointment. And an appointment is simply an event that has already been set. God has scheduled a time for bringing to pass two things in your life: His promises and your vision. And there is great peace in knowing that nothing the enemy does can pre-empt these two things.
So, when you grow impatient, remind yourself, ‘My life can’t end without this happening. God said it, and He will do it!’

You Must Know Truth From Error

‘An enemy has done this!’ Matthew 13:28 NLT

Jesus said: ‘The Kingdom of Heaven is like a farmer who planted good seed in his field. But that night as the workers slept, his enemy came and planted weeds among the wheat, then slipped away. When the crop began to grow and produce grain, the weeds also grew. The farmer’s workers went to him and said, “Sir, the field where you planted that good seed is full of weeds!”… “An enemy has done this!” the farmer exclaimed. “Should we pull out the weeds?” they asked. “No,” he replied, “you’ll uproot the wheat if you do. Let both grow together until the harvest. Then I will tell the harvesters to sort out the weeds.”’ (Matthew 13:24–30 NLT)
There are two important lessons here. (1) You must know God’s Word so well that error, regardless of how convincingly it’s presented, can’t mislead you. Paul warned the Ephesians: ‘Even from your own number men will arise and distort the truth in order to draw away disciples after them. So be on your guard!’ (Acts 20:30–31 NIV)
(2) You must stay spiritually awake and alert. Notice, the weeds weren’t noticeable until they could not be uprooted. Perhaps you think this is no big deal. Think again! One degree off course may seem harmless enough. But if you stay on that trajectory long enough, spiritually speaking, you will end up far from where God wants you to be and realise ‘an enemy has done this!’ So what is the answer?
‘They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer.’ (Acts 2:42 NIV)

To Be Godly Is To Be Good (3)

‘They acted with complete honesty.’ 2 Kings 12:15 NIV

In the Old Testament, when King Joash repaired the temple, we’re told: ‘The money brought into the temple… was paid to the workers… They did not require an accounting from those to whom they gave the money to pay the workers, because they acted with complete honesty.’ (2 Kings 12:13-15 NIV) And because integrity was practised, the nation of Israel prospered.
James Madison, one of America’s Founding Fathers and a signatory to the Constitution, wrote: ‘The aim of every political constitution is, or ought to be, first to obtain for rulers men who possess most wisdom to discern, and most virtue to pursue the common good of the society; and in the next place, to take the most effectual precautions for keeping them virtuous whilst they continue to hold their public trust.’
Nowadays, most surveys show that trust in our political and business leaders is at the lowest point on record. We believe they have only two things in mind: to get rich and to stay in power. And sadly, good leaders receive the same broad-brush stigma. So what should you do?
(1) Pray for those in authority. Prayer is the conduit through which God’s influence is brought to bear in any situation. If you believe that, you will pray.
(2) Support godly leadership. The Bible says, ‘Godliness makes a nation great, but sin is a disgrace to any people.’ (Proverbs 14:34 NLT) Take an interest in their decisions, and praise those actions which show God’s influence at work.
(3) Get personally involved. Edmund Burke is attributed with saying, ‘All that is necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing.’ One person, plus God, can change things. So endeavour to be that person!

To Be Godly Is To Be Good (2)

‘The Lord detests the thoughts of the wicked, but gracious words are pure in His sight.’ Proverbs 15:26 NIV

Sometimes we say to people, half in jest, ‘Try to be good. And if you can’t be good, be careful!’ The idea being that if you decide not to be good, make sure you’re clever enough not to get caught. But in reality, our lack of goodness is no laughing matter.
In the words of Robert Fitch: ‘Ours is an age where ethics has become obsolete. Morality is superseded by science, deleted by philosophy, and dismissed as emotive by psychology. It drowns in compassion, evaporates in aesthetics, and retreats before relativism. The usual moral distinctions between good and bad are simply bathed in a maudlin emotion in which we feel more sympathy for the murderer than the murdered, for the adulterer than for the betrayed, and in which we have actually begun to believe that the real guilty party—the one who somehow caused it all—is the victim and not the perpetrator of the crime.’
Those are sobering thoughts. Things that were once considered black or white are now categorised as grey. Goodness that used to meet a universal standard is now a matter of personal interpretation and preference. And an epidemic of public officials whose private conduct leaves us shocked hasn’t made things any better.
Right about now you may be thinking, ‘I read this devotional every day to get something that will help me feel good, and today isn’t doing it.’ That’s the whole point! In order to feel good, the Bible says you must practise doing good and being good, which makes you a ‘pleasure’ to God.

To Be Godly Is To Be Good (1)

Saturday 20th November 2021

‘Good and upright is the Lord; therefore He instructs sinners in His ways.’ Psalm 25:8 NIV

How would you define ‘goodness’ or ‘the good life’? French philosopher Jean-Jacques Rousseau defined happiness as ‘a good bank account, a good cook, and a good digestion’.
Some would say the good life is physical. They think it doesn’t get any better than a long soak in a hot bath, a back rub, and a drink at the pub. Others would say the good life is material. They think if you have the mansion, the Mercedes, and the money, you’re living the good life. But goodness isn’t about feeling good, looking good, or having goods. It’s about being good and doing good.
And just like we need a clock to tell time and a ruler to measure distance, we need a universal standard for determining goodness. And we have one. God! ‘Good and upright is the Lord; therefore He instructs sinners in His ways.’ Without a universally accepted standard for goodness, it becomes a grey area, a matter of opinion.
Hi**er thought annihilating the Jewish race was ‘a good thing’. Su***de bombers think killing innocent human beings is ‘a good thing’. And such thinking can’t be countered with a simple, ‘That’s not good.’ What’s to keep a Hi**er or a su***de bomber from saying, ‘That’s just your opinion’? The word ‘good’ stems from an old English word with the same connotation as God. It literally means ‘to be like God’. Goodbye is the shortened phrase ‘God be with ye’. So, the universal standard for goodness can only be decided by one who is universally good, and that One can only be God. Think about it!

Don’t Judge A Book By Its Cover

Friday 19th November 2021

‘Look beneath the surface.’ John 7:24 NLT

John Wesley said, ‘We should be rigorous in judging ourselves and gracious in judging others.’ Why did Jesus say, ‘Look beneath the surface so you can judge correctly’? (John 7:24 NLT) Because He had experienced the pain of rejection and misunderstanding. ‘He came to His own, and His own did not receive Him.’ (John 1:11 NKJV)
The apostle James writes: ‘Practice your faith in our glorious Lord Jesus Christ by not favouring one person over another. For example, two men come to your worship service. Suppose you give special attention to the man wearing fine clothes and say to him, “Please have a seat.” But you say to the poor man… “Sit on the floor at my feet.” Aren’t you discriminating?’ (James 2:1–4 GWT)
There’s a story about country singer Lonzo Green. His nephew Jimmy asked him to tune a friend’s guitar. The problem was Jimmy’s friend was from the ‘wrong side of the tracks’ and Jimmy’s parents wouldn’t allow him inside their house where Uncle Lonzo was visiting. So they decided to meet outside. As the kid approached, Green noticed his self-consciousness and sideways glances at the upscale neighbourhood. Lonzo, who had experienced poverty and discrimination in his own life, tuned the boy’s old guitar, played a few songs, and taught him some chords. The young man thanked him and left with a warm memory he would carry throughout the rest of his life.
Eventually that boy crossed the tracks for good with his guitar and soft, polite drawl and hesitant smile, and was never unwelcome again. That’s because the boy who wasn’t allowed in the house that day was—Elvis Presley!
