This is an amazing paraphrase of Job 1, by Anton Van Reenen. In this time, when churches have been closed, I think this is so precious. Read and enjoy:
"There was a day that Satan came before the Lord, and the Lord said to Satan, “From where have you come?” Satan answered the Lord and said, “From going to and fro on the earth, and from walking up and down on it.” And the Lord said to Satan, “Have you considered my church, how they gather every Sunday, and praise and worship My Holy Name. They do this year in and year out, every Sunday morning, all over the world. From the time the sun rises in the east until the sun sets in the west, My Name gets glorified, like a wave washing over all the earth.”
Then Satan answered the Lord and said, “Have you not blessed them with health, wealth and prosperity, with which they have built beautiful church buildings, and filled it with amazing technology? Have You not blessed them with all manner of talents that they bring together in these beautiful churches they built and worship You with beautiful music that appeals to their senses?”
“But if You stretch out Your hand, and take all that from them, strike them down with a plague or even just the fear of a plague, they will go quiet and worship You no more. This wave of worship, running from the east of the earth to the west, every Sunday morning and evening, will stop, and all will go quiet. Who will worship You then? Who will still make Your Name great?”
And the Lord said to Satan, “They are in your hand.”
So, Satan unleashed a deadly virus upon the earth, and soon churches closed all over the world. Everyone, Christians and Gentiles hunkered down in their homes, and everything went quiet and Satan was standing there, watching, waiting. All the angels were standing in heaven, watching, waiting. God was standing there, watching, waiting, as a great silence fell over all the heavens and all the earth.

SIX (6) WAYS MEN CAN ESCAPE POVERTY.

1. Get the right woman - Forget the slay queens and women with looks but zero brains. Get a woman who will not only support your vision but will also push you to achieve more. A woman who will inspire you to work hard and not a woman who just makes you hard. He who finds a real woman finds a good thing and obtains favour and power to create wealth.

2. Stop Taking Cheap Drinks - I have no problem with having drinks during social interaction and networking. However, when you drink cheap drinks or drink in cheap places, you hang out with cheap people who have cheap ideas and a cheap future. Big business opportunities are found in places where the drinks are expensive. In fact, in places where they sell cheap drinks, the only people you will find there are people who will be asking you for money. They even clap when you come knowing 'big buyer' has come.

3. Stop being Lazy - "Man ooh Man, why art thou Lazy?" You are too lazy for your own good. You sleep the whole day and blame the government for your poverty. "A Little Sleep, a Little Slumber, poverty shall overtake you like a political cadre in overalls". A lot of men are just lazy when it comes to making money. They have enough energy to give a woman five or***ms, but have no energy to start one organization, that's why it is so easy for men to manufacture children than it is to make even pegs for putting children's clothes on the line..

4. Know Productive Things - If you keep too much junk in your head, you get a junk life. I know a lot of men who are so sharp when you are talking about girls, about soccer and about street politics, Who is Rich who is not,Who has a good house but you can't bring a topic about investment, innovation and business, they start looking at their phone, yawning or saying bye.. Useless things, videos and memes go viral fast than constructive things.. A man must know how to do at least one productive thing (have one skill) even without having gone to college.

5. Get Connected to Big Men Who are better than you - A lot of men are failing because they are not mentored. They don't have anyone to whom they can sit down and listen, with obedience. In the old days, old men would sit young men down and show them how to hunt and kill animals... and no man was considered a man enough until he has personally killed an animal... now these men of nowadays are not mentored and can't even kill a bird. There are men out there who have made it in life, find a way to get mentored by big men who are making waves and impacting people in our community.

6. Work - Stop Spending your whole day just praying and fasting yet you know that both Quran and Bible tells you that God will bless the work of your hands. Yes yes The blessing finds you on your way doing something,Stop using Prayer as an excuse not to work. Work hard.
It’s an error for your pockets to be empty and your brain to be empty too.

TOPIC : HAPPY NEW YEAR

Deuteronomy 33:29,
Happy art thou, O Israel: who is like unto thee, O people saved by the LORD, the shield of thy help, and who is the sword of thy excellency! and thine enemies shall be found liars unto thee; and thou shalt tread upon their high places.

The title of this topic of our devotion today may appeared familiar to us because this is the greeting language of every new year .

Ofcourse We are happy that we are seeing the new year "happy New year".

But may I tell you the bitter truth, and I want the truth to enter into your heart, what make a year happy is costly, and if you want this year to be a happy year , you should be ready to pay the price .

It is not enough to start this year with so much zeal and passion , but you must be ready to pay the price of discipline in order to continue in this zeal and passion .

What is it that make a year happy ?

1 . A life totally yield to God : In the service of sin there is no rest, the promise of peace is guaranteed by our avoiding of sin and walking in holiness in the new year.

The Gospel of God, which comes to us through Jesus Christ, offers relief from the burden of sin and guilt, "Come unto Me, and I will give you rest" (Matthew 11:28).

Don't drag with your maker this year, release yourself to God , this is what make a year happy.

2 . A life that put God first: this should not be strange to you , we are at a time that a lot of things are seeking to be first in your life , taking the position that belong to God .

But if this year will be "Happy New Year " Put God first in all you do , in your plan put Him First , In your goal put Him First, In your aim put Him First, When He is the first thought of EVERYDAY of this year, the last thought in the night, the first person you talk to , then everything will be begin to fall into places , working out for your favour.

3 . A life of charity, giving and Love : What will continue to make this year happy is showing continuous love to people around you.

Give to those who need, but give with the wisdom of God, be charitable towards all men , Love in all your ways , Love in words , Love in attitude, love in action , Love in practical, let everything , let every service you render be in love and through love.

By putting this word of God into practice, I wish you a continuous Happy New year.

Prayer : I receive the GRACE to live a life that will make this year a continuous Happy New year in Jesus Christ name.
