Children are gifts from God, but parents are also ordained by God to nurture, guide and instruct them. In today’s world, many children speak harshly, rudely and carelessly to their parents without understanding that such communication grieves God and brings sorrow into the home. The Lord expects children to speak with wisdom, humility and honour.
*The Bible warns against disrespectful communication because parents are representatives of authority in the family. Even when correction comes, children must learn to respond calmly and respectfully. Words spoken in anger can wound deeply and destroy peace in the home*.

*RESPECTFUL WORDS BRING BLESSINGS*
The way a child speaks can either attract blessings or correction. God commands children to honour their father and mother. Respectful communication shows maturity, wisdom and godliness. A soft answer turns away wrath, but rude responses stir up anger and strife. Children who answer respectfully will enjoy peace, favour and long life according to God’s promise. *REBELLIOUS SPEECH BRINGS Reproach. Many children today shout at parents, insult elders or speak proudly. Such behaviour displeases God greatly. Rebellious communication often begins with pride and disobedience in the heart.*

The prodigal son in The Bible spoke and acted disrespectfully toward his father before leaving home. His careless attitude led him into suffering and regret. Children must avoid angry words, mockery and stubborn speech.
*RIGHT COMMUNICATION REFLECTS CHRISTLIKE Character. Jesus Christ showed submission and honour even as a child. He listened, obeyed and communicated with wisdom. Every child of God should imitate Christ in speech and behaviour*. Children should learn to: Speak politely, Listen before answering, Avoid shouting, Say “please” and “thank you”, Apologize when wrong
Pray for grace to control their tongue
A child who communicates wisely will become mighty in character, favour and destiny.

The life of Elijah is one of the greatest examples of a man who became practically mighty in prayer and in the Spirit. Elijah was not an angel; he was a human being like us, yet his prayer life carried extraordinary power. He was in a generation filled with idolatry and wickedness. Elijah stood boldly for God. His prayers controlled the atmosphere, called down fire from heaven, and brought restoration to a nation. This teaches believers today that spiritual might is not by physical strength but by intimacy with God and consistency in prayer. *A believer who wants to become spiritually powerful must learn from the lifestyle of Elijah*.

A believer who wants to become spiritually powerful must learn from the lifestyle of Elijah. Let us explore *HOW ELIJAH BECAME MIGHTY IN PRAYER AND THE SPIRIT*
1. HE LIVED IN GOD’S PRESENCE
Elijah constantly stood before God before he stood before men. Secret fellowship produced public power. Before confronting King Ahab, Elijah declared: “ *As the Lord God of Israel liveth, before whom I stand*…” Those who stand before God in prayer will stand boldly before challenges in life. 1 Kings 17:1
2. HE PRAYED FERVENTLY AND PERSISTENTLY
Elijah did not pray casually. He prayed with intensity, faith, and persistence. On Mount Carmel, he prayed until fire fell. Later, he prayed repeatedly until rain came after years of drought. Mighty men in the Spirit do not give up easily in prayer. James 5:17-18

3. HE WALKED IN HOLINESS AND OBEDIENCE
God trusted Elijah because he obeyed divine instructions completely. Obedience preserved the flow of God’s power upon his life. The Spirit of God rests mightily upon believers who walk in purity and surrender. 1 Kings 17:5
LESSONS FROM ELIJAH’S LIFE. Prayer can change impossible situations. One spiritually empowered believer can affect an entire nation. *Fire falls where there is genuine altar fellowship*. God still answers fervent prayers today. *The same God who empowered Elijah wants believers today to become spiritually strong, prayerful, and full of divine authority. The Holy Spirit is able to raise a generation that will carry revival fire in these last DAYS*. THE SIGNS OF A CHILD OF GOD WHO IS MIGHTY IN THE SPIRIT

Parenting is not merely a natural assignment; it is a divine stewardship. God does not just give children—He gives seeds with destinies. Whether those seeds become mighty trees of righteousness or wither in compromise depends greatly on parental responsibility.
The Scriptures present us with striking Contrasts. First, the children of Eli. Though they were born into a priestly lineage, they became corrupt and dishonored God. Eli saw their wrongdoing but failed to restrain them. This teaches a sobering truth: passive parenting produces wayward children. When correction is absent, destruction is inevitable. Eli loved his sons, but he did not lead them—and love without discipline is incomplete.

In contrast, Samuel stands as a product of intentional parenting. Though raised in the temple, his foundation was laid by a praying mother, Hannah (1 Samuel 1:27-28). Samuel grew “in stature, and in favour with the Lord” (1 Samuel 2:26). Godly seeds flourish where prayer, dedication, and instruction abound. Hannah did not just give birth to Samuel; she returned him to God.

Then we see Joseph, a young man who carried godly values into a hostile environment (Genesis 39:7-9). Even in Egypt, far from parental supervision, Joseph refused sin, declaring, “How can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?” This reveals that true parenting implants convictions that outlive your presence. Joseph’s discipline and fear of God did not begin in Egypt—they were cultivated at home.Beloved, if our children must be mighty in the land, we must: Model righteousness before them. Correct them with love and firmness. Train them intentionally in God’s Word. Cover them continually in prayer
The future greatness of a child is not accidental—it is cultivated.

Happy new month to you again. We are about to learn something in God's Kingdom today.
There is a mystery in the Kingdom: God delights in the praise that flows from the mouths of children. When a child lifts his or her voice in thanksgiving, heaven responds with power. *According to Psalm 8:2, God has ordained—that means established and authorized—perfect praise through them. This kind of praise is not complicated; it is pure, sincere, and powerful enough to silence the enemy.*

"*Children carry a unique spiritual authority when they praise God. Their thanksgiving is not mixed with doubt, pride, or fear. It rises as a sweet fragrance before God and releases divine strength. When children are trained to praise and thank God, they become spiritual weapons in God’s hands—breaking strongholds, attracting God’s presence, and establishing victory in their environment*.

Furthermore, Psalm 112:2 makes us to know that the seed of the righteous shall be mighty upon the earth. One of the secrets of this mightiness is a lifestyle of praise and thanksgiving. *A praising child becomes a prevailing child. A thankful child becomes a triumphant child. As a parent, teacher, or guardian, teaching children to praise God is not optional—it is spiritual empowerment. And as children engage in praise, they step into strength, favour, and divine elevation*.

*Almighty God🙏🏼, we thank You for the gift of a new month-May 2026*. Thank You for preserving us, for mercy that kept us, and for grace that brought us here. We enter this new season with praises and thanksgiving in our hearts.
*PRAYERS*
👉🏼I pray for you and your household, as the Word of God has declared in Psalm 112:2 *“His seed shall be mighty upon earth: the generation of the upright shall be blessed.*”
You shall be mighty in the land because the Lord is doing great things in your family, career, academics, marriage, ministry, business and every other area of your life.
👉🏼 This month,the blessings of the Lord shall come on you and overtake you. Deut 28:2
👉🏼 Every evil plan of the enemy is cancelled. God’s plan of peace, renewed , restoration, hope, abundance, increase, fruitfulness, overflowing joy, and sound health shall stand in Jesus mighty name.
