WHEN WE WAIT UPON HIM, HE IS COMING FOR SURE

PASSAGE: Psalm 40 (NIV), Isaiah 40 (NKJV)

1 I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. 2 He lifted me out of the slimy pit,
out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand. (Ps 40, NIV)

Salvation is 100%God’s work

Salvation is a process; once saved, God continues to work in us, with us. He will help us continue in that (saved) condition, until the last moment of our lives

God loves us from the depth of His heart. He expects the same from us

David waited patiently for the Lord. What does “waiting”mean?

In the New Testament, we see Jesus telling the disciples to wait

4 On one occasion, while he was eating with them, he gave them this command: “Do not leave Jerusalem, but wait for the gift my Father promised, which you have heard me speak about. (Acts 1, NIV)-emphasis added

And while waiting, they were praying, in one accord, one purpose

14 They all joined together constantly in prayer, along with the women and Mary the mother of Jesus, and with his brothers.(Acts 1, NIV) –emphasis added

This “waiting” gave them much more, than what they expected

Without waiting in His presence and receiving from Him, no one can ever become an effective witness for the Lord (Acts 1:8)

If you have a passion for more of Him, just go to His presence and “wait”

You will receive much power/strength and will be able to do what others are not able to do, with their own strength. He will bring you out of your present condition and put you in a higher place, and make your feet ready for battle

It doesn’t matter whatever kind of “Goliaths” you face. The trick/secret of victory is to wait in His presence. Others might look at you and ask “what can this kid do?”, with just a few “stones”, but you will see. They asked of Jesus, “what can this carpenter’s son do?”, because they didn’t know who Jesus was!

30 Even the youths shall faint and be weary, And the young men shall utterly fall, 31 But those who wait on the Lord Shall renew their strength; They shall mount up with wings like eagles, They shall run and not be weary, They shall walk and not faint (Isaiah 40, NKJV)-emphasis added

In the NIV, the word “hope” is used instead of “wait”

So, in waiting upon the Lord, we pray, expecting great thongs from the Lord. Pray until we get the answer, like Jacob, by the brook of Jabok;

like the blind Bartimaeus who cried Jesus, “son of David, have mercy on me”, Jesus will make a STOP for us and bless us, before He proceeds any further

Are we too busy to do just that? May be we are dangerously busy!

Also remember: the devil will try to do anything and verything to take our attention away from doing that, creating “issues” and bringing “people” before us

But bring all such things under captivity and stay focussed on God

He will set your feet on high, give you a new, new song!

PRAYER: Father God, I thank you for all your blessings, your love and care for me through Jesus and the Holy Spirit. You have given me the best-yourself. I admit that I didn’t make the best of this best gift. Help me God. In Jesus’ name.
