Today we'll be taking a look at "the cross & the way of Life"
Luke 12:49-50 is our text.
Also see: Mark 10:38,Romans 6:3.

Jesus was saying that there's about to be a dispensational change that will cause serious strife and contention.
Jesus was totally sold out to the call of God. He did not care about the consequences. He didn't caress the flesh in him, there were no negotiations. The world had no part in him. He did not care about what people will say. He offended everything so that everything might start afresh- such should be our perspective and reasoning if we claim to be sons of God. There was no room for needless fleshly weakness.
Even moses who was loved by God was almost killed by God on this account (Moses didnt circumcise his son,see Exodus4:24-26), God will not tolerate anything apart from himself. God does not spare his sons. When it comes to his sons, the stakes are very high. Hence, if we claim to belong to God, then, we must keep this in mind. God is a consuming fire.
Also remember, your life is not yours, it is God's.
What controls your faculty of thinking? Is it you or God? Do you think and reason only in the flesh?
If we claim to be sons of God,we must behave as such.
As God's children, our perspectives must be aligned with God.
When we are free to make choices, do we choose God above everything?
Or are we like the children of Israel, who when taken captive into Babylon, started learning the language and ways of Babylon?
Instead, let us be like Daniel who, when the whole world was under the power of Babylon, decided not to defile himself and refused the worship of idols even when it could have cost him his life.

Prayer:
Father, we trust in you to bring us to yourself again. We pray that you would open our understanding. We pray that we will hear your voice clearly. We refuse to have dull minds &dull spirits. We pray Father that we will discern your thoughts clearly. We refuse to be defined by the thoughts and perspectives of other people. We receive Grace to stand for you wherever we find ourselves in Jesus name. Amen.

Let us open to the Book of psalm 24 vs1. the Earth is the Lord's and the fullness thereof the world and they that dwell there in.
Vs2 for he had founded it upon the seas and established it up on the floods.
Vs3 who shall ascend into the hill of the lord or who will stand in his holy place?
Vs4 he that hath clean hands and a pure heart who has not lifted up his soul unto vanity not sworn deceitfully
Vs5 He shall receive the blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation
Vs6 this is the generation of them that seek him by that seek thy face o Jacob. Selah
Vs 7 lift up your heads o ye gates and be lifted up ye everlasting doors and the king of glory shall come in vs 8 who is this king of glory? The lord strong and Mighty the lord mighty in battle
Vs9 lift up your heads o ye Gates; even lift them up here everlasting doors and the king of glory shall come in
Vs 10 who is this king of glory? the Lord of hosts he is the King of glory.
Selah.

prayer point1: lord make my hands clean only those who have clean hands and a pure heart can ascend onto the mountain of the Lord.

Let us open to the Book of Matthew 5:8 blessed are the pure in heart for they will see God
Another verse says "those who are wise will flee to the mountain"
What mountain are you living on is it your mountain or is it God?
We are at the junction where systems are collapsing and governments don't know what to do where is your security?
Your security is meant to be in your personal conviction.
we are in the days where men say there is no God.
Do you have a solid conviction that tells you that God will come through for you?
Blessed are the pure in heart for they shall see God is your heart pure if it is you will see God
Exodus 33: 11,
Exodus 33:20-23
Here we see that Moses sought the face of God and God spoke to him face-to-face as a man speaks to his friend.
We can also see here where God said to Moses that no man can see me and live. the day Moses saw God he passed from death to life.

As chaos begins to take over the earth. You and I need to hold on to our conviction: Christ Jesus- Our Solid Rock
There will be overwhelming situations in life what will you do to overcome them?
No matter how powerful you are, everyone comes to the end of themselves but God has no end, He is ageless and timeless.

Psalm 118:1-4
The mercy of the Lord endures forever.

A pure heart is a heart that trusts God 100% and has no idol. Even a
100 years of human life is like a flower.

Sunday meeting- 3rd May 2020, Voice of the Spirit

Abib (Feast of Unleavened bread) represents parts of late march and April- it signifies the period God delivered the children of Israel out of slavery. (1599 Geneva Bible Notes, Exodus 13:4)

“ The LORD spoke to Moses saying, Sanctify to Me [that is, set apart for My purpose] every firstborn, the first offspring of every womb among the children of Israel, both of man and of animal; it is Mine.” Moses said to the people, “Remember [solemnly observe and commemorate] this day on which you came out of Egypt, out of the house of bo***ge and slavery; for by a strong and powerful hand the Lord brought you out of this place. And nothing leavened shall be eaten. On this day in the month Abib, you are about to go onward. And it shall be when the Lord brings you into the land of the Canaanite, the Hittite, the Amorite, the Hivite, and the Jebusite, which He swore to your fathers to give you, a land [of abundance] flowing with milk and honey, that you shall keep and observe this rite (service) in this month. For seven days you shall eat unleavened bread, and on the seventh day there shall be a feast to the Lord . Unleavened bread shall be eaten throughout the seven days; no leavened bread shall be seen with you, nor shall there be leaven within the borders of your territory. You shall explain this to your son on that day, saying, ‘It is because of what the Lord did for me when I came out of Egypt.’ It shall serve as a sign to you on your hand (arm), and as a reminder on your forehead, so that the instruction (law) of the Lord may be in your mouth; for with a strong and powerful hand the Lord brought you out of Egypt. Therefore, you shall keep this ordinance at this time from year to year.
Exodus 13:1‭-‬10 AMP

Prayer-
1. Lord in d name of Jesus, Let every egyptian spirit you have delivered me from not resurface in my life again.
2. I will eat the fruit of my labour, another will not take what is rightfully allocated to me by God in Jesus name, Amen.

This eyptian spirit is reflected when you have an ability but for some reason you can’t achieve anything with it. Some people are in custody of this spirit ( they use it to hold other people in bo***ge or to initiate people without their knowledge) Consequently some people eat so much and yet look so lean. They working so hard yet someone else is reaping the fruit of their labour.
For example look at the Jacob and Laban situation carefully:
You know that I have served your father with all my strength. Yet your father has cheated me [as often as possible] and changed my wages ten times; but God did not allow him to hurt me. If he said, ‘The speckled shall be your wages,’ then the entire flock gave birth to speckled [young]; and if he said, ‘The streaked shall be your wages,’ then the entire flock gave birth to streaked [young]. Thus God has taken away the flocks of your father and given them to me. Genesis 31:6‭-‬9 AMP

If the God of my father, the God of Abraham, and [the Feared One] of Isaac, had not been with me, most certainly you would have sent me away now empty-handed. God has seen my affliction and humiliation and the [exhausting] labor of my hands, so He rendered judgment and rebuked you last night.” Genesis 31:42 AMP

A lot of people do not know that their weakness is as a result of someone else living on their energy. They work so hard but achieve so little. It is because someone connects to them using ungodly means in an attempt to access their God given abilities (such connections often lead to some developing unnatural sexual appetites others and tendencies- le****ns and g**s)
Prayer- Those things that God has done in my life that has led to my deliverance from egyptian bo***ge will not resurface in my life in Jesus name amen.

The egyptian bo***ge refers to: thought patterns that are not Christ-centered, ministries that have lost their calling, churches that their candlesticks have been removed, relationships that don't contribute to spiritual growth, generational curses and so on....

Exodus 13:8

Prayer:
1. Egypt (House of bo***ge- Not being able to express your God-given gifts because of supernatural influences) is behind me in Jesus name and it will not have a place in my present and future in Jesus name amen.
2. The work of God and blessings of God in my life will transfer into more blessings and greatness for my children in Jesus name. Amen.

This topic very important because in nation like Nigeria there some people are looking for who to use spiritually e.g intellect wise, star-wise etc. and there are people who are in bo***ge just like the children of Israel were.
Exodus: 13:8-16

Prayer- Let go of those things that signifies bo***ge Egypt in your life.

Exodus 14
As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up and saw the Egyptians marching after them, and they were very frightened; so the Israelites cried out to the Lord . Then they said to Moses, “Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What is this that you have done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? Did we not say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians?’ For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians [as slaves] than to die in the wilderness.” Exodus 14:10‭-‬12 AMP

Prayer-
1. Lord in the face of adversity, Give me Faith, not a murmuring spirit like the children of Israel. Forgive me where I’ve been faithless. Let me not be swallowed by the darkness (faithlessness)of my generation.

2. Lord in the midst of this adversity plaguing the whole world, Lord bring the nations to your self. Let every man come to know you personally in Jesus Name. Amen.

TODAY IF YOU HEAR HIS VOICE DO NOT HARDEN YOUR HEARTS.
Therefore, just as the Holy Spirit says, “Today if you hear His voice , Do not harden your hearts as [your fathers did] in the rebellion [of Israel at Meribah], On the day of testing in the wilderness , Where your fathers tried M e by testing [My forbearance and tolerance], And saw My works for forty years [And found I stood their test]. Therefore I was angered with this generation , And I said , ‘They always go astray in their heart , A nd they did not know My ways [nor become progressively better and more intimately acquainted with them]’; So I swore [an oath] in My wrath , ‘They shall not enter My rest [the promised land].’ ” Take care, brothers and sisters, that there not be in any one of you a wicked, unbelieving heart [which refuses to trust and rely on the Lord, a heart] that turns away from the living God.
Hebrews 3:7‭-‬12 AMP

The children of Israel witnessed God's mighty works, how delivered them from the slavery in Egypt but they were guilty of a wicked and unbelieving heart- testing God.

Therefore, while the promise of entering His rest still remains and is freely offered today, let us fear, in case any one of you may seem to come short of reaching it or think he has come too late.
Hebrews 4:1 AMP

What becomes of your life is your responsibility.
From the day God created man, the bible states that God instructed Adam and Eve not to eat the fruit in the midst of the garden- in the day eat it they would die

And the Lord God commanded the man, saying, “You may freely (unconditionally) eat [the fruit] from every tree of the garden; but [only] from the tree of the knowledge (recognition) of good and evil you shall not eat, otherwise on the day that you eat from it, you shall most certainly die [because of your disobedience].”
Genesis 2:16‭-‬17 AMP

And when the woman saw that the tree was good for food, and that it was delightful to look at, and a tree to be desired in order to make one wise and insightful, she took some of its fruit and ate it; and she also gave some to her husband with her, and he ate.
Genesis 3:6 AMP

They had the free will to choose to obey God but they didn't.
You can choose to negotiate your destiny with God. Even though people may have brought prophecies to you or you've seen dreams or visions, you can choose to secure yourself in the throne of God- in his love which is greater than dreams, visions and prophecies.
Is it possible to come short of entering into the rest of God? Yes it is.

Therefore, while the promise of entering His rest still remains and is freely offered today, let us fear, in case any one of you may seem to come short of reaching it or think he has come too late. For indeed we have had the good news [of salvation] preached to us, just as the Israelites also [when the good news of the promised land came to them]; but the message they heard did not benefit them, because it was not united with faith [in God] by those who heard. For we who believe [that is, we who personally trust and confidently rely on God] enter that rest [so we have His inner peace now because we are confident in our salvation, and assured of His power], just as He has said, “As I swore [an oath] in M y wrath , T hey shall not enter M y rest ,” [this He said] although His works were completed from the foundation of the world [waiting for all who would believe]. For somewhere [in Scripture] He has said this about the seventh day: “And God rested on the seventh day from all H is works ”; and again in this, “T hey shall not enter M y rest .” Therefore, since the promise remains for some to enter His rest, and those who formerly had the good news preached to them failed to [grasp it and did not] enter because of [their unbelief evidenced by] disobedience,
Hebrews 4:1‭-‬6 AMP

The children of Israel did not mix what they heard with faith. Another example of this type of nonchalant attitude can be seen in Eli- He heard that his sons were evil, God was going to destroy him and his lineage- instead of him to repent and sit up, he said," It is the Lord, let Him do as He pleases"

The Lord said to Samuel, “Behold, I am about to do a thing in Israel at which both ears of everyone who hears it will ring. On that day I will carry out against Eli everything that I have spoken concerning his house (family), from beginning to end. Now I have told him that I am about to judge his house forever for the sinful behavior which he knew [was happening], because his sons were bringing a curse on themselves [dishonoring and blaspheming God] and he did not rebuke them. Therefore I have sworn to the house of Eli that the sinful behavior of Eli’s house (family) shall not be atoned for by sacrifice or offering forever.” So Samuel told him everything, hiding nothing from him. And Eli said, “It is the Lord ; may He do what seems good to Him.”
1 Samuel 3:11‭-‬14‭, ‬18 AMP

You can choose to have a solid covenant with God that nothing like Covid-19 will reach your doorstep. These are not the days to treat God as a trivial thing. You need to honor God and align yourself in His will.
God forbid that you are trying to undo the works that have been finished.
We pray not to go and do another work when every works have been finished by God from the beginning.
The children of Israel did not enter in because of unbelief.

Study for the week: Exodus 1-13
Let us comfort one another this season
Prayer- God please give us leaders after your heart.
The kind of leaders we have in Nigeria reflects the state of the heart of Nigerians.
We need to pray that God performs a reconstructive surgery in our hearts as a people.

Remember: what becomes of your life is your responsibility.
In Exodus 14, let's look at the children of Israel's reaction when Pharaoh's armies were closing in on them:

As Pharaoh approached, the Israelites looked up and saw the Egyptians marching after them, and they were very frightened; so the Israelites cried out to the Lord . Then they said to Moses, “Is it because there are no graves in Egypt that you have taken us away to die in the wilderness? What is this that you have done to us by bringing us out of Egypt? Did we not say to you in Egypt, ‘Leave us alone; let us serve the Egyptians?’ For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians [as slaves] than to die in the wilderness.”
Exodus 14:10‭-‬12 AMP

God took over the situation

The angel of God, who had been going in front of the camp of Israel, moved and went behind them. The pillar of the cloud moved from in front and stood behind them. So it came between the camp of Egypt and the camp of Israel. It was a cloud along with darkness [even by day to the Egyptians], but it gave light by night [to the Israelites]; so one [army] did not come near the other all night. Then the Lord said to Moses, “Stretch out your hand over the sea so that the waters may come back over the Egyptians, on their war-chariots and their charioteers.” So Moses stretched out his hand over the sea, and the sea returned to its normal flow at sunrise; and the Egyptians retreated right into it [being met by the returning water]; so the Lord overthrew the Egyptians and tossed them into the midst of the sea. The waters returned and covered the chariots and the charioteers, and all the army of Pharaoh that had gone into the sea after them; not even one of them survived. But the Israelites walked on dry land in the middle of the sea, and the waters formed a wall to them on their right hand and on their left. The Lord saved Israel that day from the hand of the Egyptians, and Israel saw the Egyptians [lying] dead on the seashore. When Israel saw the great power which the Lord had used against the Egyptians, they feared the Lord [with reverence and awe-filled respect], and they believed in the Lord , and in His servant Moses.
Exodus 14:19‭-‬20‭, ‬26‭-‬31 AMP

Imagine seeing all these miracles and wonders God did and still habour unbelief in your heart?
The word of God was preached to them but they were destroyed because of unbelief.

Prayer- Having seen the great works of God, let's pray not to be destroyed because of unbelief.
- We pray we will not return back to the thing God has delivered us from in Jesus Name Amen.

Next week, we'll be looking at topic titled- the Egyptian Spirit (the spirit of Egypt that was still in them even after leaving Egypt)

25/04/2020

God reminds us through His word that He is our refuge and strength. We know He will secure us in His love and mercy. We are not afraid, we rebuke the spirit of fear and we choose to be led by the Holyspirit. We trust in the blood of Jesus to cover us and we plead the blood over ourselves and we use ourselves as a point of contact to the whole body of Christ as a whole. We pray that God will provide healing to the world.
In the book of Exodus, God made a distinction between the children of Israel and the children of Egypt. There was darkness in the land of Egypt and Light was in the land of the Children of Israel. Also, God instructed the children of Israel to place the blood of lambs over the door posts and as the death angel passed not one of them died, not even their animals died but there was death of the first born of all in Egypt both people and animals. (Exodus12:13&23)
The blood of the lamb pasted on the door typifies Christ whose blood redeemed us from death. (John1:29) (Rev5:9&12) Today we tap into the finished works of Christ and trust in Him.
Let The Peace of the Lord Christ Jesus rest upon you today.
Shalom

Then there is the removal of faults and abuses. Where are the faults and abuses? Look around at the religious scene and you will see the faults, the abuses and the desperate need for change. Where are the model saints? We ought to be raising model saints, the kind Christians could take as examples and say, "I want to follow these men and women and be like them as they are like their Lord." But we are simply not producing saints in this generation. Most Christians are bad examples to other Christians. We work hard to get people converted, and we think we do God's service. Then after we get them converted and they get to know us, we are bad examples to them. I consider this an abuse in the church of Christ. . . . Another fault is carnality. The Apostle Paul talked about the carnal Christians of Corinth, and he labored and prayed and wept over the carnality of those Christians. This describes most evangelicals today: carnal, immature, without miracles, without wonders, lacking a wonderful sense of the presence of the Lord, held together by social activities and nothing else. Another roadblock to reformation is prayerlessness among God's people. For 100 years the Moravians never stopped praying. They staffed a prayer tower as a factory staffs its machines. In eight-hour shifts the Moravians continued their prayer vigil for 100 years. Carelessness is another fault among evangelicals. Careless Christians do not discipline or examine themselves. Plato once said, "A life that is not examined is a kind of death." People who simply live by their instincts and do the best they can, but do not examine themselves are careless and, according to Plato, may as well be dead.

The Church and Money

The question of money and its place in the church is calling for a prayerful restudy in the light of the Holy Scriptures. The whole matter should be reappraised and adjusted to conform to the teachings of Christ.

Our Lord simply did not think about money the way His professed followers do today; and more particularly He did not give it the place our religious leaders give it. To them it is necessary; to Him it was not. He had nowhere to lay His head, and we have made poetry out of His poverty while being extremely careful not to share it. We have explained away His clear declaration that it is impossible for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. We have commingled the teaching of Christ with the teachings of Benjamin Franklin and the dollar-sign philosophers which America has produced in such abundance, and Christ's teachings have lost their meaning for us.

Church finances are a good and proper part of church life, but there is an ever-present danger that they will grow too important in the thinking of the church officers and slowly crowd out more vital things. In our local assemblies and other evangelical organizations there are signs that should disturb us greatly, signs of degeneration and decay that can only lead to spiritual death if the infection is not discovered and checked.

To be specific, some of our religious leaders appear to have developed mercantile minds and have come to judge all things by their effect upon the church finances. What a church can or cannot do is decided by the state of the treasury. Its spiritual outgo is determined by its financial income, with no margin for miracle and no recognition of a spiritual ministry unrelated to money. Such evil practice results from an erroneous attitude toward the whole financial question as it relates to religion.

We need sweeping reformation. Let me give a definition of reformation as it is given in a religious dictionary: "Change by removal of faults or abuses, and a restoration to a former good estate." Now that is not so bad. I do not know how anybody who believes he or she is a Christian could ever object to changing in the direction of the removal of faults and abuses toward the restoration to a former good estate. The problem is change, which disturbs many people. They have accepted the status quo as being the very tablets given by God on the mountain. Most people, if they happen to be in any church anywhere, accept the status quo without knowing or caring to inquire how it came to be. In other words, they do not ask, "Oh God, is this of You, is this divine, is this out of the Bible?" Because it was done and is being done, and because a lot of people are doing it, they assume it is all right. Then songs are written about it, and it gets into magazines. Pretty soon people are called to it, and the first thing we know we have gotten into a religious situation that is not of God. It is not according to Scripture, and God is not pleased with it at all. Rather, He is angry. Yet we do not know it because we do not like the word change. The change took place slowly, before we arrived on the scene, and we think because it is everywhere it is therefore right. We accept the status quo, the existing state of affairs, and say, "This is it," forgetting that history demonstrates that religions invariably degenerate.
A. W. Tozer Sermon: Grappling With Change

30/08/2019

Everyone (theologians, atheists, unbelievers) know Jesus of Nazareth, the one who walked in the streets of Jerusalem and taught by the banks of the Galilean river. Everyone can say something about him, read about him, quote him and even have an opinion about who he was BUT not everyone knows about Jesus Christ, the resurrected Lord, the One who defeated sin and death, the one who seats on the right Hand of the Father, the one who is everything in-between, the first and the Last, the very Image of God, the mediator between God and man and the intercessor of the Saints. Except He reveals himself to you to you, you can never know Him or his personality. Not everyone claiming to be a "Christian" is "Christ-like".

The knowledge of Christ is Transgenerational and can never be exhausted. Though Constant in His Nature, the knowledge of Him evolves as Knowledge is passed from one generation to another as he reveals Himself in the diversity of His personality. The challenge man has (as evolution progresses) is the inability to sustain that crude revelation of Faith that was once passed unto the First Apostles of Faith.
How have you progressed in your Faith as you grant God access into your Heart, evolving from glory to ever increasing glory (2Cor. 3:18).
Stay with Him. Allow the revelation of the Lord be dropped within via his words and His very commanding aura and his indwelling personality will emanate from your within.
In his words... "out of your belly shall flow rivers of living waters" (John 7:38b). This is only done by the spirit who delights in revealing the glorified Christ to anyone who desires and thirsts after Him. Seek after the Lord today. Ask for more of Him. He reveals Himself only to those who DILIGENTLY (with intense concentration, focus and consistency) seek Him.
