*Special Remembrance: Our Beloved* *Mummy (Mrs. Omolotopaknu)*
*5 Years Remembrance*

Preacher: Rev. I.O. Adisa (D.G.O)
Bible Reading: Proverbs 10:7
Topic: Remembrance of the Just (Righteous)

Introduction

The Bible makes us understand that remembrance is very important—both with God and with man. God remembers, and humans also remember. The question is: what will you be remembered for?

Proverbs 10:7 says, “The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.”

This shows clearly that there are two kinds of people: the righteous and the wicked—and each has a different end.

1. Who are the Righteous?

The righteous is one who does what is right in the sight of God.
Righteousness is not just by words, but by actions and lifestyle.

The righteousness of Christ is our righteousness. Therefore, we must live according to His ways.

Reflection:

Are you doing the right thing?

Are your actions pleasing to God?

If you are not doing what is right, it means you are walking in wickedness.
And the verdict for the wicked is destruction.

2. Why are the Righteous Remembered?

The righteous are remembered because of their good works and godly life.

Psalm 112:6 – The righteous shall be in everlasting remembrance.

Their impact lives on even after they are gone.

Their life becomes a blessing to others.

Also:

Proverbs 13:22 – A good person leaves an inheritance for their children’s children.

The righteous leave behind legacy, values, and blessings.

Proverbs 10:7 – The memory of the just is blessed.
They are remembered for good, for impact, and for righteousness.

3. God Remembers the Righteous

God Himself remembers the righteous, not just for this life, but for eternity.

Ecclesiastes 12:14 – God will bring every work into judgment, whether good or evil.

This means nothing we do is hidden from God.
Every righteous act is seen, recorded, and rewarded.

The righteous will receive eternal life.

4. The Reward of the Wicked (Unjust)

Their name will rot away.

They may be known for a while, but their memory fades with shame.
Their end is destruction.
Unlike the righteous, the wicked leave no lasting legacy.
Their works do not bring honor, and they are not remembered for good.

Conclusion

Let us choose to be remembered for good.

Let our lives reflect:

Righteousness

Truth

Obedience to God

Whatever we do today will speak for us tomorrow.

Final Charge:
Live right.
Do good.
Walk with God.

So that your name will be a blessing, and not be forgotten.

SERMON TITLE: YOUR CHILD IS A DESTINY
Text: Proverbs 22:6
“Train up a child in the way he should go, and when he is old, he will not depart from it.”
INTRODUCTION
Every child born into this world is not a mistake — your child is a destiny.
That child represents the purpose of God on earth.
Your existence is not by accident. The reason you are here on earth is tied to your destiny — God’s divine plan for your life.
WHAT IS DESTINY?
Destiny symbolizes the purpose of God for your life.
It is the assignment God has given you to fulfill on earth.
Your tomorrow is determined by what you do today.
If you don’t take responsibility now, your destiny can suffer.
FACTS ABOUT DESTINY
God has given everyone a destiny to fulfill.
Everyone has a destiny — no one is empty.
The devil is always looking for ways to spoil people’s destiny.
No man can change your destiny — only you can.
Destiny can be delayed if you are careless.
Destiny can be denied — 1 Samuel 2:30.
DESTINY AND CHILDREN
The Bible says in Proverbs 22:6 that we must train our children in the right way.
Why? Because:
Your child carries a destiny.
If you fail to train that child, you may destroy that destiny.
What you plant in a child today will determine their future.
CAN DESTINY BE AFFECTED?
Yes.
Destiny can be delayed — when you are not serious with your life.
Destiny can be denied — when you disobey God.
Destiny can be destroyed — if you allow the enemy to take control.
But remember:
You are the major determinant of your destiny.
HOW TO DELIVER YOUR DESTINY FROM CAPTIVITY
Accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Personal Savior
Your destiny begins with God.
Pray destiny recovery prayers
You must pray to recover anything that has been lost.
Command your destiny to align with your star
Speak positively into your life.
Pursue your purpose relentlessly
Don’t stop until your destiny becomes reality.
CONCLUSION
Beloved, your destiny is precious.
Don’t sit down and watch it be wasted.
Stand up. Pray. Work. Fight spiritually.
And for your children — train them well, because they are destinies in your hands.
DECLARATION
My destiny will not be delayed!
My destiny will not be denied!
My destiny will not be destroyed!
I will fulfill God’s purpose for my life in Jesus’ name!

TOPIC: *OVERCOME HOUSEHOLD REJECTION*
TEXTS:
Psalm 27:9
Psalm 41:9
*INTRODUCTION:*
Psalm 27:10 says:
“Though my father and mother forsake me, the Lord will receive me.” (NIV)
Psalm 41:9 says:
“Even my close friend, someone I trusted, one who ate my bread, has turned against me.” (NIV)
Also, in Matthew 10:36, Jesus said:
“A man’s enemies will be the members of his own household.”
This shows clearly that rejection can come from the closest people — family, friends, and loved ones.
Let me share a story that gives hope:
One day, my stepmother cooked beans. Before cooking the good beans, she selected the bad and useless ones and threw them into the backyard. But when the rainy season came, those rejected beans began to grow. They flourished and became beautiful plants.
Surprisingly, the same person who threw them away returned to harvest them. She realized that what she rejected actually had value.
This reminds us of what Jesus said:
“The stone which the builders rejected has become the chief cornerstone.”
Beloved, do not cry when people reject you. Do not be discouraged when others look down on you. Your season of rain will surely come, and those who rejected you will celebrate you.
Every painful story has a successful ending — if you do not quit.
*HOW TO OVERCOME HOUSEHOLD REJECTION:*
Take heed to God’s Word
(Joshua 1:8; Psalm 119:105)
Pray for spiritual strength
(Isaiah 40:29)
Grow in spiritual maturity
(Genesis 39:6–10)
Resist the devil
(1 Peter 5:8; Ephesians 6:11)
Run away from dangerous situations
(Hebrews 12:1)
Be busy for God
(Psalm 1:2)
Attend church regularly
(Hebrews 10:25)
Avoid bad company's
(2 Corinthians 6:14–16)
Cry unto God in prayer
(Jeremiah 33:3)
Be filled with the Holy Spirit
(Acts 2:4)
*TEN (10) KEYS TO OVERCOME HOUSEHOLD REJECTION:*
Put God first
Love one another (John 3:16; John 15:13)
Be thankful always (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
Be honest and of good character (Acts 6:3)
Be kind to others (2 Timothy 1:16)
Love your family
Have faith in God (Hebrews 11:1)
Give generously (Genesis 4:4)
Pray continually (1 Thessalonians 5:17)
Serve God faithfully (John 4:23–24; Matthew 6:33)
*CONCLUSION:*
Rejection is not the end of your life — it is the beginning of your elevation.
Those who despise you today will celebrate you tomorrow.
Stay faithful, remain prayerful, and trust in God.
*PRAYER:*
Receive the grace to overcome every household enemy and rejection in Jesus Christ’s mighty name.
God bless you as you continue to follow and share the good news of Christ.
