🔥 HE PAID IT ALL
Jesus does not share the glory of redemption.
On Good Friday, the Church does not come to admire courage in the abstract. We come to behold the Lamb of God bearing sin, enduring judgment, speaking mercy, and finishing the work the Father gave Him to do. The words of Jesus from the cross are not fragments of suffering only. They are the voice of redemption itself. In them we hear forgiveness for the guilty, hope for the dying, tenderness in sorrow, abandonment under wrath, and final triumph in obedience.
The cross leaves no room for shallow religion. Here sin is shown for what it is, and grace is shown for what it cost. Christ was not overcome by men. He gave Himself willingly. Even in agony He forgave, promised paradise, cared for others, and yielded His spirit into the Father’s hands. When He cried, “It is finished,” He did not speak of defeat, but of completion. The sacrifice was offered. The debt was answered. The way to God was opened through His blood.
Good Friday calls every soul to lay aside indifference and look again at Christ crucified. This is the place where judgment and mercy meet. This is the place where the sinner sees both the horror of evil and the greatness of divine love. Let the heart not move lightly past the cross. Let it bow, believe, and worship. 🔥
