Topic: The Gospel Power and its Revealing Righteousness of God (Part 2)

Text: Romans 1:16-17
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.
For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith."

Today's message is a continuation of what we started on Friday. On Friday, we saw that associated with the gospel is power that makes the gospel an experience. Today, we shall be looking at; the gospel as a shared responsibility, how to experience the power of the gospel, and the revealed righteousness in the gospel.

THE GOSPEL AS A SHARED RESPONSIBILITY
The gospel and its accompanying power is a shared responsibility between man and God. While it is your responsibility to preach the gospel, it is the responsibility of God to manifest the power as a confirmation of the gospel (Mark 16:19-20, Acts 14:3, Acts 3:11-16).
You can see from the Scriptures that this responsibility is shared. But what do we see in the Church today? We see people assuming the responsibility of God, instead of just focusing on their own responsibility. How stress-free we can be if we allow God to do His work while we do our own! You have nothing to lose, if it appears as if there is no power manifestation; that concerns God.
Some years ago, I was in Bishop Wale Oke's program in Ibadan. In that program, Baba Adeboye was one of the speakers. He said, there was a day he was so worried about the Church that God had to ask him, "What do you say is the name of the Church?" And he answered, "Redeemed Christian Church of God." Then, he said God asked him, "Is it Redeemed Christian Church of Adeboye?" According to Baba Adeboye, from that day he learnt not to trouble himself about the Church, leaving it for the owner to so do. Brethren, let's leave the responsibility of gospel power to God and face our responsibility of the preaching of the gospel (the good news). Anointing is the Divine backing for the confirmation of the gospel. It is not for you and I to confirm but God's.

HOW TO EXPERIENCE THE POWER OF THE GOSPEL
Now, how can one experience the power of the gospel according to the need of the moment?
The Bible is very unambiguous about this; it is by believing in the gospel. "It is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes". It is for everyone who believes; whether Jews or Greeks, whether black or white, all you need is to believe. You just have to believe the gospel of the finished work of Christ at Calvary. Where He (Christ) said it is finished to sin, sickness, bo***ge, failure, poverty, curses, affliction etc (John 19:30, Galatians 3:13-14, Mark 5:35-36).

THE REVEALED RIGHTEOUSNESS IN THE GOSPEL
What does the Bible mean by, "Therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith"? How does the gospel reveal the righteousness of God? What does this righteousness of God mean?
The first thing that comes to mind as we hear that in the gospel is the righteousness of God revealed, is holiness. One may not be wrong if he thinks so, but I want to say that it is not just holiness in the literal sense; it is about the goodness of God. Which, of course, in its sum total can be called the holiness of God (Romans 2:4; 11:22-23, Psalm 27:13; 31:19; 107:15,31).
The gospel, which is the good news about Christ, reveals the righteousness of God as we tell people what Christ has accomplished through His death and resurrection for them; salvation from sin, sickness, afflictions, bo***ges, poverty, etc, (Acts 10:38). It is the goodness of God that every work of the devil in our lives is destroyed. From the beginning of His earthly ministry, Jesus made His mission known (Luke 4:18-20).
It becomes another gospel, when the righteousness, the goodness, of God is not revealed through your preaching (Galatians 1:6-9). The gospel as the grace and righteousness of God is not supposed to be troubling but appealing and attractive when delivered without pervasion.
Prayers:
Please, I want you to pray as the Holy Spirit will inspire and motivate you to pray, haven seen the awesomeness of the gospel.

Topic: The Gospel Power and its Revealing Righteousness of God

Text: Romans 1:16-17
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jews first and also the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, 'The just shall live by faith.'"

When the Bible says the gospel of Christ is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, what does it mean?
It means there is an accompanying power of the gospel that results in salvation for anyone who believes. This salvation is all encompassing; salvation from sin, sickness, death, poverty, bo***ge, etc. Whenever and wherever the gospel is preached, it is expected to transmit power to meet the need of the moment.
This was the experience of the disciples (Mk. 16:19-20).
It is what was promised to everyone that preaches the gospel (Acts 1:8, Matt. 28:18-20, Lk. 9:1-2).
But, as you can see, the emphasis is on the gospel of Christ and not on the power. The power naturally flows where the gospel is preached (Lk. 5:17). That was why Jesus made His disciples to understand that they don't need to rejoice because demons were subject to them in His name, since He never sent them without the accompanying power, but that there names are written in the book of life (Lk. 10:17-20).
That was the power thousands of people experienced while Apostle Peter was preaching on the day of Pentecost and they gave their lives to Christ (Acts 2:36-41).
With this understanding of the accompanying power of the gospel, tell me, how would anyone be ashamed to preach it? This gospel is what is called the grace of Christ, whereby, He exchanged His riches for our poverty (2Cor. 8:9, 2Cor. 5:21). When we encounter the gospel, we experience the exchange that took place at the cross, depending on the need at that moment: for the sick, by His stripes he is healed; for the poor, by His poverty he is rich; for the sinner, by Him becoming sin he is made righteous etc. Child of God, this is the gospel of Christ.
We shall continue from here tomorrow. Now, let us pray:
1. Thank God for this deeper understanding of the gospel and its accompanying power.
2. Pray that with this understanding God should give you boldness to preach the gospel of Christ.
3. Pray for the experience of the power of the gospel in any area of your life where it is needed.

Topic: Kingdom Lifestyle

Text: Matthew 6:33
"But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you."

Today's Message is a continuation of yesterday's message. Yesterday, we talked about pursuing the Kingdom of God and His Lifestyle (Righteousness).
Today, we want to emphasize on the Kingdom Lifestyle, which is, righteousness. It is actually this lifestyle that distinguishes Christians from unbelievers.
There are times you listen to people in the social media castigating Pastors and you would want to weep. At first, you will be unhappy with the people, but as you take time to listen, you cannot but agree with what they are saying. They seem to know what is expected of the Church than some of us who are Pastors, going by the things they criticize us for.
What is their problems with many Pastors? Is it that they hate God and the so called men of God? The answer is NO! They are only unhappy with the Pastors who are emphasizing on such things that have no eternal value. They are worried, and rightly so, that instead of messages that transforms life, these Pastors are claiming to be miracle workers; projecting themselves rather than projecting Christ.
Whereas, miracle is auxiliary to the Gospel of Salvation. It is not supposed to be the focus of any ministry; it is a byproduct of the gospel (Matt. 6:31-34).
Kingdom Lifestyle is what Jesus taught His disciples that is commonly referred to as, "Beatitudes" (what should be the attitudes of believers) - Matt. 5-7.
Kingdom lifestyle is what makes one a Christian; Christ-likeness. They are the characteristics of a Christian. Until a disciple is called Christian, he is not like Christ (Acts 11:26). All Christians are disciples, but not all disciples are Christians.
Kingdom lifestyle is in doing and being; it is what you do and who you are. By their fruits you shall know them (Matt. 7:15-17, Jn. 1:36).
Like Apostle Paul, every Pastor should labour to see that Christ is formed in his people (Gal. 4:19). That is what it means to watch over their souls (Heb. 13:17). Without this, one is labouring in vain. Such work will be burnt with fire (1Cor. 3:13-15).
It is not how many miracles you performed but how many lives you transformed (Matt. 7:21-23, Eph. 4:11-13). Whatever Jesus will not do, we should not do; whatever Jesus is not, we should not be. The Bible says, "As He is, so we are in this world" (1Jn. 3:2-3, 7; 4:17).
Prayers:
1. Let us pray that God will raise men and women that will genuinely labour for the souls of men.
2. Pray that you will not be a misrepresentation of Christ to the world.
3. Pray that Christ be formed in you.
4. Pray for grace to pursue Kingdom lifestyle.
5. Pray for the Church to be the true light to the world.

Topic: The Pursuit of the Kingdom and God's Lifestyle

Text: Matthew 6:31-34
"Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentitles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about its own things. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble."

To seek first the kingdom of God is to make the pursuit of the Kingdom your primary concern. And you cannot seek the Kingdom of God and want to live a different life from the Kingdom. The life of the Kingdom is righteousness. Hence you are to seek them jointly.
By implication, according to Jesus, it is a misplaced priority to be worrying yourself about what to eat, drink and wear. And yet, this is what people are dying for; looking for prophets everywhere for the miracle of provisions; provision of children, husband, prosperity, job, etc. It is the mark of an unbeliever to seek those things rather than the Kingdom.
Child of God, there is no denying the fact that you need those things, but they are not to bother you; God knows that you need them.
Jesus was very mindful of His choice of words when He said, "Your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things." It is usually the responsibility of a father to provide for his children, once he knows their needs and if they are what he can provide.
God does not have problem with us having these needs, but how we go about them. God is concerned about our worrying for those things. Once you are worried, you will become desperate to have them. This is what has made many to compromise their faith.
Esau despised his birthright because of food (Heb. 12:16).
Many are worried about the fruit of the womb, and they end up with false prophets.
Many are worried about riches and they end up seeking any means to be rich.
Many are worried about life partner, who to marry, and they end up with babalawos and false miracle workers.
For whatever reason you are worried or anxious, if you don't take time, you will end up being deceived and destroyed.
Whatever will make you worry, provision has been made; tell God about it in prayer (Phil. 4:6-7, Lk. 18:1-8).
You cannot change your situation by being worried. It is God's responsibility to change that situation (Lk. 12:25-26). Your responsibility is to pursue the Kingdom and the lifestyle of the Kingdom (Lk. 12:31-34).
What does it require to overcome anxiety? Faith! (Matt. 6:30, Lk. 18:8).
When you are worried; running from one "prophet" to the other, you lack faith.
What faith? Faith in your heavenly Father's ability to provide for your needs. Rather than have faith in God, many are having faith in men. Even when the lifestyle of these men are contrary to Kingdom lifestyle, they will tell you the man is a prophet.
May God help us to set our priorities right and make Kingdom of God and His righteousness our primary concern.
Prayers:
1. Lord, I overcome every form of anxiety in my life in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. Lord, I receive grace for Kingdom addiction in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. Lord, let Your lifestyle become my ultimate pursuit, to be like Jesus, in the name of Jesus Christ.
4. Lord, whatever it will cost me to possess the Kingdom, help me to pay the price in the name of Jesus Christ.
5. Lord, I handover my needs to You for my daily supplies in the name of Jesus Christ.

Topic: The Secret of a Fruitful Life

Text: John 12:24-26
"Most assuredly, I say to you, unless a grain of wheat fall into the ground and dies, it remains alone; but if it dies, it produces much grain. He who loves his life will lose it, and he who hates his life in this world will keep it for eternal life. If anyone serves Me, let him follow Me; and where I am, there My servant will be also. If anyone serves Me, him My Father will honor."

To truly give your life to Christ is to lose control over your life. It's to let God take control of your life. This is what it means to take His yoke upon you and live for His glory and not be servant of man (Matt. 11:28-29, 1Cor. 6:20; 7:23).
This is what it means to be crucified with Christ and live for Him and not frustrate the grace of God (Gal. 2:20-21).
When the grace of God is not frustrated, there will be results in that life (1Cor. 15:10).
A scenario of a life that is bought with a price by the Lord, a fruitful life, is painted in the relationship between the Egyptians and Pharaoh under Joseph (Gen. 47:18-26). Until the Egyptians surrendered their all to Pharaoh, they were living a dissatisfied life; a life of lack and wants. But after Joseph bought them and their lands for Pharaoh, just as Jesus has bought us for God, they began to live in abundance. Out of their income, according to the law, 1/5th was for Pharaoh, while 4/5th was for them. What abundant life indeed! This is the life Jesus gives (Jn. 10:10).
But to have this experience, you must not lay claim to your life or anything. The seed you sow must belong to God (2Cor. 9:10, Gen. 47:23-24).
Child of God, indeed, to gain your life, is to lose it for Christ sake (Matt. 10:39). Allow Christ the ownership of your life and you will live a fruitful and fulfilling life.
Prayers:
1. Lord, deliver me from myself in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. Lord, I surrender my all to you in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. Lord, I receive grace to wait on You for my seed in the name of Jesus Christ.
4. Lord, help me to live the abundant life You have given me in the name of Jesus Christ.
5. Lord, help me to truly live, move and have my being in You, in the name of Jesus Christ.

Topic: HOW CLOSE ARE YOU TO JESUS?

Text: Genesis 45:7-11
"And God sent me before you to preserve a posterity for you in the earth, and to save your lives by a great deliverance. So now it was not you who sent me here, but God; and He has made me a father to Pharaoh, and lord of all his house, and a ruler throughout all the land of Egypt.
Hurry and go up to my father, and say to him, 'Thus says your son Joseph: God has made me lord of all Egypt; come down to me, do not tarry. You shall dwell in the land of Goshen, and you shall be near to me, you and your children, your children's children, your flocks and your herds, and all that you have. There I will provide for you, lest you and your household, and all that you have, come to poverty; for there are still five years of famine."

Can you believe the truth when you find any? Jesus said, "And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall set you free." The truth of the Bible is not known on the surface of it, but by revelation; insight.
What I am bringing to you today is the truth that has the capacity and the capability to permanently set you free, as long as you observe to do according to the revelation.
Joseph was a type of Jesus; when you are reading about Joseph, see yourself as reading Jesus. In the Old Testament Jesus was concealed and in the New Testament He was revealed; the Old Testament was a shadow of things to come, while the New Testament is the picture of the Old Testament shadow.
Important things to note from our text:
1. That it was God and not the brothers of Joseph that actually sent him to Egypt to suffer. The same way it was God and not we sinners that sent Christ to suffer at the cross (Gen. 45:7, Acts 2:23).
2. The purpose of God sending Joseph was for the preservation of the posterity of his people, to save their lives by a great deliverance. The same way Jesus was sent for the preservation of our posterity, to save us from future destruction (Matt. 1:21)
3. God made Joseph both lord and ruler over Egypt, So also He made Jesus both Lord and Christ (Acts 2:36).
4. Joseph invited his people to come to him, just as Jesus invites all peoples to come to Him (Gen. 45:9, Matt. 11:28).
5. Joseph's people were to be close, near, to him, just as anyone Jesus called is to be with Him (Gen. 45:10, Mk. 3:13).
6. Unless his people stay close or near to him, Joseph will not be able to provide for them. So also it is that, unless we are close to Jesus, He will not be able to provide for us (Gen. 45:11, Ps. 23:1-6)

Beloved, Jesus have all the powers to protect, preserve, and provide for us as Lord. Everything is subject to Him. But how close are we to Him?
Many of us are worshipping Him from afar, hence we are not enjoying the benefits of the Kingdom. Joseph was very unambiguous about it; stay near to me, there I provide for you and yours.
There is a place in God we must stand in order to be hidden in the cleft of the rock; the place where He puts His hand upon us (Ex. 33:21-22)
It is not a place is a place. There is a special and specific place of fellowship with God. It should not be in the same place where Joseph deals with the Egyptians; but a special place for his people. That is the place God want to be meeting with you; not where He meets with the whole of humanity.
You are are special people (1Pt. 2:9-10). The place by Him is the place of consecration, the place of intimacy, the place of His presence.
Prayers:
1. Lord give me grace to stay close to You in the name of Jesus.
2. Lord, my provisions are in your presence, so let me not lack supply in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. Lord, for my sake you sacrificed Your life to preserve my posterity; please, let my eternal salvation be secured in Jesus name.

Topic: WHAT AILS YOU?

Text: Genesis 21:16-19
"Then she went and sat down across from him at a distance of about a bowshot; for she said to herself, 'Let me not see the death of the boy.' So she sat opposite him, and lifted her voice and wept.
And God heard the voice of the lad. Then the angel of God called to Hagar out of heaven, and said to her, 'What ails you, Hagar? Fear not, for God has heard the voice of the lad where he is. Arise, lift up the lad and hold him with your hand, for I will make him a great nation.'
Then God opened her eyes, and she saw a well of water. And she went and filled the skin with water, and gave the lad a drink."

As I buy into the Spirit, over the mood of people at this time, as a result of the biting economy, this voice came, "What aileth thee?" I knew God wanted me to talk to someone concerning the situation.
The situation was so bad with Hagar; watching her child dying helplessly. And she began to weep. This is the position of many families now; I heard the Spirit said to me; many are unable to feed their children. People are in a hopeless situation; watching their children starving.
Nothing can be more painful than finding yourself in such a situation and you cannot do anything about it. But I have good news for you today, God has sent me as His Angel to ask: What ails you? And to tell you that He has heard the voice of the children.
Anytime God hears anyone's cry, He comes down with solution (Ex. 3:7-8, Lk. 7:11-15). He comes to change the situation. For the Israelites, He said He was taken them to a large land; a land flowing with milk and honey. For the widow, her dead child was restored.
God doesn't leave anyone where He meets him. He leaves him better.
While Hagar was seeing the dying child, God was seeing a great nation coming out of the child (Gen. 21:18).
Child of God, concerning that child or those children that you are weeping because of the difficult situation, God is making something great out of them. What you are going through is only for their stories in life to be complete.
God will open your eyes to see the immediate solution to your needs (Gen. 21:19).
As the angel of God:
* I command you to find what to give to the children to eat in the name of Jesus.
* That dying child is a rising star in the name of Jesus.
* Kings shall be your foster fathers in the name of Jesus.
* Queens your nursing mothers in the name of Jesus.
* You shall not be ashamed because you wait on the Lord (Is. 49:23) in the name of Jesus.
* You shall not lack food on your table anymore, because a divine table is set before you in the name of Jesus.
* Your tears are wiped away in the name of Jesus.
* Your sorrow is turned to joy in the name of Jesus.
* I see you sing a new song, because you are seeing everything turning around for your good in the name of Jesus.
Child of God pray with these prophecies until you can feel in your spirit they are yours.
Have a blessed day!

Topic: Shortening the Pandemic Period

Text: Matthew 24:21-22
"For then there will be great tribulation, such as has not been seen since the beginning of the world until this time, no, nor ever shall be. And unless those days are shortened, no flesh would be saved; but for the elect sake those days Will be shortened."

It is very important for you to know that you are too precious for God to forsake you. He promised not to leave nor forsake you (Heb. 13:5-6).
Do you know what it means for God not leaving you? Isaiah 43:1-2 gives the answer. When God says He will not leave you, He is implying that whatever you go through, He will go through with you.
Anytime you are faced with a challenging situation, know that you are not alone, because He promised to be with you to the end (Matt. 28:20). Even in this pandemic time, He is with you; you may not feel or know it, but just believe it.
He cannot be with you and the storm will overwhelm you, because He is there to calm it (Mk.4:36-39).
What about to forsake? When He said He will not forsake you, it implies that He will not deny you.
I prophecy concerning anyone coming across this message, who is experiencing any form of problem, that the God whom I serve, whose I am, put an end to that problem now, in the name of Jesus Christ.
Going back to our text, He talked about the tribulation that will hit the world as such that has never been since the beginning of the world. He said, if the time is not shortened no one will be saved. Thank God He did not stop there.
What did He say next? That for the elect sake; for your sake, the time will be shortened.
I am announcing by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, that Heaven, God, for your sake, have decided to shorten the period of the pandemic in the name of Jesus Christ.
For the sake of His own, God will always intervene and put an end to the problem. If God was ready not to destroy S***m and Gomorrah if ten righteous people were found (Gen. 18:32), we are more than 10 for God to allow Coronavirus to destroy us. It took Abraham's intercession to bring God to that point. And I am hearing the Lord Saying, "Call upon Me, and I will answer" (Jer. 33:3).
Church, God is waiting for us to pray in order to save the world from this pandemic. For the sake of Paul God saved all that sailed with him (Acts 27:23-25). All we need is to believe God.
If Joshua prayed and the sun stood still and the moon stopped, we can stop the Coronavirus Pandemic through faith based prayer.

Prayers:
1. Thank you Lord for I am not alone in this period of the pandemic; you are with me in the name of Jesus Christ.
2. Lord, in this period of the pandemic, I receive the comfort of your presence (Ps. 23:4-5) in the name of Jesus Christ.
3. Lord, for the sake of your children, let this pandemic be cut short in the name of Jesus Christ.
4. Lord, save us from the destruction that walks at noon and the pestilence at night in the name of Jesus Christ.
5. Lord, as you bring this pandemic to an end, show us great and mighty things that we did not know before in the name of Jesus Christ.
6. Let's begin to counter the Coronavirus polluted atmosphere with the Holy Spirit curative atmosphere; saturate the air world over with the Holy Spirit cleansing power in the name of Jesus Christ.

Topic: Provoking One Another to Love and Good Works

Text: Hebrews 10:24-25
"And let us consider one another in order to stir up love and good works, not forsaking the assembly of ourselves together, as is the manner of some, but exhorting one another, and so much the more as you see the Day approaching."

Jesus commanded us to love one another (Jn. 13:34-35). What could be the underlying factor for this command?
This is what I perceive Hebrews 10:24 is about; it is about what loving one another produces.
If we love one another, we will be there for one another; challenging one another to love and for good works. We are better together. Ecclesiastics 4:9-12 gives us a better Understanding of how we are better together: 1. They have good reward for their labour. Meaning you are better together than being alone. 2. If they fall one will lift up his companion. 3. It eliminates the feeling of loneliness that leads to spiritual su***de. 4. The relationship is not complete without the Holy Spirit who is the lead partner; He influences the relationship for better result. Without the Holy Spirit, making up the threefold relationship, love for one another will be impossible.
5. Another purpose for loving one another is the sharpening of one another (Prov. 27:17). So our text admonish us to consider one another In order to stir love and good works.
The ultimate purpose of loving one another is for good works.
*You will challenge one another to love the Great Commission (Matt. 28:19).
*You will challenge one another to pray.
*You will challenge one another to study the Bible.
*You will challenge one another to practice all the spiritual disciplines.
It's about watching for one another as we see the Day approaching. It's talking about the coming of the Lord. Unless we challenge one another to love and good works, we will be going empty handed.
And the Mater is not going to tell you well-done. That's why a hymn writer sang: "Must I go empty handed?'
May we not go empty handed to meet our Savior.
