A SOLDIER WITHOUT BULLETPROOF
A soldier who goes to battle without bulletproof is not brave. He is vulnerable. Likewise, a Christian who steps into life’s battles without spiritual covering is exposed, no matter how confident they appear.
We are all soldiers, whether we realize it or not. Every day, we step onto a battlefield of temptations, trials, distractions, and spiritual warfare.
The enemy does not announce his attacks, and he does not fight fair. This is why God never sends His children into battle unprotected. “Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil” (Ephesians 6:11).
NOTE: it says the whole armor, not partial armor.
Prayer is our bulletproof.
The Word of God is our shield.
Righteousness guards our heart.
Faith blocks fiery arrows.
Truth keeps us from deception.
“Above all, taking the shield of faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked” (Ephesians 6:16).
Many believers are wounded not because God failed them, but because they went into battle spiritually naked prayerless, Word-empty, and careless.
They rely on yesterday’s victories for today’s battles, forgetting that manna must be gathered daily (Exodus 16:20). A soldier without bulletproof panics at every sound; in the same way, a Christian without preparation trembles at every challenge. But when you are covered, you can stand firm. “No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper” (Isaiah 54:17).
Many soldiers fall not because the enemy was stronger, but because they underestimated the battle. Likewise, many believers are wounded because they assumed life would be gentle after salvation.
Jesus never promised the absence of war; He promised victory in the midst of it. “In this world you will have tribulation; but be of good cheer, I have overcome the world” (John 16:33). Awareness itself is part of our armor knowing the fight is real keeps us alert.
Armor is not ornamental; it must be worn daily. Yesterday’s prayer cannot shield you today, and yesterday’s Word cannot block today’s arrows.
Just as a soldier inspects his gear before battle, a believer must examine his spiritual life continually. “Examine yourselves, whether ye be in the faith” (2 Corinthians 13:5). When prayer becomes casual and the Word becomes optional, the armor grows thin and that is when the enemy strikes.
Jesus Himself did not face temptation without armor. When Satan came, He responded with the Word: “It is written…” (Matthew 4:4). If the Son of God needed the Word to stand, how much more do we? “Watch ye, stand fast in the faith, be strong” (1 Corinthians 16:13).
So be a soldier but not one without bulletproof. Stay covered. Stay alert. Stay armed. The battle is real, but the victory is certain. “In all these things we are more than conquerors through Him that loved us” (Romans 8:37).
